No, Luke/Linds! =( Stick to Nathan, Carrie.

The Haley/James angle is really depressing me.

I'd like to add a big to the whole walking outside in your bra thing because "you didn't know somebody was there".....uh who walks outside in just their bra regardless??? I certainly don't, I have ya know, neighbors and stuff.

As a working parent, one with an actual career I love and of importance, I have to say it's a little offensive to hear that people would think Haley is a bad mom for having a job and not making every Dr. appointment. Reality is, while most parents probably wish they would never miss anything in theirs child's lives, sometimes other arrangements simply have to be made. And not everybody (in fact these days less and less) can be a stay at home parent. Most people HAVE to work and many WANT to work. Neither of which makes them a bad parent IMO.

I hope so, Lucy!

I'm not a parent, but I do know the importance of attachment formed between mother and child within the first few years of birth. I'm not saying Haley's a bad parent, we simply don't know yet. But it is possible to work and have a career without a live-in nanny. Realistically a missed appointment here or there, and someone to care for the child while the mother is at work is fine but it comes to a point where if the child is spending more time with the nanny, then I believe it's a problem and the child will psychologically form bonds with one primary care-giver and respect her fully. Anyone taking Psych-101 knows that much.

Do we see daycare as different from a nanny? Children who don't have nannies spend the same amount of time in daycare as they would with a nanny. I don't understand why nanny has such a negative connotation. Why should you be considered less of a parent if you have a nanny vs. daycare, and vice versa?

Yeah, I think the situation would be perceived alot better if James had daycare or a babysitter, rather than a nanny.

I can't speak for anyone else, it's the Psych neurotic in me.

But I see nannies totally different from live-in nannies, and both are not the same as daycare. Basically a live-in nanny is there for around the clock care, whether the mother is available or not.

Honestly, I think a nanny is better than daycare. I don't want my kids in an impersonal environment, getting germs and sicknesses and god knows what else. Socialization is important, but that's what a private pre-K program is for. Yeah, I'm kind of a snob about this stuff, but I don't care.

Exactly. As a N/H fan, I am not exhaling at all. Does anyone honestly think she won't hit on Nathan too? A slut's a slut you know. They're usually not too picky.

I agree about nannies being a better option than daycare, but it's more of the "live-in" part that I have a problem with.

Gah, I have such a soft spot for Michael and Sara. Did you watch S2 yet, Jess?

I was thinking the same thing That sounds just so odd.

I still don't get how can NH afford a nanny.

Honestly, we don't know the entire situation. It seems to me that Carrie is a recent addition (Haley's surprised at her efficiency, she doesn't know Lucas very well). We don't know how NH felt about hiring a nanny in the first place. If Nathan's in the hospital or going through painful rehab, alot of stuff is going to fall on Haley's shoulders. Maybe Carrie's just helping out until things slow down. And James is hardly one or two. He's nearly five and some sort of boy genius. He obviously understands what's going on. Maybe he's the one who told his mom that he would be okay with having someone help out.

I not a parent, but watching my mom all these years, I know things can get really stressful. I think we need to cut Haley a break. She's probably just doing what is best for her family right now. I seriously doubt Carrie will be around forever.

I'm on 2.05 tonight, when the husband gets home. We're both addicted now! Sara/Michael are amazing. I love them so much. I can't wait to watch the rest of S2, because I've been hearing great things!!

I agree, I never wanted to be a live-in nanny, nor would I want to have a live-in nanny.

Did I hear some Michael/Sara talk?

ETA: Oh man, now I see the avi Nice choice, Jess. You're going to LOVE the rest of the season!

Oh yeah, back to OTH...I thought this whole nanny thing was being blown way out of proportion. And sadly I'm not shocked that she's going after Lucas since he is apparently the object of every girl's affection on this show. I don't know if I really see her as the next Rachel though only because she seems to have a solid reason for being on the show already (as James' nanny) so maybe she will have some background and depth to her. Hopefully Mark won't give her random things to do because she already has a job and won't need that.

Now, who is willing to bet that Peyton and Brooke will hate Carrie solely based on the fact that she has an obvious crush on, or at least an infatuation with, Lucas? And I'm making an official predition that I believe Carrie will have sex with Mouth at some point.

Just to throw my two cents in here about the Nanny situation from experience. I had a fulltime Nanny until I started school, and from then until my school started an aftercare program I hung out with her afterschool until my parents got home from work. There's nothing bad about it. I still saw my parents every morning before school, and every night for at least 4 hours. I still "bonded" with and respected my parents even though I spent more time with my nanny.
