SpoilerTV gives us snippets found in the July 23 edition of TV Guide: When Hiro meets Kensei, he discover that "the storybooks have exaggerated" and "Kensei isn't the kind of man Hiro idolized." According to Masi, "This will put Japan's future at stake, so Hiro has to make Kensei into the one of legend." The producers told Masi that while Hiro is in the past, "something terrible will be happening in the present, maybe because Hiro wasn't there. 07/18 - Masi Oka, who plays time-traveling hero Hiro Nakamura on NBC's Heroes , told SCI FI Wire that his character will remain in Japan for a while and will have a parallel story separate from the rest of the show when the second season kicks off in the fall. "Season two is going to begin with two parallel timelines going on," Oka said in an interview at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 17. "One starting four months after the explosion and another-mainly Hiro's storyline-starting 400 years in the past. And we'll see how they kind of affect each other." At the end of the hit show's first season, Oka's character found himself transported back in time to 16th-century Japan. According to Oka, Hiro will spend at least eight episodes there before returning to the present. There, he will encounter some of the characters from the stories of his childhood, including the legendary samurai Takezo Kensei, who will be played by David Anders (Sark from ABC's Alias ). The show is currently finishing the third episode of the upcoming season. "There's a princess," Oka said. "Princess Iako, played by [Japanese pop star] Eriko Tamura, who's going to be in that world, as well as David Anders, who plays Takezo Kensei. That was Hiro's childhood hero that he's always heard about these stories. But David Anders, last time we checked, he was Caucasian. So there's a mystery there." Source: Sci Fi Wire

Now there probably won't be anything else until Comic-Con.

Oh, and STILL nothing about the Petrelli brothers.

Well, luckily, I was wrong about no other spoilers until Comic-Con.

07/19 - Ali Larter, who plays the dual-personality Jessica/Niki on NBC's hit Heroes, told SCI FI Wire to expect her character to channel another popular kickass female hero in the coming second season. "I've heard a little bit," Larter said about the upcoming arc for her character. "A little La Femme Nikita... I'm happy about most things they give me on the show." Source: Sci Fi Wire

First Look at the HD DVD Release

Earlier today I attended a presentation looking at some of the HD DVD features, hosted by Kevin Collins from Microsoft. Collins showed off a number of HD DVD titles, including an early "check disc" (something they use for testing purposes) from the first season of Heroes. It was the last disc in the set, and Collins showed off a number of features, though nowhere near all of them.

These features are accessed by pressing the "A" button on the remote, which brings up a little "U" in the lower-right corner of the screen, with options popping up from it. The first feature was the "Character Connections" screen. This is essentially an image of a bulletin board that has photos of the characters, with strings depicting the connections between the characters. Selecting a character with the remote will bring up bio information. The next feature is something I haven't seen mentioned before; artwork presentations. The viewer is able to view Issac's paintings while a scene is playing. Close-ups of the photos were available, and the user could scroll around them with the remote (the image we saw was broken up into 4 parts). I assume this material is only available during scenes where artwork is visible; we were watching a scene set in Issac's studio. The third feature would display the hidden helix (you know, the cool tattoo that the "Heroes" have) when it's in a scene. We only saw it in one scene as the Heroes part of the demo was approx 5 mins out of an hour-long presentation.

Collins showed us some of his favorite scenes, using the bookmarking ability of HD DVD, and the picture quality was very, very nice, better than the NBC HD feed I watched during the season.

This was part of a special series of sessions for members of the Home Theater Forum, the Digital Bits, and TVShowsOnDVD.com that was organized as part of the Entertainment Merchants Association show in Las Vegas.

Set comes out on August 28

Masi Oka's Interview with TV Guide

The characters on Heroes will leap forward four months when the show returns on September 24–everyone, that is except Hiro. The time-tripping fanboy, played by Masi Oka, was suddenly teleported to 1671 Japan in the cliff-hanger of last May’s finale. The Season 2 premiere will find him right where we left him–stuck in the middle of samaurai who are about to wage war.

Immediate danger aside, isn’t this Hiro’s dream come true?
Mine, too. It’s the dream of many Japanese boys. We grow up playing samurai like kids in the U.S. play cowboys. Even the crime prodeurals on Japanese TV are set in feudal Japan.

Will you spill some exclusive scoop?
Next season, Hiro meets the legendary warrior Kensei, his hero from childhood, but it turns out the storybooks have exaggerated. Kensei isn’t the kind of man Hiro idolized. This will put Japan’s future at stake, so Hiro has to make this Kensei into the one of legend.

