Actually, since Josh Dallas himself claims not to even know what Charming's "real" name is (as he indicated via twitter when the episode originally aired) I think it's safe to say Richard isn't it, either. It may have been their original intention, or possibly a fake-out to confuse the spoiler sites, but it isn't the name they apparently kept for the final shooting script.

Possible--but it's also likely that they ultimately chose to reveal the name at a later time at a different point in the story, and therefore removed "Richard" from that episode's script.

The fact that he wasn't called "Richard" in that episode doesn't prove the writers changed their mind about his name at all.

I don't like the name Richard for him either I would have preferred for the twin to be called Richard and for Charming to be called James.

What is a Richard supposed to look like? I think the name suits him just fine. As Juliet said--and I'm sure Snow White would agree--"a rose by any other name would smell as sweet..."
