What really stands out to me is that in S1, there were so many obvious differences between Lucas and Brooke, particularly their personalities. One was outspoken and wild while the other was more reserved. But as the show progressed, the distance between them as individuals began to lessen. We start to see, like Mouth once said, that they had the same hearts.

Lucas rushed to the Duke party because someone was in trouble and Brooke rushed to the hospital after Nathan's accident because someone was in trouble. She was portrayed as self-centered, yet she gave so much of herself. At times, more than any other character did.

She didn't have a reason to like Haley at first. She wasn't exactly friendly in S1 and was obviously on team Leyton, but as time went on, she was the one to give her a place to stay when Peyton wouldn't even glance in her direction. Kind of like Lucas arranged to have Brooke stay in his room when she had no where else to go.

But the point I'm trying to make is that right now, what seems to be front and center with Peyton is her career in music. Perhaps it's because she doesn't have much else in her life right now, but I can see it being an issue in the future. Luke obviously wants a family. He wants someone he can share his dreams with, but when we look back on the seasons, Peyton wasn't standing beside him when his dreams came true... Brooke was. She cheered for him when he was at his highest, and she held him up when he was at his lowest. Kind of like he did when she was going through everything with Angie.

Again... they have the same hearts.

They both want a family. Brooke has success and money and fame and whatever else she wants to charge to her bank account, but none of those things matter because she wants love and a family. The same thing that Luke wants. But I don't think it's front and center with Peyton. I think history will repeat itself with her once again putting Lucas on hold for her career. It seems like it'll be a sore point and that they'll drift apart because of their differences while BL get closer doing what they seem to do so well... leaning on each other. Being there for each other. Saving each other.

I agree. Not to be mean to any of our guests or anything, but it's a BL thread and there's a lot being said about not getting hopes up or about what we shouldn't interpret in our favor. Of course we're going to see things a certain way or hope for something to happen between Brooke and Lucas... they're our couple, and that's why we're here.

You guys act like you've never run into someone you knew from high school (for those that have graduated high school. ) and said "you're with so and so? i swore you and so would be together forever!".

I think if you don't wanna be with someone, no amount of coaxing will make you be with that person. My sister and her ex were together 3 years, and he was the coolest, sweetest boyfriend in the world! Just all around kick ass guy! My sister doesn't have the best taste in men, so for her to be with this guy for so long made everyone around her happy! When they broke up last year, everyone around her took it almost worse than she did!! She has a new boyfriend now, but she constantly has to hear "You should get back together with Aras!!". Has she broken up with her new boyfriend? no. they've been together seven months and they're obbssessed with each other! So i don't really buy that whole "they made Lucas be with peyton" argument.

edit I also wish everyone would stop talking about LP, and focus on BL. somehow people talk alot about LP in this thread, and I don't get it...the times that I have seen LPers come in, its to respond to comments by others about LP ...
