After Baelfire went through the portal and Rumplestiltskin confronted The Blue Fairy one or two things could have happened:

1) Baelfire did make it to our world a land without magic, but Blue sent Tinkerbell to find Bae in our world to take him to Neverland for him to stay until Rumple could reunite with his son, because Blue wouldn’t want Bae to grow old and die before his father could find him.

This would mean Baelfire is our “Peter Pan” although he may not have gone by the name Peter Pan on Once Upon a Time. There are similarities between him and Peter Pan. Bae was fourteen and so was Peter Pan in the original story by J.M Barrie, and, like Peter Pan, he ran away. In Barrie’s version, Peter runs away to Kensington Gardens and Tinkerbell finds him there. As far as not using the name Peter Pan, Adam and Eddy have changed names before. Captain Hook’s name is not Killian Jones in the original. Rather, Hook’s name is James and his last name isn’t known. The creators of the show might have changed his name because Prince Charming goes by the name James.

2) Blue sent Tinkerbell and Peter Pan to find Baelfire and bring him to Neverland, and Bae was one of the Lost Boys.

Either way I think Blue orchestrated Baelfire getting to Neverland from our world; the reason being that she was still trying to grant Bae’s wish to get rid of the Dark One and save his father. She chose Neverland because in Neverland no one ages. This keeps Baelfire the same age he was when he left his father. Then, when Rumple had The Dark Curse enacted and everyone was sent to a world without magic, Bae would end up in the same place as his father. Since time would stand still for twenty-eight years, when the curse broke, Bae would still be the boy his father remembered from three-hundred years earlier.

The Best Laid Plans Never Go As Planned

A few short years after Rumple lost Bae, he met with Mr. Smee in a bar. There he made a deal with him in exchange for a magic bean. While at the bar, he saw his chance to get even with the man who stole his wife, and challenged him to a duel.

At Rumple and Killian’s duel, Milah, Rumple’s long lost wife showed up to break up the fight. She then let Rumple know that she was aware he wanted the magic bean, although she didn’t know for what. I believe she did know. After all, she held Mr. Smee prisoner; she and Killian had made their own plans for the bean, and never intended to give it to Rumple. I think she planned to find Bae herself to make amends for leaving him. Of course, they all thought that he was in a land without magic at this point.

So, after Rumple killed his ex-wife, this set Killian in motion. Rumple had given him the idea of staying alive by saying “good luck living long enough” to find a way to kill him. Killian knew that in Neverland he wouldn’t grow old and he could get his revenge on Rumple. Therefore Hook and Baelfire ended up in Neverland together, either by chance or fate.

Who knows what Killian and Baelfire’s relationship was like in Neverland? They could’ve gotten along, at least for a while. Someone had to teach Baelfire how to steal and be cunning. That could’ve been Killian’s influence on him. Baelfire certainly wasn’t like that when lived with his father.

When the curse hit, I think Hook made sure that Baelfire stayed behind with him without Cora knowing. Hook might have told Bae what really happened to his mother by this time. This would be part of Hook’s revenge on Rumple by turning his son against him. Then I think Bae turned on Hook because he couldn’t handle the horrible truth about what his father did to his mother. That’s when he would have started trying to find a way out of the post- cursed Enchanted Forest.

Peter Pan Grows Up

Baelfire succeeded in coming back to our world and took the name Neal Cassidy. When Emma met him, I think he was only back in our world for four years since they are both around seventeen years old. When we first see Neal in the episode “Broken,” his window is up in his apartment is open. Peter visits houses with open windows in the original Peter Pan. During the episode “Tallahassee,” Emma asks Neal jokingly, “Where are we going to go? Neverland?” When August asks Neal if he believed in magic he was quick to believe, and, like fellow Once Upon a Time staffer Zach Van Norman, I think August showed him the picture of the dagger.

I believe Neal is Baelfire.

^This is pretty much the theory I proposed here a while ago, with some of the details slightly different. I didn't make the connection with the Blue Fairy, but that makes a lot of sense. Bae can be both Peter Pan and Neal.

Is it just me, or does anyone else want to see some of the characters party like crazy at some point? Like just get crazy drunk and wild.

So they're going to have Gastown stand in for NYC??? Bet Jen would love to be doing an authentic on-location shoot right now.

Also, how do we know that scene of Snow & Charming in bed is real and not an extremely clever manip? I mean, the "promo" voice and source is not at all like the usual official one.

Maybe Jen is chasing an object that belongs to Bae and it leads her to Neal? Or maybe she's running away after an argument? Or she's chasing him because he ran away? Hmmm.

I am so giddy for their reunion.

Oh! Ok, I was confused for a while. I thought Jen was actually in NYC filming. I guess it makes sense that they would shoot in a city close to Stevenson and have it serve as NYC or another big city. The crew and all of their equipment are already in Canada so it would probably be too expensive to move them.
