The OC S/S #30: Because we like it under the sea!

Banner by NZOCFan

Welcome to The O.C.'s Spoiler and Speculation thread!

The show has moved to a new date and time: Thursdays at 8pm ET (both in the U.S. and Canada).

Scripts for various episodes can be found on Fanbolt or TWOP

Episode 2.23 - The O.Sea - May 12th

Sandy and Caleb confront Kirsten about her behavior. Ryan, looking for the truth about Trey (guest star Marshall-Green) and Marissa, heads home to Chino. Meanwhile, Summer won't let her love triangle with Zach and Seth get in the way of her attending the prom, and Julie and Caleb toast to their final evening together as husband and wife.

Guest Stars: Michael Cassidy (II) (as Zach) Logan Marshall-Green (as Trey Atwood)

Summer goes to prom with Zach. Seth is devastated. Zach and Summer get named prom king and queen, only Zach is nowhere to be found. Seth then grabs a mic, and does a heartfelt speech to Summer, and gets a slowdance and a long kiss for his troubles by her. Ending there angstfest that is to come and officially starting over as a couple.

Lucas will guest star as himself on the episode, in which Summer (Rachel Bilson) makes Zach (Michael Cassidy) and Seth (Adam Brody) decide which one of them gets to take her to Harbor High's prom. But when Lucas expresses interest in Seth's graphic novel, he is forced to choose between taking Summer to the prom and dinner with Lucas.

WELCOME TO THE O.C., SITH!: Star Wars director George Lucas will guest-star as himself on The O.C.'s May 12 episode, Fox confirms. In the episode, Lucas expresses interest in Seth's (Adam Brody) "graphic novel," which leads Ryan's better half to make a difficult decision regarding Summer. Things become even more complicated when Lucas invites Seth to dinner and gives him some wordly advice. I'm guessing it sounded something like this: "Seth, man, if you missed 24 last night, get a tape. Chloe was fierce!"

05/10 - In the episode, Lucas expresses interest in the graphic novel created by Newport Beach teen Seth Cohen (Adam Brody), which forces Seth to make a difficult decision about his relationship with classmate Summer (Rachel Bilson). To make things more complicated, Lucas invites Seth to dinner and offers him advice. "I play myself in the episode," Lucas says. "I'm in a restaurant, and I'm being pitched a comic book to turn into a movie. ... They've been fun to work with. The nice thing about television, it's a community. So everybody knows everybody, and everybody's worked with everybody. Everybody's much more relaxed. It's a much easier environment to work in." "In this episode," Schwartz says, "It's our junior prom. It's the 'Under the O-Sea' theme, which I've borrowed from 'Back to the Future.' Seth has to make the choice that all teenage guys have to make: Do you go to prom, or do you go meet with George Lucas? I think it's a universal quandary that we've all faced at some point in our lives." Source: Zap2it

Episode 2.24 -The Dearly Beloved- May 19th

**SEASON FINALE**

Sandy must make a life-changing decision to save his and Kirsten's marriage. Seth, Summer, Marissa and Ryan are caught in the crossfire at the Bait Shop, and Jimmy Cooper (guest star Tate Donovan), worried about Marissa and his family, rushes home to Newport Beach.

Guest Stars: Tate Donovan (as Jimmy Cooper)

Theresa's maternity leave comes to an end. We don't know exactly when though.

Meanwhile, on the off chance it should help in your supersleuthing, I'll share what Josh Schwartz (The O.C.'s boss and future husband of most of my single female friends) says of the Newport gang's season-ender on May 19. "We're just gonna get nuttier and zanier, and we're going to end the season with a real live cliffhanger," he reveals. "Unlike last year, which was a little bit more of an emotional cliffhanger that had to sustain us over a really long period of time, this year is gonna be a more honest-to-goodness 'I can't believe they just did that!' shocker." He laughs. "Now I have a lot of hype to live up to. I'm screwed."

