I'm happy with this, too. Seeing a little boy (no matter how cute Jackson is) in the opening credits would have reminded me a little too much of 7th Heaven, heh.

I like the idea of no opening credits. But I hope they do that thing that happened at the begining of 5.02, when Lucas explained the 'previously on' bit and such.

okay, I was reading the spoilers and it says......

Okay...Nathan and Haley are on very shaky ground at this point. I was under the impression that they aren’t even living together at this point and time. They were very distant at the wedding.

That's the last episode taped and Naley aren't good, it makes me sad. Once the writers strike is over, does oth have to be picked up to do the rest of the season or will it automatically start taping again cause oth can't end with Naley on the rocks.......

Well, we have another source in the NH spoilers thread that said the exact opposite, so we'll have to just wait and see. I personally think alot of stuff is open to interpretation (like the distance and not living together thing). Plus, there's alot we don't know about upcoming episodes when it comes to their relationship. So, just hang in there and see what happens.

Susan is exactly right, it's all up to interpretation. I heard from someone else who was there when it was filmed who said that NH seemed to be ok, not great by any means but not really horrible either by the time the wedding rolls around.

However, I do believe that no matter what, OTH has a good shot at either being picked up to finish the season when the strike ends or be picked up for S6. But I guess only time will tell on that one.

Even if the writers' strike ended this month, I don't know if they'd necessarily put the show back into production (unless they were for sure ending). They might...but I think alot of shows will probably just wait until summer to pick back up.

But it definitely needs to end soon. I hate that people are losing their jobs over this.

I think if the strike ended now, that probably only the bigger networks would put certain shows back in production because they would be the ones that would have the money to do so. I think the increasing concern with the strike is that it's going to cause the networks to miss pilot season. I think if that happens then it's almost a for sure thing that OTH would be back for at least 13 episodes, because they wouldn't have anything else to replace it with.

I think OTH's coming back anyway for at least 13 because of money. I don't know how many people would buy Season 5 DVDs or complete series sets if that was how it ended. Plus, the whole massive publicity they could get for the series finale.

I've been watching this show since the Pilot. I want a real ending, not a cliffhanger/unresolved mess.

It seems, at least on the surface, like they're working on the assumption of having shut down for the season regardless of when the strike ends. Mark has even said 512 makes a good season finale. But if they want any closure at all, they need to do something when the strike ends. I don't even care about a season six, I'd be happy with a feature-length episode or two. Just something to give the show a real ending.

Although... I'm not happy that if they release a 12-episode Season 5 on DVD, it likely won't be much cheaper than a full-length season would have been. Way to rip people off. The only way it might be worth the money is if in addition to the three episodic disks, they also include two or three disks crammed with nothing but outtakes, "real" bloopers, and other extras.

The really sucky part? If episodes 501/502 are anything to go by, this had the potential to be a really good season.

that would really suck if they didn't continue at all and the whole series ended with that episode. I mean after 5 seasons, they can't do that. It's too cruel to the fans.

I can't tell you the exact details because I was trying to do something else too but it showed "Lucas" and "Nathan" standing by some lockers and Nathan was saying some melodramatic dialogue about the lockers (from what I saw) and than it showed "Lucas" staring dramatically at a lake with some angsty song in the background about how he was staring dramatically at the lake. And than at the end Stewie says something like how can people watch these characters/show. He's only a baby and he's cooler or something like that.
