Master storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron: Legacy") invite everyone to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on one's GPS, but it's a place where magic is coming!

To ensure that no one in fairytale land – especially Snow White – had any more "happily ever afters," Evil Queen Regina cast a curse which trapped the fairytale characters, frozen in time, and brought them into our modern world. Although still alive, they had no knowledge of their former selves and were sleepwalking through life – ageless -- for 28 years, until a savior arrived in the form of Emma Swan. Unbeknownst to Emma, she was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, who had whisked her out of fairytale land and into our world as an infant to save her from the curse. Abandoned as a baby, Emma's life was anything but magical; her last job was as a bail bondsperson, but she mostly drifted without much of a life plan. When her 10-year-old son, Henry -- whom she had given up for adoption years earlier -- appeared on her doorstep with a book of fairytales and a wild story about how Emma was the progeny of fairytale characters trapped in a town called Storybrooke, she thought he was crazy. But curiosity got the better of her, and when she brought Henry back to the town – where Regina, ever the control freak, had made herself mayor and was also Henry's adoptive mother -- Emma soon discovered that Storybrooke was more than it seemed. Over time she came to believe the stories were true, began to see cracks in the curse, and was finally able to break it.

Reality and myth were merged as the fairytale characters began awakening, once the curse was lifted, and remembered who they were. But to their dismay they were not transported back to fairytale land. And to make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin – aka Mr. Gold – in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, introduced magic into the town. In fairytales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences. Now the fairytale characters must contend with magic in their quest to find a way home, as new fairytale characters are revealed, old acquaintances are revisited, and some we had come to believe could be trusted will turn against their own kind.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Master storytellers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz ("Lost," "Tron: Legacy") invite everyone to Storybrooke, Maine, a small town that probably won't show up on one's GPS... but it's a place where magic is coming.

In Season One of "Once Upon a Time," Evil Queen Regina had cast a curse that brought the fairytale characters into our modern world and trapped them in Storybrooke with no memory of their former selves. Here they languished, ageless for 28 years, until Emma Swan stumbled upon them through her son, Henry, whom she had given up for adoption years ealier. Over time Emma came to understand that she herself was the progeny of fairy tale characters - Snow White and Prince Charming - and having begun to see cracks in Regina's curse and her hold on Storybrooke, set about breaking both.

In the Season Two premiere episode, "Broken," reality and myth begin to merge as the fairytale characters awaken from Evil Queen Regina's broken curse and remember who they were. But to their dismay, they aren't transported back to fairytale land. To make matters worse, Rumplestiltskin - aka Mr. Gold - in an effort to gain the upper hand in his power struggle with Regina, has introduced magic into the town. In fairytales magic has its place, but in our world it can have unfathomable consequences. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land, Prince Phillip awakens his sleeping beauty, Aurora (Sarah Bolger, "The Tudors"), but discovers that he and his traveling companion, Mulan (Jamie Chung, "Sucker Punch," "The Hangover Part II"), will soon have to face a deadly foe, on the Season Premiere of "Once Upon a Time," SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

"Once Upon a Time" stars Ginnifer Goodwin as Snow White/Mary Margaret, Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan, Lana Parrilla as Evil Queen/Regina, Josh Dallas as Prince Charming/David, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Jared S. Gilmore as Henry Mills, Meghan Ory as Red Riding Hood/Ruby, and Robert Carlyle as Rumplestiltskin/Mr. Gold.

Guest starring are Raphael Sbarge as Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket, Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, David Anders as Dr. Whale, Keegan Connor Tracy as Mother Superior/Blue Fairy, Michael Raymond-Jones as mysterious man, Beverley Elliott as Granny, Sarah Bolger as Aurora, Jamie Chung as Mulan, David-Paul Grove as Doc, Gabe Khouth as Mr. Clark/Sneezy, Faustino Di Bauda as Walter/Sleepy, Jeffrey Kaiser as Dopey, Michael Coleman as Happy, Mig Macario as Bashful and Julian Morris as Prince Phillip.

"Broken" was written by Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz and directed by Ralph Hemecker.