Keep reading, click on

Alias’ David Anders has been cast as Kensei, but he isn’t Japanese. What’s with that?
If you remember, Kensei didn’t look Japanese in the ancient tapestry [seen in Season 1]. But I have no idea where the writers are going with this. Here’s another mystery: They told me something terrible will be happening in the present, maybe because Hiro wasn’t there. When he returns to modern day, he’s in for the shock of his life.

Heroes has also hired Japanese pop star Eriko Tamura to play a feudal princess. Do we detect a hint of romance in the air?
She’ll fall in love with Hiro, but this will be a disaster because she is supposed to fall in love with Kensei. Eriko is very famous in Japan–not quite a Britney Spears, more a like a Kelly Clarkson.

First Charlie from the diner, now this. Is Hiro doomed to fall in love with the right girls at the wrong time?
I think that’s going to be the nature of every romantic story for Hiro. When the writers decide they’re done with me, I hope they send Hiro back in time where he can live forever in a an infinite time loop with one of his women. Or maybe all of them! It can be like Big Love. “I’ll be right back, Charlie. I’m going to run next door and see the princess!”

Masi Oka Dishes Spoilers

Currently in production of the second season's third episode, Heroes will find Oka's Hiro in the past for at least eight episodes. Oka indicated that the event of his time line will impact the future as well.

Other sources have already revealed that Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) story will pick up far from where it left off as the teenager and her fathers HRG (Jack Coleman), who we now know as Noah, begin their life over in California. So far, Heroes big wigs have been tight lipped about the fate of the rest of Heroes' characters. Oka is not so tight lipped at all.

"Season two is going to begin with two parallel timelines going on, One starting four months after the explosion and another—mainly Hiro's storyline—starting 400 years in the past. And we'll see how they kind of affect each other." Oka said at the Television Critics Association press tour.

In Hiro's time trip, he will meet up with his child hood hero, the Samurai master Takezo Kensei who will be played, conspicuously, by David Anders. It was previously rumored that Anders would be playing the part of a thousand year old villain by the name of Kane. It is looking increasingly possible that both are true. [Emphasis added.]

Hiro will also be finding love in the past in the form of Japanese pop star Eriko Tamura, who will be playing a princess in distress. The fact that Hiro will be in the past for eight episodes likely means we will not be seeing James Kyson Lee's Ando until sometime near mid-season. Oka has already stated that Hiro will draw Ando back into the adventure. [Emphasis added.]

Heroes at NBC Bash

In between press interviews, Heroes cheerleader Hayden Panettiere was encouraged to eat — "force fed," she said, by her two TV "dads," Adrian Pasdar and Jack Coleman. "They've been like eat, eat!"

Though it may have seemed that Pasdar's character died in last season's finale, he will be back sporting a bushy beard that in real life has proved a hit with Pasdar's sons, Jackson, 6, and Beckett, 3. "Both of them want to know if they can have their own beards for Christmas," Pasdar said. Less thrilled with her husband's bushy look is real-life wife Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks. "She kinda wants it to go away," he said. "She misses my smooth face."

Co-star Masi Oka previewed that his character, Hiro, eventually will come face to face with his character's long referenced but never seen Japanese childhood hero, Takezo Kensei. The mysterious part will be played by actor David Anders, who, Oka pointed out, "is a white guy." But that's OK by Oka because the character "is someone pretending to be Asian, so it makes sense in the story's context."

Oka was less thrilled with the stereotypical Japanese character comedian Rob Schneider plays in the new Adam Sandler comedy feature, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, opening Friday. "I didn't agree with that," said Oka. "It was very funny, but it wasn't smart funny. I don't understand why an Asian guy couldn't have played it. You didn't need to have the (slant) eyes and the buck tooth trying to be a 'yellow face,' as we call it."

Heroes' Ali Larter is dating an actor with whom she stars in an upcoming movie. But she chose to keep his identity hush-hush. "I am mum about the whole thing," said Larter. "He's mine and only mine, and I don't share, but he's gorgeous!"

On the small screen, Larter's Heroes character will no longer be switching personalities by looking at her reflection. "No more mirrors," she happily announced. [Emphasis added.]

Heroes villain Zachary Quinto showed his soft side, talking about reuniting last weekend with his So NoTORIous co-star Tori Spelling, who introduced him to her 4-month-old, Liam. Quinto raved over the cuteness factor of Spelling's tot.

Quote:
TV Guide: The second season of Heroes started production this week. I understand you get a new boyfriend?

