I tried reading that one, but I didn't like the contrived Haley/Lucas "romantic" thing the author tried to throw in there for a cheap thrill. It annoyed me so much, I couldn't read any further. Haley would SO not kiss Lucas on the lips like that. Ew.

...and yes Lucas' slight 'well maybe I do have feelings for Haley' moment does have a bit of a squick factor in that fic

The author doesn't play it off like that though. You'd have to read it in order to fully grasp what she did. It just didn't sit with me right. I mean the rest of it was good, but if the author was willing to do that, then what else are they willing to do for cheap drama?

Wait was that in the same part? Cause maybe I just blocked it all out. That's just gross. Even if he did have feelings, does he honestly think Haley's gonna leave her husband to be with him? BWHAHAHA.

Well, I really liked Timeless. Even though she was with Lucas in the beginning and all, I thought that one was really epic, you know?

I usually like the ones where NH aren't together in the beginning but 'first meet' or start off with someone else and end up with each other. S'all good.

Such a spoiler drought. Kinda sad.

The fic that Lori recommended is NOT a Laley fic.

Lori, I was about to post a link to that fic when I saw that you beat me to it. Its a great and very well-written fic that fills in many of the blanks for our Scott family both before and during the four years between season 4 and 5. I would recommend that everyone read it. Oh, and your icon....adorable!

Timeless is AU though, this fic tries to pass itself off as sort of canon that happened between Seasons 4 and 5. If it was AU, it wouldn't have bothered me as much...but no where on the show has it been indicated to me that Lucas has EVER had romantic feelings for Haley. Period.

It might not be a L/H fic, but it did have that weird moment where they kissed and Nathan walks in on them (and the whole Lucas thinking he had feelings for Haley...which is just not kosher considering he just split from Peyton at the time). It was just weird and is something that would never happen on the show. Lucas has never had romantic feelings for Haley period and it upsets me that some author would try to pass something like that off as potential canon.

If they were gonna explore Lucas having romantic feelings for Haley, it should have been in Season 1...not after Haley has married his brother twice and had his baby. Not when it would ruin everything.

ETA: It also bothered me that they had the LH kiss because Nathan and Haley nearly lost their marriage TWICE because of a kiss (among other things). I can't see Nathan just being cool with something like that. It wasn't on the cheek or anything. This was on the lips, eyes closed. If Nathan didn't walk in, how long would it have lasted? Would it have led to more? Those are the kinds of questions I have. It's just not kosher IMHO.

This is why we need more spoilers to talk about!

The story Lori linked to is a beautiful read about the NHJL family, and I third that recommendation. One of the best post-high school OTH stories I've read. And the moment with Lucas, that kiss, wasn't the author throwing in drama for drama's sake as it caused no drama at all. It was platonic, much like boy toy kiss between HL and the entire exchange was a nice moment for their friendship.

The story is in the middle of handling the fallout of Nathan's accident, and I'm really enjoying that. I think the author has a lot of respect for the NHL dynamic, and IMO, it shows throughout.
