NCIS:Los Angeles S&S #1

General NCIS: Los Angeles Spoilers:

CBS Developing NCIS Spin-Off

CBS has quietly started developing a NCIS spin-off reports Michael Ausiello. Although a spokesperson for the show declined to comment, Ausiello reveals that a new crop of naval sleuths will likely be introduced in an episode of NCIS later this season and launched into their own show as early as next fall. It’s still in the early stages, and no final decisions have been made about the premise or the setting. The NCIS offshoot will likely put on hold CBS’ long-gestating Criminal Minds spin-off.

Main Characters Revealed For Proposed NCIS Spin-Off

Michael Ausiello has scooped a rundown of the main characters for the proposed NCIS spin-off. Without filming slated to start in late February 2009, CBS should start announcing the cast soon.

Callen is an average Joe in his 30s . . . or so he’d have you believe. In reality, he’s a human Transformer who can change personas as easily as you or I change clothes.

Clara Macy is a tough former MP in her early 40s whose tender side shows in the way she plays mother hen to her colleagues.

Nate “Doc” Getz, 30, is an operational psychologist who, underneath his razor-sharp wit, is as soft-hearted as they come.

Kensi Lo is a twentysomething Asian-American whose academic record in forensics and criminology got her recruited young by the Feds.

Sam Hanna, an African American (or Middle Eastern — depends on the actor) ex-Navy SEAL, is in his 40s and the team’s only married member. So, between that and his stints in Afghanistan and Iraq, you just KNOW he can handle himself in combat.

Dominic Vaile is a thirtysomething surveillance expert who’s still experiencing separation anxiety in the wake of his exit from the Navy.

CBS Moving Forward With NCIS Spinoff

CBS is moving forward with a NCIS spinoff, shooting a pilot that will launch as an episode of the series - just as NCIS launched as an episode of JAG. “Its happening, we’re doing it,” said CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler. “We’ve seen an outline and we’re going to cast and shoot it.”

CBS Eyeing O’Donnell And LL Cool J For NCIS Spin-Off

Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J are in talks to star in CBS’ NCIS spinoff. O’Donnell would play Callen, an average guy born to do undercover work as the ultimate chameleon, taking on different identities. LL Cool J is eyed for the role of Sam Hannah, a former U.S. Navy Seal who is tough but charming. O’Donnell and LL would be the first actors to climb aboard the high profile project; four other roles are still being cast. Once assembled, the new team will be introduced in an episode of NCIS to air later this season before being launched into their own show next fall.

Show Synopsis

NCIS: LOS ANGELES is a drama about the high stakes world of undercover surveillance at the Office of Special Projects (OSP), a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation's security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets. Special Agent "G" Callen (Chris O'Donnell) is a chameleon who transforms himself into whomever he needs to be to infiltrate the criminal underworld. His partner is Special Agent Sam Hanna (LL COOL J), a former U.S. Navy SEAL who has seen action in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and a surveillance expert who uses state of the art monitoring equipment to look out for those in the field and feed them crucial information. Both Callen and Hanna report to Special Agent Lara Macy (Louise Lombard), the OSP team leader responsible for directing the operations and making life-or-death decisions. Assisting the team is Special Agent Kensi Lo (Daniela Ruah), the exceptionally bright daughter of a slain Marine who lives for the adrenalin rush that comes with undercover work, and Operational Psychologist Nate Getz (Peter Cambor), adept at getting into anybody's head, profiling the target and monitoring agents' states of mind before, during and after missions. Armed with the latest in high tech gear and sent regularly into life-threatening situations, this tight-knit team relies on each other to do what is necessary to protect national interests.

Thanks for starting the thread

I'm a very big NCIS fan and I'm actually pretty excited about this show, even though it is going to be different than the original. I can't wait until we start getting more news and spoilers for the show.

Thanks for starting the new thread.

I have to say this was the first I have heard of a spin-off but if they can have this new show be half as good as the original, then there is all sorts of promise to it.

I am a tad bit bitter (ok, ALOT) that CBS made ANOTHER NCIS and cancelled Without A Trace but I'll probably watch this show anyway since I watch the original.

Have they announced who is taking over Louise Lombard's role yet? Or a similar character with a different actress like they did with Kate Todd after the initial JAG ep?

I was surprised they cancelled Without A Trace, but I don't blame NCIS LA for that, when other shows are popping up, have popped up on CBS. CSI has been spin-offed and Law and Order, so I don't find this unusual.

I already like the partner/buddy chemistry between Chris O' Donnell and LL Cool J.

I read veteran actress Linda Hunt will be a supervisor on NCIS:LA, but as a different role.