Hayden: It has been fabulous. His name is Nicholas D'Agosto (see related Q&A). He is really fun and sweet. He is not my boyfriend yet; he is a new guy who is turning into a friend. The season opens four months after we last saw them and a lot has happened and there are big pieces of the puzzle we need to figure out. We have no idea if Peter [Milo Ventimiglia] or Nathan [Adrian Pasdar] are alive or dead. We still don't know.

'Hero' started at Tufts
Tufts University in Medford has matriculated some famous names in Hollywood including William Hurt, Hank Azaria of "The Simpsons" and Rainn Wilson of "The Office." A few more thespians and movers-and-shakers can be added to the list. Sendhil Ramamurthy, who plays dreamy genetics professor Mohinder Suresh on NBC's "Heroes," is a 1996 graduate. "Tufts, quite frankly, is why I started acting," Ramamurthy said the other night at a rooftop party at the Beverly Hilton to celebrate NBC's new and returning shows. A former competitive tennis player, the 33-year-old had no previous interest in acting and was pre-med at Tufts. "I had to have the arts credit to graduate, so I took 'Intro to Acting' because I thought it would be easy." ("Heroes" writer Joe Pokaski and newly installed NBC Entertainment co chair Ben Silverman are also Jumbos.) Ramamurthy couldn't reveal too much about the upcoming season of the show, but did hint that Dr. Suresh may not be the good guy we think he is. [Emphasis added.]
Need I say it? Nothing new on the Petrellis ... the beard is old news. *heavy sigh*

Oh and Heroes was nominated for 8 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Drama. For other nominations the show received, see the News thread on the Heroes board. The complete list of Emmy nominations can be found here.

From the Daily Chronicle Online ...

Quote:
The whole cast of “Heroes” turned out for the party, except for Milo Ventimiglia - poor, dead Peter Petrelli. Or is he? Asked to “tell everything,” Jack Coleman (minus HRG's horn-rimmed glasses) ducked and covered and then mentioned that he thought Milo was absent because he was working.

“Working where?”

“On ‘Heroes.'”

As for HRG, who got a name - Noah - in the season finale, Coleman isn't so sure. “Maybe I said ‘call me Noah,' but my name is Harry.”

Masi Oka (Hiro) was walking a little stiffly. He's been riding a horse for the first time, for the season opener, and can't get a grip on it. “You bounce up and down. The first time, I was sore for at least two days.”
From SpoilerTV ...

Milo is supposed to be on TRL next Wednesday, maybe we will finally get a little bit of information about Peter. Although, I believe his appearance is to promote something else he is involved with.[/quote]

Quote:

During the press conference on the "Heroes" set, a reporter noted that Leonard Roberts, whose character, D.L. Hawkins, was badly wounded by a gunshot in the season finale, was absent. Creator Tim Kring suggested we shouldn't read too much into that, but at the same time hinted that big changes were in store for D.L.'s wife, Nikki (Ali Larter).

...
Quinto was only slightly more forthcoming, admitting, "I'm allowed to say you haven't seen the last of (power-stealing villain Sylar). But the landscape in which you find him at the beginning of season two is alarmingly different than the landscape in which you found him at the end of season one."

(A reporter asked whether it would be alarming for Sylar or the viewers; Quinto said, "Both, I'd imagine. But definitely for him.")

In Mohinder's room, there's a cot in the bedroom for — well, no one's saying for sure. But there's also a little girl's room all decked out in butterflies and ponies that we suspect is for "tracking device" Molly.

...

Larter says she never understood her character Niki/Jessica's super power last year (good and evil fighting in the same body), but this year her power is more defined and her character will be less about family and more about working with the group.

7.3.7...: "Variety is reporting that "Star Trek: Enterprise" veteran Dominic Keating has joined the cast as an Irish mobster." (Brought over by Susan by way of CBR and Variety.)

7.2.7...: "Claire's moving to L.A. and getting a new guy, and Zach won't be back on Heroes." (Brought over by Susan by way of Spoilerfix who are quoting the awesome Kristen from E!ONLINE. Also, Zack will not return because that actour is currently working on the Sarah Connor Chronicles for FOX.)

6.30.7: The following is a translation of a French interview with Adrian Pasdar explaining his new kicking beard and the reasons behind it: "'Yes. My wife isn't a big fan of it but, happily, I've got the opportunity to explore my character in a different way. Nathan Petrelli's arc is going to change, it's very unexpected. No one will know where it's coming from. At the start of season two, that is really going to change [people's] perception of the character, but also [their perception] of his brother, [Nathan and Peter] are going to spend some time [apart] before finding each other [again].'" (Brought over by Susan by way of France!)

