If you want to bring Owen into this because they are dating than okay. But I can't see how everyone thinks that she wants to start a family with him when they've been together for like a day, and have known each for a month. That just dosn't make any sense to me.

I still go by us needing more information on when Brooke actually ask's Lucas.

I doubt Owen is there just to be her BFF. He has to be love interest.

I mean Brooke has thought about it, she said her heart was sure. And she is not going to date a guy for like a month and then want his baby. She hardly knows him. Come on, that is ridiculous.

To me, this part seems obvious:

The show was on a plan to go for only 13 episodes. Mark wanted to give LP and BL something if it ended at 13, so this is his best scenario, right? BL baby and LP reunion or married.

But........if the strike ends soon, we are getting a lot more episodes, whether it's 22 or not will depend on the strike situation and its timing. I have seen physical proof that the show has the 22 episode order now.

If we get the rest of the episodes after 12 or 13....then....we will see more of this storyline with Brooke and the baby and with Owen. The same is true for LP and Greg, right? I can't see Brooke and Lucas having a baby if the show has more than 12/13 episodes. It seems more like something that will drag on for much longer, with changes happening along the way.

Melissa, it makes a lot more sense for Brooke to ask Lucas shortly after she is back in TH because it would be fresh in her mind. Why would she wait for months?

I never said she wanted to start a family with Owen.

All I said was that this Brooke-baby stuff could be a catalyst for Owen to start thinking seriously about Brooke and maybe prove to her that he is that kind of guy.

And speaking of jumping the gun and jumping to conclusions, maybe we shouldn't assume this is actually going to happen, Brooke getting pregnant by Lucas' sperm. It could very well be shot down to hell, as well.

This thread goes round and round and round! It gives me a headache but at least we're discussing instead of what we normally do.

Honestly I don't know what to think about this new SL for Brooke and Lucas. It could very well be just another bone thrown to the BL fans or it could be something else. Time will tell.

Although I can see what Cathy and Jess are saying, not so much in the sense that I agree but more in the way Mark may be looking at it (does that make sense?) Since the beginning if Brooke wasn't with Lucas, Mark tried to make each new guy 'the one' for her, first Felix, then Chase, and now Owen. I think its a little early for her to find the one in someone she just met but this is Mark we're talking about.

Anything is possible.

In a way, I kind of the think, especially if LP do end up together, that B will have L's baby. That way, there's both LP and BL, and everyone will be happy in some way. Plus it connects BP for life too. Now the core 5 are all related

I really think Mark thinks this is a genius idea.

Or it could just be Brooke's storyline for the second-half of the season, with her overcoming her fear of being lonely and really settling into a relationship with Owen and without having Lucas's baby.

I really really don't think Brooke will end up pregnant by Lucas.

Ok really good example of how I see this playing out. On Will & Grace, WG plan to have a baby together. Grace is all on board and until she realized this guy really wants her and she finally tells Will no because she wants a chance to see if she can have a future with this guy.

Will and Grace even have a HUGE fight because Will says she's being selfish byt she throws back that he's the selfish one taking away her chance to have a family with this guy, which she ends up doing.

Basically I see Brooke realizing on her own or maybe with Owen that what she's doing is wrong. Like the closer she gets with him it makes her reconsider and see what Lucas's is sacrificing. She taking away that chance from Lucas and herself. She doesn't know what the future holds but she wants that shot.

I actually see a good BL scene out of it, with her apologizing and telling Lucas her change of heart.

Do we really know anything about Brooke/Owen? I mean we know they maybe start dating in 5x10. But I think that's the extent of it so far, no?

Side for Quentin:

In Lucas' office at Tree Hill High, in the afternoon. Lucas notices Quentin in his doorway. Quentin asks if Lucas wanted to see him, and without waiting for a response, walks into Lucas' office before sitting in a chair and arrogantly putting his feet on Lucas' desk. Jumping in to answer his own question, Quentin suggests that Lucas wants him back on the basketball team. Lucas dryly responds that he won't put Quentin back on the team unless he takes his feet off the desk. Cockily, Quentin tells Lucas that he's surprised it took him this long to ask him back, to which Lucas replies that he hasn't asked him back yet. Unconcerned, Quentin tells Lucas that with the team he's got, he needs him.

Lucas, looking Quentin straight in the eye, tells him how things are going to go: Lucas is the coach, and Quentin has to do exactly what he says - starting with taking his feet off Lucas' desk! At this, Quentin's feet drop to the floor. Unblinking, Lucas continues that he is building a team, and if Quentin can't be a team player, he won't be on the squad.

Quentin nods, taking in what Lucas has said, before attempting to turn the tables. Quentin tells Lucas that they both know he's the best shooting guard in the state. Leaning forward, he continues that he won't play zone defense, or for that matter any defense at all. He wants his minutes on offense, and he'll play or sit out whenever he wants to. He also wants Lucas to choose a different point guard. With complete disregard for Lucas' authority, he says Lucas will do exactly what he says. When they win, Quentin might even let Lucas take credit.

Quentin then moves to leave, before stopping in the doorway. With a grin, he tells Lucas that he can call him "Q," and that he likes Lucas. The grin then fades as he tells Lucas that's how things are going to go. Just so they're both clear. With that parting shot, Quentin finally leaves.

I can see Brooke maybe starting to have doubts or thinking of the position she has put Lucas in. Then maybe Brooke having a chat with him and saying they should leave it, only for him to turn around and tell her he will do it.

If Lindsey is gone, Peyton cheats on Lucas, and Brooke is single then why the hell not is what I say.

That's another thing. There is alot of BO build up, so much that it makes me believe there is something big for them planned.

No matter what, even though I highly doubt Brooke will carry Lucas's child, I still strongly disgree with this as a women.

To me it just seems insulting. I'd much rather seen Brooke ready to do this on her own. I would have loved to see an adoption storyline. Atleast then she's choosing a child that needs a home, something she would have to go through counseling and evaluations for, to make sure this is truly what she wants.

No women in their right mind would ever ask an ex flame who's inlove with their best friend thet. She's even excited LP can get married now.

But I do think Lucas said no, now more than ever. I think the reason Brooke is so excited and blurting it out to Peyton after Lucas's failed wedding minutes before is because she thinks now Lucas can say yes. And Brooke just expects Peyton to be fine and dandy with it.
