I don't see how those kids could ever work again.

Just finished watching The Living Years from season 1 on SN, and even though I thoroughly enjoyed it, it's almost painful to go back and watch season 1 now knowing what the show has become. Those were the episodes that really hooked me on this show. The realness, the honesty, the innocence of the characters and their dialogue. Deb had class and a backbone and I swear when Dan tells Nathan he loved him at the end, it just breaks my heart. It broke it then, and it breaks it now even more knowing that the show will never be the same. That same layered, complex Dan is now the cold-blooded killer of his own brother. How sad is that?

^^I was watching also, and thought the same thing. The Living Years was the first episode I ever watched, and now it's like, "What happened?" Even 3 years later, the episode still made me smile and squeal. It was almost as if I was watching a different show. I actually thought the same thing about Keith too, I was like, "What does this even matter anymore? In a couple years he'll be dead!" And now I just want family counseling back.

When I drove by the studios, it ended with a security guard chasing us down. Of course it was like 9:30/10 at night...

It was a different show. Entirely. That's what's so sad. I really don't have enough words to express my disappointment in the downward turn this show took over the last few years.

Where I live the show airs every Saturday morning which I didn't know until a month or two ago when someone around here cursed them. After watching, I couldn't agree more. GOD, THEY STINK... (I'm sorry). I don't have a clue of what was going on during the episode, but the boys had the stereo on and they were dancing in the kitchen with their mother. Then, whenever the one with curly hair said something, the one with straight hair repeated... Jesus, I couldn't watch it anymore. It was like:

"I love this song".
"Yeah, I love this song".

"Dance with us, mom".
"Yeah, dance with us, mom".

"When's dad coming home?"
"Yeah, when's dad coming home?"

AHHH.. I'm sorry. They were really annoying.

I will bet hard money that Mark picks a kid that will rival the Camden twin's horrendousness.

Dude, seriously don't You're killing my "season 5 hope". It's been diminished since the pity party story that made me feel bad for Haley. Not to mention the topless nanny = Brooke and Rachel waiting for Lucas without their clothes on seasons 1 and 3.

There's a new side out for Carrie, thanks to a*shot*of*whiskey on the LP thread:

Quote:
There's sort of a new-ish side of Carrie (the Nanny) and a scene with Haley. I think its for episode 5.02. Not sure about it. She talks to Haley about her family...the gist is basically...Um...Her dad disappeared early on...her mom was to young..too wild to be a mom and a wife. She spent a lot of time in foster homes...She's basically thanking Haley for giving her a chance and that she's still a work in progress and she didn't want to let Haley down. The scene starts out with Haley playing the piano.

I wonder if they're even gonna bother casting a girl for Lily. I mean, we've heard so much about Lucas/James and all...and then there was that thing about Moira Kelly not really being on the show as much..I think.

Jess why the sad face regarding the side ? Maybe because they're already fleshing out this character and she needs to be gone already? I'm sorry, even with the spoilers that it's Luke she's after, I still don't trust this woman being N/H's nanny and most likely living in their house. I just don't.
