Any other hints about Castle's upcoming Christmas episode? — Melissa
ADAM: The episode, titled "Secret Santa," once again plays on the hush-hush relationship that Castle and Beckett have (pretty much unsuccessfully) tried to keep from their colleagues. But creator Andrew W. Marlowe confirms that the secret will officially be out soon. "We're going to move beyond it. There's only so much storytelling we can sustain," he says. "Capt. Gates is certainly the big issue. How is she going to react? Is that going to threaten the partnership?" So will that reveal be a Christmas gift to viewers or a big lump of coal? CASTLE CHRISTMAS EP SCOOP
Castle is doing its first Christmas episode! And while I was chatting with executive producer Andrew Marlowe about Castle’s slate of November episodes, I made sure to ask him about this hotly anticipated hour, which will be the show’s last new episode of 2012 (aka: midseason finale).
Per the boss, the “charming and heartfelt” episode will chronicle Castle and Beckett’s first Christmas as a couple. “We’ll see the pressures of that and what each of their personal traditions are and how those might clash — and complement each other,” says Marlowe. Meanwhile, fans to see Christmas through the eyes of lots of our precinct faves. “[We’ll see] what Esposito is doing for Christmas, what Lainey is doing for Christmas — and what they may or may not be doing together, and Ryan is having a little Christmas crisis of his own,” he says.
There’s also a Santa falling from the sky (Marlowe jokes that we should not to watch with Santa-loving children “unless you want to have to explain some stuff”) and a gift exchange to remember. Oh, and those of you claiming it’s time for the Ryan family to expand? “We certainly plant some seeds about that in the Christmas episode,” he teases.

ETA: It is definitely going to take me a while to get the 1st post up to date! I need a photo from this year of the cast to put up and I need to go back and look at all the spoilers we've gotten for upcoming episodes! Oh well, at least the episode descriptions are up to date as well as the promo! I always felt bad before about how out of date it was! If someone was coming to see what was going on, based on the 1st post they might think we were way behind!

I am excited about them making Christmas lists togther but the whole *o** thing has been driving me crazy. I suppose it is not long until we find out I am looking forward to a grumpy Castle and Beckett stranded with no phone, gun and badge, I am sure the episode is going to be very funny though this season has been amazing so far I cannot wait for episodes next year Whats going to be better is I will be back in London so I can watch them whenever I want instead of the current drama I have to go through

new Stana interview if you guys want to read it. Personally I didn't like it and I wish i hadn't read it. I think what Stana said must have been taken out of context, cause she's normally the biggest shipper there is. And the article as a whole isn't well put together (especially the bit about the ratings :\) so yeah i'm choosing to ignore it

The article was kind of weird and disjointed. I do wonder about what Stana said. It doesn't seem to jive with what she's said before. It makes me wonder if it's based on what she knows is coming up that we don't know about yet. You know, maybe she's ready to get married and he's not. He has had 2 failed marriages and maybe he gets skittish about doing it again. It's not that he doesn't love and adore her, because he would do just about anything for her, but marriage is a big deal. He knows she's a one an done kind of a person so he wouldn't want to ruin that for her. This is all just speculation obviously, but it would kind of make what Stana said make sense. But it's possible she didn't say that and they twisted her words around to say something differently to sensationalize the article a little more. That happens all the time!

I want to see that too! That's part of what I'm looking forward to with After Hours, Secret Santa and Significant Others! It seems like we're going to get a lot more of that interaction! Yay!

I agree, it's hard to determine exactly what she said in the article or if she knows a little more about what's coming. As far as her character goes I think Beckett has learned to trust Castle totally and implicitly at work but I don't know if she has done it in their personal life yet. I believe she trusted him as a friend, but now her heart is involved and although he is the first guy she has really "let the wall down" for and I think they still have a journey to get through all the layers. Everything so far has been light and easy, they haven't had to deal with a crisis yet, but I think Castle will come through with shining colours. I think they will show his character has a lot of depth beneath that charming, funny, caddish persona now that he has found the right person.

I'm glad you guys think it was a bit off too. truth be told it was stressing me out last night. It just doesn't seem like something Stana would say so I think it must have been twisted somehow. I also doubt it's about something that's coming up because we haven't heard anything like it before, and if Castle and Beckett were going to have issues we'd be hearing about it everywhere. I'm just going to chalk it up to a poor article. plus I think Castle has proved that he has amazing depth and after the whole "third time's a charm" thing in Till Death Do Us Part and his euphoria since being with Beckett, I don't see him having any doubts when it does come time to take that next step.
