Well Owen does not seem to be at the church with Brooke so they don't seem to be together there. I mean there could be a number of reasons for him not being present but I just find it strange, especially as people like Millicent are there. Also I know Brooke really wants a family but I don't think she has known Owen that long so I can't see her wanting a child with a man she doesn't even know that well. Seems rather odd to me.

If you look at Brooke's words she has clearly thought about it and is sure she wants Lucas to be the father. So personally I don't see it setting up Brooke/Owen at all. Like Eva said, she came back to ask Lucas, and even after meeting Owen she still asks Lucas.

Also we heard Brooke would be getting a new BFF so isn't it quite possible that is what Owen will be.

Exactly Eva. Brooke meet's Owen well into her trip to TH, so wanting Owen to father her child, just doesn't add up at all. She clearly came back to ask Lucas, as she said in the side to him and to Peyton.

I completely see this. I do know Mark and Co are thrilled with SJ's chem. They work very well together.

Again I don't know much and I could be hugely wrong, but I was told Brooke's "plans" will change. And that she's really not thinking this through at all.

And hell you can see that by her reasons. Her mother and her "lonely" NY life are making her think a baby will fill her void and essentially be a quick fix.

The thing is Brooke's not giving herself the chance to have it all and maybe that chance will happen afterall.

There is a big B/O connection from the start. Whether they cross that line in the last few eps I don't know, but their connection is anything but friendly. The boy goes to NY with her and beats the crap out of a druggie for her.

Somehow I highly doubt he's just going to fade into the background.

ETA: Brooke does not think Owen wants her like that, Brooke may not think their connection is going any further. She wants this baby aa a fix that's the key. It's not thought out at all, she's only seeing the benifits not the negatives. I think she will see that before anyone else or I could totally see Owen "opening her eyes".

Well, in 5.07 don't we have a spoiler saying that Brooke came back to Tree Hill for Peyton? So..what does that mean? Why would she tell Peyton she came back for her and Lucas that she came to ask him this question? Why would Brooke even wait this long to ask him anyway? Or did this scene happen when she first came back and we're just seeing it now? This doesn't make sense to me.

What about Owen? What happened to him?

That's the point, though, you guys. Brooke came back to TH with the intention of asking Luke to give her some sperms. She had no intention or inclination to find anyone else to have a family with. Which is why she does not seriously consider Owen, and which is why I think he's going to work to fight for Brooke and show her that he wants it all with her. She doesn't even seriously consider him as anything more than a fling, maybe, so he has to prove to her otherwise.

We don't have enough information on this to jump to conclusions. Especially Brooke wanting Owen to be a father to her children, which is completely absurd considering they've known each other for what? A month.

I say we need more information on this before we judge.

Oohh. Yes of course. I actually thought this whole time she was referring to when she first came back to TH. So I thought maybe she already asked Lucas awhile back.

Is it possible that maybe she will have a baby with Lucas' sperm but still ends up with Owen and they raise the child together. I still think that is possible.

Just reading that sentence makes me think this is right out of a really really bad soap. Why must you steal their storylines Mark?

ETA: I take it back because we don't know for sure when the flashback happens.

I don't think he will just disappear. And Brooke/Owen may have good chemistry but isn't it possible Owen will just be her new BFF? I mean Brooke/Peyton have good chemistry, it doesn't mean they should be a couple

I believe Brooke came back because she wanted to have a family and get away from the famous life, I don't think it was specifically for Lucas's sperm. That sounds like something she recently cooked up.

And anyway, the "flash to" scene at Clothes Over Bro's is not Lucas's flashback. It's a general flashback scene for the audience, kind of like the JP scenes in 321. You'll notice in the side that that scene does not say "FLASHBACK" like the 409 flashback that Peyton has and the 101 "FLASHBACK" that Lucas has.

Are you referring to the pre-season info about Brooke? Way back before the filming started, there was discussion on the writers' table about Mouth and Brooke living together. That's where the new best friend stuff came from.

My question last night was, "When does Brooke ask Lucas? before his engagement to Lindsey or not?" We don't know, right? All we know is that they are in COB, right? We actually don't know the timing of the flashback. I guess my question is based on her timing of everything. If it is a few weeks after she has come back from NY, then that would make make more sense, wouldn't it? If the flashback scene actually happens like right before the wedding, or the day before or whatever, then that is bizarre.

I think Brooke thinks that having a baby will be enough but maybe Owen will be that guy to tell her that she can have it all if she really wants to. I don't think Brooke necessary wants a baby because she thinks she is ready to have one I truly think she wants this baby because she thinks its better then being alone, but Owen will make her realize what a mistake she is making by asking this of Lucas.

I think it's bizarre no matter where it's placed. It would make more sense if it happened earlier though. Maybe she asks him that night that everyone is at C/B.

If Brooke came back to TH with the intention to ask Lucas to do this then why is she trying so desperately to get with Owen in the previous episodes. Aren’t there sides with him turning her down twice?
