My favorite fic ever is "One Tree on a Hill." That should be made into a tv movie.

So, I was watching 5.17 today, an episode I hadn't seen before, and I was wondering something about the merry-go-round scene with Jamies/Haley. How was it able to spin like that without anyone pushing it? I've never seen an automatic one at a playground before.

Beautiful summary/review of the fic, Annie and I agree completely. Actually, if my memory serves, that scene was more a discussion between LH about Lucas' onging feelings for Peyton a year after their break-up and his inability to commit 100% to romantic relationships out of a fear that he didn't recognize or admit to. I also recall him talking about Nathan and Haley and how he portrayed them in his book as being an epic love story and something he and everyone who read his book aspired to. And then I recall Nathan coming home and dismissing the kiss (described as "dry", right?) as nothing and then he and Haley making out. Nope, not a Laley fic at all.

But if that scene comes across as LH to some, then it can be easilly skipped over without affecting the rest of the story.

I'm thinking we might need to ask this author to continue the fic to include S6 scenes for our Scott family to fill in what appears to be BIG storyline gaps based on the lack of spoilers.

ETA: Becky, I've read a lot of fics, but I haven't read that one. I assume its some kind of parody of OTH? Is it completed? If so, link me please.

As for the merry-go-round, you know better than to think about things like that! This one wasn't the automatic kind, but the kind that came with a crew member attached...probably the same guy who was pumping Lucas' stomach to revive his heart in 4.09.

Becky, that fic is amazing. I think I reviewed it and told the girl that I was an English teacher and I gave her an A+ for creativity. She was like so happy, but I sincerely meant it. The only place I have ever seen it is at the RC, but if you Google it, you may be able to find it. It was written right after season one or towards the end of it. I literally was laughing aloud reading it, and everyone I recommend it to says the same thing.

Another funny fic that is not intentionally funny is one about a school shooting. Every other line is, "OMG, there's so much blood." "Gah, the blood." "Have you seen so much blood?"

One tree of a hill? Interesting. I haven't read that one yet. And I thought I've read the RC to death already

I hate spoiler droughts. It ends up with me reading fics, and now that i've read almost all of em, I'm left with nothing to do.

I don't know. Maybe because for the most part, we steer clear of IM-like convos, LOL. Our threads get an insane number of views, though.

Yeah, that's really weird that we have the least number of threads. Maybe because of the LACK of spoilers

I just finished rereading The Goodbye Girl, I'm really dying for it to be updated. It's really sad when I have to go to fics to get my NH fix instead of the show.

I wouldn't say it's the lack of spoilers exactly. But I won't say anymore because it's not going to be nice, LOL.

Ugh, I can't make up my mind whether I liked The Goodbye Girl or what. I would say I'm intrigued, but I don't know if I love it. And N and H both frustrate me in that story.

Yeah, I'm with you there. That's one of those I want to see some light at the end of the tunnel before I decide what i feel. It's just very depressing, awesomely written but depressing. I'm way to sensitive about NH to take too much angst for too long.

ETA: I agree we do less idle chat on our threads and we're not constantly going back and forth why our couple rules and the other drools.

Unlike us, when you're in a triangle there is a HUGE amount of that.

actually is u watch it really closely, haley is moving it with her foot.

Darn, I miss all the fic talk lately!

Not to start up a debate again but when that LH scene happened in that fic I told the author honestly that I was enjoying the story but had a hard time stomaching that scene (I've been reviewing since the first chapter, and didn't want to not review just because there was one scene I didn't like, lord knows as an author I wish a regular reviewer who had just stopped would tell me what about the place I took the story put them off!). She was really nice about it - PM'd back to say generally it wasn't a place she'd go and she was expecting to be skating on thin ice with it but when writing it she felt it was apropriate for Lucas to question his relationship with Haley on the back of Lindsey doing so mixed in with all the unresolved mess his romantic life is. I've continued to read and enjoy the story, and the latest update is from Jamie's POV which and is both cute and touching. I've been waiting all year for someone to tackle the college years, and this is the first story that I've read that has tried and actually had some substance to it.

Elise - With The Goodbye Girl I find it hard to want NH to get back together, I feel like they've been through the ringer so many times I can no longer put any faith in them having a lasting relationship. If it's not one, it's the other, and I understand Whitney writes it that they both have their issues to resolve before they can be together, but there's a point where you say, okay you don't work as a couple, go be happy apart because you're going to end up breaking each others hearts beyond repair. If Whitney continues to write it I'm sure I'll continue to read, and maybe she'll change my opinion, but as it stands now that's how I feel.

I don't think so...

you can see her foot moving but there's no way it could reach the ground. It's just one of those silly things that we aren't supposed to notice.