05/10 - The season finale of "The O.C." is also coming out on Thursday, May 19, and Schwartz says, "Season finale is going to be big, and it's going to be emotional, and it's going to be exciting. It kind of reminds me of the Tijuana episode we did last year. It's going to have all the emotion of last year's finale, but with a lot more action. It's going to be pretty surprising. "I didn't turn in the last page. No one from the cast or the crew got the last page. There might be a couple characters coming back from the past, sort of revisiting the show, and I think not who everyone will be expecting to see." Source: Zap2it

From Ask Ausiello:

Question: Is it true that Oliver is coming back to The O.C.? — Bec

Ausiello: You mean the character formerly known as Josh Schwartz's Shameless Plot Device? Sadly, yes, I'm hearing he's coming back — and suffice it to say I'm not happy. The O.C. came thisclose to jumping the you-know-what when they introduced Marissa's deranged rehab buddy last season, and I thought Josh had learned his lesson. Luckily, it appears Ollie is just returning for the final episode, which, coincidentally, finds Seth, Summer, Marissa and Ryan caught in some kind of crossfire at the Bait Shop. Great, not only is Psycho Boy back, but someone went and gave him a gun?!?!

Question: I heard someone's gonna die on The O.C. — Bridget

Ausiello: It's true. My colleague Rochell Thomas thinks Linda Lavin's Nana is gonna kick the bucket, but my money's on Caleb. Consider the facts: The dude's already suffered a heart attack this season. Caleb's portrayer, Alan Dale, has been cast in a WB pilot, Bow. His death would make Julie heir to his fortune, setting up scads of juicy story possibilities as we head into fall. And last but not least, Gramps is a little old for The O.C. But that's just a guess.

Question: Love you, love the column. Any O.C. dirt? — Rebecca

Ausiello: Jimmy (Tate Donovan) returns in the season finale to be at his family's side during, um, a crisis (see above for more). Also, Sandy must make a life-changing decision to save his and Kirsten's marriage. It seems Mrs. Cohen starts hitting the sauce a little too hard.

Season Three Spoilers:

And, she hopes, like a real mother to Marissa and Kaitlin. Of her younger TV daughter, whose extended absence has been the fodder of jokes among "O.C." fans, Clarke hints that there may be a payoff next season.

"I think next year we'll all be pleasantly surprised to get a lot more information about what's going to happen with Kaitlin," Clarke says. "And from what I understand, she might miraculously have gotten older, too, but you didn't hear that from me.

"I've heard a few other rumors, but you probably wouldn't want to quote me on those. Josh is good at keeping secrets, but I feel pretty certain by the middle of next season, the audience will find out what's going on with Kaitlin."

05/10 - Regarding plans for next year, Schwartz says, "Year three, for us, is going to be senior year, so obviously that's a huge event in these kids' lives, and for their parents as well. So we'll be dealing with all sorts of things, like what does the future hold, college, graduation, all those kind of gigantic, kind of epic events in high school life." Source: Zap2it

Aww the prom stuff might be sweet. But S/S have been written terribly so far, am I supposed to feel any emotion for them? So, whats gonna happen when they reunite AGAIN? Are they gonna break up at the beginning of S3? Good writing, they won't. Bad writing, they will. It's getting old, Schwartz.

i was excited at the beginning of the season, lost interested in the middle, and now i'm back into it...but what's going on with julie and caleb? is he going after her or is she going after him? (in terms of killing). and when ryan heads back home, is that where he sees theresa? that's the moment i've been waiting for. but it seem like he wouldn't see her until the finale, but everyone gets involved in the bait shop hold-up in the finale. argh! need more spoilers!

Who is Kyle? IMDB has him listed a a regular cast member.

Someone on LJ said ET said George Lucas will be playing himself on the May 12th episode.

Lastly, I hope Seth or Summer gets shot

Kyle's the drug dude, isn't he?

Summer should get shot. And she could be in the hospital and Seth would SOB. Me and Tay have it planned all out. Work with me, Josh!

That picture

Seth has tears in his eyes and Summer looks so shocked - it's just gonna be so good. I guess all the awful S/S episodes before it will be worth it. I really can't wait!

I'm intrigued as to who the shooter in the Bait Shop is, no doubt we'll get one of the four main characters shot and it left on a cliffhanger, my guess is one of the boys, and then next season they'llmagically recover. I really hope we get some non-angst for S/S in season three, they deserve some good moments together and Josh expect any of the audience to take his writing of those two seriously then he really has to show S/S being a couple and not constantly breaking up cos after a while Seth screwing up then Summer taking him back is not gonna be believable anymore.

I'm so happy that Jimmy is coming back!!! I love his character and I'm hoping for some Jimmy/Julie love.

If you saw the last preview Marissa is kissing someone and I think is Trey because his hair is dark. Other thing!!! OUR WISH CAME TRUE!!! In the preview Trey appears shirtless! TOO HOT!
