That seems random. What's the story on that? Why would that happen?

So was the original plan for her to sing with someone else (Maddie? Rayna? Deacon?) but they had to go to the hospital so Luke fills in? Otherwise it seems kind of random. And on principle, disappointing that the first time Daphne gets something on her own with someone besides Maddie that it'd be with Luke.

yeah I think the original plan was the usual Maddie/Daphne duet and Luke filled in, at least that is what makes sense to me. And he makes more sense than Layla for example. I sure hope they aren't singing a Maddie/Daphne original because I remember the mess that was the Juliette/Luke duet on dirt so I can only imagine how he could destroy one of those. That is of course assuming it's him but I can't think of who else it would be.

I honestly can't imagine Luke trying to take Maddie's part in any of the girls' duets sounding anything but awkward. The girls' songs are built on Stella sister harmonies. And the lyrics of most of them would be weird for her to sing with Luke. That's why I also tossed out Rayna and Deacon as suggestions. Something she was meant to sing with either of them would likely be far less awkward to replace with Luke.

It seems a little odd that Daphne didn't go to the hospital too? I mean, it's not a great place for a child to be but she might start to feel out of the loop because Deacon is Maddie's dad.

Also the scenes at the Bluebird they were supposed to film today got canceled because one of the actors is sick

Yes it does. But maybe Luke feels bad when he hears about Deacon and agrees to fill in for being a jerk. They were friends
