I wonder if this is the closest she can get to her happy ending, because she doesn't have much time left - if Deacon's cancer diagnosis is real.

Ugh. This Layla stuff. I didn't expect them to take it to such a dramatic level at the end there.

My boss was telling me how excited she is that Layla is finally dead. And I just don't want to be the bearer of bad news...

Yes! I loved that contrast. Should be pretty great.

I'm also curious to see who comes out worse in the public eye. Rayna who did the dumping or Luke who goes crazy and breaks things and fights Deacon.

They had Javery, Deacon, Reyna, Gunner, Scarlette and jeff and Will w yes I mnow Layla lol, but teddy making the right choice finally was good so no more hooker=happy, Rayna dumps luke=thank god happy fans, Micah is gone=more happy fans, Deacons illness= of course he isn't going to die and great story's ahead, Scarlette w Deacon and gunner=no more homeless guy, and tandy is back!! So I'm looking at the positives here. While sure it had its gloom what we've wanted basically happened.

Realistically, Rayna. Fans are unfortunately notoriously lax about male celebs getting out of control or even violent- look how many fans Chris Brown still has. Hell, if I didn't know Luke, I'd probably feel sorry for him- I don't have much respect for waiting until literally your wedding day to realize getting married isn't a good idea.

But on this show, where Rayna got almost zero flack for Madie's paternity? Who knows, lol.

I thought what they had Pete do was a little much.. I know things like this happen on life but never anyyhing I care to actually see, that was probably the only storyline from the eps I that coulda been left out, now and in the future. Maybe she will run and hide again? Yay

The media is swarming Rayna in 311. And from what people have posted about the sides for 312 it's a couple weeks later, Rayna's kind of disappeared from view since the non-wedding day and rumors have been swirling. That she might have run off with Deacon, that she's in rehab etc. So it would appear that since she's been doing so much letting the media in lately this one isn't going away quite as easily. But she also seems to be going back to limiting her interaction with the media. Which I think makes it significantly less fun for them if she won't be provoked into giving them something else to run with.

Can't stand Luke, but, to be fair, if your intended cancelled your wedding, hours before it was supposed to happen, AND, it was supposedly the celebrity wedding of the year; I can see wanting to smash the Cake, among other things

But was it a good Cake? One of those confections, where you feel your teeth rotting, with the first bite of frosting; no big deal. But a really good Cake, now that's a Sad waste of calories!

I was thinking if Deacon has scirosis of the liver wouldn't he have a shade of yellow to him? I'm yet to see anyone w scirosis not have a little shade of yellow to their skin or pupils, any serious liver disorder actually. I know that seems silly but so is trying to sell us scirosis after being sober for 14yrs. So, I'm thinking his liver count was high due to the kinda of cancer he has, hmm. I know may be pointless but I kept thinking about it annoying me..

'Nashville' Showrunner on Deacon's Devastating News, Layla's Future, Season 4 - The Hollywood Reporter

Interesting article from a show runner about where the show is headed and also a recap of Last nights show. At the end of the article it sounds to me like she/he is saying that we are finally going to get back to D&R being a main storyline again, major interaction maybe after break.
