THE AFTERMATH — After George confesses his feelings to Zoe (Rachel Bilson), she finds herself having to make a tough decision between George (Scott Porter) and Wade (Wilson Bethel), leaving the two guys at odds on how to handle the situation. In search of some much needed girl advice, Zoe makes a new fast friend in former BlueBell resident Ruby Jeffries (guest star Golden Brooks), who no one is excited to see. Lemon (Jaime King) decides it’s time to get her own apartment and a job, but it’s tougher than she thought. Continuing to forge ahead with her new life, Lemon proceeds to return the wedding presents, but a sudden detour to Zoe’s while holding a cake knife creates a stir with the townspeople. [source]

Zoe is seen in the town as a home-wrecker. Wade is very mad in the aftermath of the finale's events. Zoe asks him to tell her how he feels and he says he does't want to compete to be her boyfriend. He also makes the comment that their sleeping together was a B- at best. Lemon wants to get out on her own, leave her parents house, and she gets a waitressing job at the Rammer Jammer. Ruby, an African-American in her early 30s, is described as gorgeous and sophisticated,” a successful cosmopolitan businesswoman who returns to Bluebell after selling off her cosmetics line over in Atlanta. Ruby was Lavon’s high school sweetheart.

GOOD INTENTIONS WITH QUESTIONABLE RESULTS — Zoe (Rachel Bilson) is trying hard to stay away from Wade (Wilson Bethel), but when Rose (guest star McKaley Miller) enlists her help in throwing the first BlueBellapalooza, she is forced to ask Wade to convince his old band mate to be the musical act on short notice. Wade convinces George (Scott Porter) to start playing the field and agrees to be his wingman, but when Wade stands him up, he decides to follow the seemingly questionable advice solo. Meanwhile, Brick (Tim Matheson) tries to trick Lemon (Jaime King) into working for him, but she is determined to keep her waitressing job, that is until one of her customers ends up needing medical attention. Zoe’s definitely jealous. I can’t tell much from the sides, but it seems Zoe still has those lingering feelings for George but wants to be with Wade and Wade’s set on giving her the cold shoulder and being cranky about it all. I mean, they’re not on that bad of terms, they’re talking, but Wade’s a bit hostile. Zoe, Wade and Rose go meet Lilly Anne, some old friend of Wade’s, who plays in a band and Rose wants her to play for her for some contest or whatever. Zoe’s jealous of Lilly Anne and Wade’s bitther because Zoe still has some feelings for George. Zoe and Wade are talking though, but it’s a la early season 1 style? Meanwhile george’s busy having a bunch of scenes with Lemon and they seem to be getting along better.” (from ~lipstick)

Zoe seems to be continuing to press Wade about his feelings for her. He still seems to be denying anything due to her feelings for George. Zoe seems to at least want to be back in Wade’s good graces and possibly something more. There is some rivalry between Ruby and Lemon over a guy at a bar. Lemon attempts to go out on a date. George is out on a date and Brick isn’t happy about it.

Zoe goes out on a date with Ruby's cousin. She is more into making Wade jealous/notice her than really participating in her date. Wade seems to not really understand why she is trying to get a reaction from him so he doesn't engage her. George is busy trying to break up with Shelby. Lemon is acting as Lavon's campaign manager. Lemon and Lavon have quite the adventure together at the Dixie Stop.

Halloween theme episode. There is something going on with George, perhaps medically? It isn't really clear. Lavon is working to get votes with help from Lemon and AnnaBeth. Single George seems to be very popular. It seems like Zoe and Wade have some sort of agreement that involves exclusivity.
