| I agree Lauren, I feel bad for James too. I'd be pissed if I were him. It seems like it was all for nothing. I also agree, I'm partial to Joy's long hair, it just seemed to give her a really powerful, regal quality, if that makes sense. I hope she looks sexy with the new cut because I don't want to see her lose her sex appeal. That long mane of hair was quite sexy, however, there are a lot of guys that find shorter hair sexy, so I guess we'll see. I wonder if it was a Joy choice or a storyline choice. I've had both long and short hair in my life and I really don't see the difference. It's how you can carry it off and personally I think Joy will do it brilliantly. Did you forget she had shorter hair on Guiding Light? I thought she looked pretty sexy there...and she'll look sexy on this show too. | Does anyone else find it kind of cute that Jamie is dressed like a mini-Nathan? He's wearing the same cargo shorts as him - it's adorable! I just want to see Joy's hair because the description has me really curious but other than that I'm not too invested in it. | I personally thing the Joy-hair talk has been totally crazy here lately. Yes, it's shorter... obviously a lot shorter BUT she has had short before and looked stunning. There was also this comment on when you become a mom they always cut the hair... well actually a lot people does. Why? Simply because babies has a tendency to pull in mamas hair while you breastfeed them (and on all the other 100 occasions) and after a while you kinda get sick of it so you cut it. There in mothers/people with short hair are not less sexy; the hair does not make a persons personal aura around them more or less. Joy is beautiful, sexy and elegant and whatnot she always has been and always will be.... She has pulled of every other haircut style etc and I have no doubt in my mind she will look stunning in s5. She will still act like no other, she will still be kick ass in everything she does. And with that said that one goes for James hair too... I'll be seriously dissappionted, i'm really hoping the writing will be better than S4.And for the hair discussion, i wish we can stop bringing down the actors/actresses because of their hair. It's JUST hair and sometimes it's not by their choice. This thread witnessed many bashing on James because of his hairstyle and now it's turning on Joy too. I hontesly think it's extremely unfair because an actor doesn't always have to have the perfect hairstyle especially if it's connected to a certain storyline for the show, what's more important is his/her acting and what they bring to the show. No doubt it plays a role too, but i think people make a big deal out of it so much. I do get that certain haircuts can make someone more/less appealing to some people but sometimes people put some really harsh comments that's not even funny. I'm really sick of hair topics in general now, ofcourse everyone is free to voice their opinion and i respect that, but that's not the piont, the piont is some opinions are offending. And one thing more, some of the people who are now upset about the current discussion of hair were part of previous hair discussions and made some equal offending comments, so i think now they probably get why some of us were really annoyed with such topic and requested many times for it to stop. | Fan Forum's Finest  | I think the hair seems to be up to the show, not to the actors. I don't know if this is the case here but many have said it was the case with James. Joy said in an interview too that they don't decide over their hair and that they weren't allowed to cut ir or change the color because it's up to the writers as long as you are bound to the contract. Again, I don't know if this was the case here but... Either way, just because the blonde and long is my favorite and like Lauren said, I will always prefer it BUT it doesn't mean I won't love the short and brown or that she won't looks smokin' with it. I think she will look absolutely gorgeous and like Susan pointed out, she looked really sexy on Guiding Light. The look will definitely make her look older I think and didn't they say Haley was going to be a strong character etc etc? Well I think that too will shine through with this hairstyle. Don't start hating it before you have seen it on her guys. You can imagine what it looks like but the truth it, most of us have not seen Joy work it. I know she can pull it off, in fact, I am confident. So...can we drop it? I hope they release the promo shots in time and PLEASE have shots of JJJ all together. | In some shows, characters have a "signature look" that they won't deviate from. In others, as long as you don't do anything ridiculous -- like get a mohawk -- they'll let you do whatever you want. In seasons one and two the cast seemed to keep to a specific "look" most of the time, in season three it seemed to be more lenient, and in four... well, that was a hair monstrosity of a season. Apart from James who was obviously growing his hair out for a reason (one that has now been proven rather fruitless, and no doubt irritating for him), I don't know what excuse the others had. __________________ Everyone around me is insane; the voices in my head compound the problem | |||

| Ok, well I might be the only person thinking this, but here goes nothin'... I really wanted/thought Jamie would be a brunette. To me, making him a blonde makes him look more like Lucas and I hate that. Since Haley was presented on Tree Hill first as a brunette, I got the impression of her character that she was a natural brunette who dyed her hair blonde after the whole tour thing and just kept it that way...but, when I pictured Jamie, I pictured him with dark brown hair just like his daddy. So I pretty much hate the fact they casted a blonde kid. | I don't know why people get so uptight when we discuss hair. We've talked about James's hair for months, and a lot of people joined in on that. And it doesn't make you "less of a fan" if you're worried about what a new hairstyle is going to look like. Appearance is a big part of the job, and if hair is distracting or whatever, it obviously affects you when you're watching. That said, yes I think Joy will look cute in a short hairstyle, but that doesn't mean I or anyone else will necessarily like it better than the long. It's all about preference, and I would think it's okay to express that opinion. Anyways, I'm not looking forward to Nathan being depressed and distant. He needs to step it up and be a man for his wife and son. I know he had his job ripped away from him, but Jamie and Haley shouldn't be the ones to suffer because of his injury. __________________ Did you say it? I love you... | |||

| Eh, I really don't mind the fact that he is blonde, personally. For me it will matter more how he interacts with his parents rather than whether or not he looks similar to Lucas - that's actually the part I'm a bit anxious about at this stage because most of the sides we've gotten show him interacting with Lucas, Skills, the RC guys and now Brooke but we haven't seen any substantial interaction with his parents yet. I'm just hoping that's stuff that is being kept under wraps or something because as cute as the kid is I could give a fig about his relationship to anyone outside N/H. The other thing in regard to his hair colour is that it's almost as if people think that genes act in much the same way as mixing paint or something, and therefore some people think it would be really unlikely for James to have recessive traits if both his parents are brunettes. Even in the real world recessive genes show up more often than not so I think it is quite plausible (especially on a TV show) for that to be the case here and of course there is the added point that Haley has been blonde on the show and even had a childhood photo where she was blonde.