In the aftermath of Gold's actions at the wishing well, the people of Storybrooke must come to grips with the knowledge of what they once were... and are again. (Source)

  • Robert Carlyle spent most of Tuesday afternoon and evening inside Mr. Gold’s pawn shop, visited first by his formidable foe, the Evil Queen (Lana Parrilla), as fake smoke seeped out every time she exited out the door. After their interior scene wrapped, Carlyle and Parrilla both met with fans, some of whom had been waiting since 11 a.m. (I didn’t time it right to see Carlyle either on his way to or from set).Source

2.3 Lady of the Lake

Emma and Mary Margaret, with the aid of Mulan, Aurora and brave knight Lancelot, attempt to find a portal that will bring them back to Storybrooke. But a dark force threatens their safe return. And Henry tries to talk Jefferson into reuniting with his daughter. Meanwhile, back in the fairytale land that was, on the eve of meeting Prince Charming’s mother, King George poisons Snow White, and the only antidote lies within the waters of the Lady of the Lake, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
  • Snow White centric
  • Lancelot first appears.

2.4 The Crocodile (Source)
  • Rumple centric
  • Once Upon a Time is giving actor Colin O’Donoghue the Hook! The ABC drama has tapped the Irish thesp to join the Season 2 cast in the potentially recurring role of Captain Hook, TVLine has confirmed. A handsome, fearsome and confident pirate ship captain, Hook relishes every challenge and never backs down from a fight, whether the reward is power, riches, or women. He possesses the meticulous style and old-school manners of a proper gentleman, but beneath that veneer lies a vindictive enemy who will not rest until all his enemies have been defeated… and humiliated. Source
  • She (Emilie) was filming with Meghan Ory, Robert Carlyle, Josh Dallas and Lee Arenberg. Source
  • Actress Rachel Shelley has announced in a column on DIVA magazine that she has filmed a guest spot on Once Upon A Time. Thanks to the website’s Twitter account we know the dates during which she filmed, which put her guest spot squarely during the filming of episode 2.04 “The Crocodile”. Considering her allusion about “setting sail” it makes sense she filmed an Hook episode. Her character is most likely Milha, “a woman who’s often at her village’s tavern and is bored with being a wife and mother. Yearning for adventure, she joins a band of thieves”. (Source)

2.5 The Doctor
  • Possible Dr. Whale centric.

2.6 Tallahassee
  • Emma Centric

2.7
  • Red Centric
  • Annabeth Gish has been cast as ‘Anita’ the seventh episode of the second season. She’s described as a charismatic, beautiful and mysterious leader of a pack of humans who — like Red — turn out to be wolves. (Source)
  • Quinn, a “warlock” with magical powers who is disowned by his parents because they’re scared of his magical abilities. He’s taken in by a woman named Anita, whose family doesn’t speak to her for the same reason. Eventually, they will find a group of people who believe their powers are good, not bad. (Source)

CASTING & GUEST STARS
  • Cora will be back in season 2
  • Jamie Chung has been cast as Mulan "Magnolia." Mulan is described as “a warrior first and foremost, she could hold her own against a swordsman or even a king. She is trained in weaponry, tracking and riding, but has a spirituality that enhances her tactical and strategic abilities. Like the flower she’s named for, Mulan is beautiful and may, to the uninformed, seem delicate; her roots, however, go deep—she has an intuitive connection to the land and to the creatures who inhabit it. She can “hear” the breathing of the earth or “see” a camouflaged animal. She is well-versed in the philosophies of her people and is able to see the larger picture. She has suffered past betrayals, so her trust is hard-won, but once she gives her oath of friendship her loyalty knows no boundaries. Similarly, when she falls in love, she falls hard—Mulan’s armor protects a fierce heart. “ (Source)
  • Sarah Bolger has been cast as Aurora "Anastasia." Aurora is described in the casting call as “born into a life of wealth and privilege, [she] was raised every bit the polished princess. But beneath the shiny veneer of a spoiled young girl beats the heart of a woman willing to sacrifice everything for love.” (Source)
  • There’s a new prince coming to Storybrooke. Pretty Little Liars actor Julian Morris is set to play a noble royal in a guest star role on ABC’s Once Upon a Time.
The British actor will play Prince Phillip, the prince who’s seeking to awaken Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger). He’s described as a man who’s traveled from a kingdom that’s in decline. He’s described as a young, skilled warrior and selfless hero who’s the veteran of many tough journeys. Morris also plays Wren Kingston on ABC Family’s Liars and he’s also had previous arcs on Fox’s 24 and NBC’s ER.(Source)
  • For Once Upon a Time, the role of [JACK] is being cast (as a "guest role with option"). He's in his 20s or 30s, charismatic, sexy and mysterious, but also loyal and kind, and he's running from his past in a land full of danger. (Source) Get ready to meet Jack -- as in, the one with the beanstalk. This is a guy who carries some serious emotional damage with him as he runs from his past in an unimaginably dangerous land. He's got some serious swagger, but he always keeps people at an arm's length. (Source)
  • Sinqua Walls, who as of late has been recurring on MTV’s Teen Wolf as pack member Boyd, has been cast on ABC’s fantastical sophomore drama as Sir Lancelot, TVLine has learned exclusively. I’m hearing that Once Upon a Time will introduce Lancelot as a “sword for hire with nothing to lose,” a onetime proud member of King Arthur’s Round Table who has since been banished, tearing him away from his true love (Queen Guinevere, as lore tells us). Lancelot is described as “a sword-for-hire, he’s one of the most dangerous men in Fairy Tale Land, because he’s a man with nothing to lose. In his tragic past, he was torn from his true love and banished from the king and country he served. Though he says he now serves only himself and his fee, he can’t help but be guided by his sense of honor, the memory of the man he once was and his true nobility.”. (Source)
    (Source)
  • Two more guest roles are being cast for episode 2.04, the one with Captain Hook.
Milha, a woman who's often at her village's tavern and is bored with being a wife and mother. Yearning for adventure, she joins a band of thieves.
Beaman, a criminal who deals in stolen antiques. This role may be recurring.(Source)
  • Michael Raymond-James is coming on board the second season of the hit fantasy drama in a recurring role as …Actually, we’re not certain yet. Sources will only say he’s playing a “mysterious new character”. (Source)
  • Jorge Garcia will guest star in a season two episode of ABC’s Once Upon a Time. He’ll play “The Giant." (Source)
  • Daniel (Noah Bean) will return (Source)

SEASON 2 SPOILERS
  • We will find out Dr Whale’s identity.
  • We will meet Ariel.
  • We will find out about the book and who wrote it.
  • There are “major plans” for Cora this season (possible 3-episode arc)
  • We'll learn Charming's real name.
  • @BaileeMadison I hope that means little snow will be returning to ‪#ouat‬! -YES, she is!!! I've never been more excited!!!! @FanOncer (Source)
  • _serenachan: any news on the Mad Hatter from Once Upon a Time?
Showrunner Edward Kitsis was pretty tight-lipped about season two, but did say fans will "absolutely" see Sebastian Stan in season two, so Jefferson/Mad Hatter's story is far from over. Small victories, people! (Source)
  • Question: I have a burning Once Upon a Time question — was the outside world affected when the curse was broken? —Jen
Ausiello: That’s what EP Adam Horowitz referred to as “an excellent question” when it was lobbed to him at Comic-Con over the weekend.
“I think the best way to answer that,” he responded, “is to say that that will be explicated rather quickly.” Explicate: To analyze and develop (an idea or principle) in detail. (Source)
  • Question: Any scoop on August from Once Upon a Time? Please don’t say they’re not bringing him back. —Rae
Ausiello: “We are definitely going to tell what happened to Pinocchio,” EP Edward Kitsis assured us at Con. “The last we saw, he was wood.”
Added Horowitz: “We gotta figure out what happened to him. We started the story and we intend to finish it.” (source)
  • Can't wait for Once Upon a Time to return. What's coming up? —Alan
NATALIE: Next season is all about redemption — especially considering people have done some pretty messed-up things in fairy tale land they'll now remember in Storybrooke. "Archie, for example, who is Jiminy Cricket, is a conscience, but for 28 years, he's forgotten the fact that he turned Gepetto's parents into puppets," executive producer Edward Kitsis says. "Those puppets are hanging in Mr. Gold's shop, so what happens when you're confronted with your past now? There's a lot of loss, regret and redemption for these characters to find." (Source)
  • Now the fairytale characters must contend with magic in their quest to find a way home, as new fairytale characters are revealed, old acquaintances are revisited, and some we had come to believe could be trusted will turn against their own kind. (Source)
  • Question: Any scoop on Once Upon a Time? —Rae
Ausiello: Something will happen this season that will ensure Mary Margaret and Emma get a lot of mother-daughter bonding time, whether they like it or not. Bonus clue: Think Lost.(Source)
  • Question: Okay, I’ll bite — what’s the big Lost-esque twist coming up on Once Upon a Time involving Mary Margaret and Emma? —Victoria
Ausiello: Remember how Lost would forever find new angles from which to tell a story? And you know how Once already uses flashbacks to the fairytale land that was? Well, you didn’t think they’d leave the narrative as linear as that, did you? (Source)
  • Question: Any juicy new scoops on Once Upon a Time? The second season isn’t arriving fast enough! —Trippie
Ausiello: As a power struggle ensues in the newly magically enriched Storybrooke, Episode 2 will flash back to when the Evil Queen first met Rumplestiltskin. Also, series cocreator Adam Horowitz told Matt Mitovich that the show got Sebastian Stan back as the Mad Hatter for no fewer than three of the early batch of episodes — “and he doesn’t just show up to say, ‘Hey, I’m still here.’ He has his own story, because his daughter is still out there.” (Source)
  • COMING UP NEXT | Now that Emma's a believer and everyone else knows what's what, what's next? "Part of it is going to be about how Nucky retains power over the boardwalk," hedges Adam Horowitz, who cocreated the show with Eddy Kitsis. Led back on track, he notes, "The show to us was never about breaking the curse and getting memories back. It was about larger conflicts, some of which were introduced last season and some which we'll introduce very soon." One epic clash, of course, involves Rumplestiltskin and the Evil Queen, who took her own pleasure in seeing that purple smoke sweep through town. "They have this weird thing where they keep f—king each other over, yet they still seem to need each other," notes Kitsis. Case in point: Rumple has reunited with his true love, "so whatever Regina was saving Belle for just went away. And I have a feeling Rumple is going to want revenge." And while fairytale characters such as Sleeping Beauty, Mulan and Captain Hook will join the narrative, Horowitz promises, "It's all in service of the larger story we've been telling, centered on Snow White, Charming, their daughter Emma and their relationship with the Queen and Rumplestiltskin." (Source)
  • TVLINE BONUS SPOILER | An unexplored part of Snow White's past apparently includes one memorable knight. "Lancelot (played by Teen Wolf's Sinqua Walls in at least three episodes) has a, uh, very 'complicated' relationship with Snow," Kitsis teases. "The two of them have a secret that I'm not sure Charming knows." (source)
  • Question: I am dying to know what’s going to happen to Belle on Once Upon A Time. Got anything you can share? —Donald
Ausiello: Freshly plucked out of her hospital cellar confines and thrust into the orbit of the purple smoke-conjuring Mr. Gold, Emilie de Ravin’s beauty is in for quite a bit of culture shock as Season 2 opens. Is somewhere inside this Rumplestiltskin the same imp she fell in love with in the other realm? “Rumple has always been a character who has had to choose between love and power, and he has always chosen power,” series co-creator Eddy Kitsis reminds. “So now that Belle, this wild card, has come into his life, how will it affect his meticulous plan? And which path will he now choose because of it?” (Source)
  • Belle doesn't look too happy with Rumple in the Once Upon a Time clips. —Joan
    NATALIE:
She isn't! Belle's mere presence will be an unforeseen complication for Rumplestiltskin. "Gold is a meticulous man, as is Rumplestiltskin, and he had a plan that he has been enacting," executive producer Adam Horowitz says. "The wild card was Belle because he never, ever thought she was going to be coming back, and he is a man who has, in the past, always chosen power over love. I think he's on a mission, and here he has a second chance with the woman he always regretted letting go." (Source)

Charming even need to be aware and be careful!

Some of them will call each other by their FTL names (like snow and charming since it makes no sense for them to call each other david and MM), but a lot of them don't know each other and most of them will keep their SB, like Ruby for exemple (she's called Ruby by others, and Dr Whale is called Dr Whale too, so on). Red and Snow are very close so it makes sense they call each other Red and Snow, but most of them will be called by their SB names.

Oh I really hated George......and not the kind of "I love to hate him" thing that I feel for Regina.

Badass Granny - I love that, lol.

I kind of like that they'll stick for the most part with their SB names.......obviously with certain exceptions.

I wonder what Henry and Emma will be calling them? Emma might want to call her MM until she's more comfortable with the whole situation. Henry will probably want to call them Snow and Charming or Grandma and Granddad

Yeah, I don't mind the SB names either. It makes sense considering that the characters will be struggling with their Storybrooke personas and their Fairytale land personas. So, I expect there to be a little confusion at first.

I don't like King George at all. Ugh.

There's a lot of stories I'm looking forward too but I'm all about that Emma episode.

I like Grandpa and Grandma, lol, though they look way too young to be called that, lol. I don't know, that's an interesting question, lol.

He's not a judge, I believe he's the prosecutor. Hmm, and Gold is an atty.......apparently a defense atty, so yeah - think they might butt heads?

Well, I doubt Emma would be comfortable enough to refer to everyone by their fairytale names. The situation is probably still way too insane for her. I will find it a little strange if Snow and Charming start referring to each other as David and MM though, unless they were doing it for Emma's benefit.