6.27.7...: The following are excerpts from a Superherohype interview of Tim Kring.

Q: Do you see the second season as being two big arch's or do you not know yet about the second half?

Kring: Well, it's designed to be three. We'll see how that works out.

Q: So will there be some kind of recap for people who didn't see last season?
Kring: Only slightly because the actual episode itself, it's an episode entitled "Four Months Later" and so we pick up the stories four months after we left off at the end of the season. There is tremendous mystery in what happened during those four months and that's part of why you're watching these first few episodes. They're revealing what actually happened. So the recap, in a way, is sort of built into the story.

Q: Will Tim Sayle be involved in Season Two?
Kring: Yes, Tim will be staying involved. So, the idea of the paintings is going to have a clever sort of reentry into the show.

Q: When you say four months later does that mean that Hiro will have been in feudal Japan for four months?
Kring: No. Hiro's story is the only one that picks up exactly where we meet him. So he's existing on a timeframe outside of the rest of the story.

Q: Will we find out that George Takei has powers and what they are?
Kring: Yes, eventually.

Q: Where's Ando right now?
Kring: Ando is pining away for his friend to return.

Q: Will James Kyson Lee get a regular status?
Kring: We're in discussions about that.

Q: Will Christopher Eccleston be back?
Kring: We love Christopher Eccleston. He's a very busy working actor and we absolutely would love to have him back and it's really about finding the time to work him in.

Q: Will we see any characters like Claire's mom come back?
Kring: Oh yes, absolutely. The smaller characters that were met along the way, some have greater significance in the second season.

Q: Could one volume focus on certain characters while others focus on others?
Kring: That's right.

Q: Is anyone complaining they don't have any work?
Kring: No, no, no. Everybody still gets woven in. It's just that the cliffhanger aspect or the finale aspect may not involve them as much as some of the other people.

Q: If you show clips [at Comic-Con], can you put it on NBC.com?
Kring: They're going to have to figure out how to make this presentation available to people in some way, shape or form I'd imagine. (Brought over by Susan by way of Superherohype.com)

6.26.7: "Ray in New York: Rumor has it that the most beautiful woman in the world, Aishwarya Rai, is doing an eight-episode stint on Heroes next season. I'll believe it when I hear it from you.
Don't believe it. According to studio sources, it's just not true.

Caitlin in Beverly Hills: Okay, please, please tell us straight, who is it that won't return to Heroes? I'm going crazy worrying that it might be Adrian.
It'll be Adrian Pasdar when pigs are flying through the sky with Nathan Petrelli." (Brought over by Susan by way of Kristen at E!online.)

Missy Peregrym Fears The Reaper
"Here's one person who won't be back for Heroes' second season: TV Guide reports that Missy Peregrym, who played "Candice" the changing-appearance girl on Heroes Season 1, has replaced Nikki Reed as the lead actress in the new CW series Reaper."

And the second is another confirmation about Shalim Ortiz.
"Another new HEROES cast member announced: Variety has announced that another actor has joined Heroes for its second season. Shalim Ortiz will be playing the brother of the character played by Dania Ramirez. He'll play 'an immigrant trying to escape his country.'"(Brought over by Susan by way of TVGuide and Variety.)

6.25.7: "If the last week we did not have sufficient with the new actors who integrated in 2ª Season of Heroes, a new incorporation arrives to us, Shalim Ortiz that to an illegal immigrant who arrives at America looking for his Mayan sister interpreted by Dania Ramirez. At the moment it will only appear in one or two chapters. As soon as we have some newness on the matter we will inform to you." (A translation of spoilers from Zona Heroes by way of Yours Truly.)

6.23.7: "We can now answer, more or less definitively, one of the burning questions about the finale of Heroes in May. To wit: Why the heck couldn't Peter fly away by himself?

'Here's how it was explained to me,' says Adrian Pasdar, who plays' Peter's (Milo Ventimiglia) brother Nathan and who ferried him to the sky to explode. 'He was unstable, unable to control his powers. And if he did fly off he wouldn't have been able to control any of the other powers he'd absorbed, most pertinently the explodability Peter got from Ted Sprague.'

One gets the sense the actors have been asked this question a couple times. Jack 'HRG' Coleman, standing next to Pasdar at a press event on the Heroes soundstage Thursday, notes that the answer was in the show: 'There was a line where he actually said, "I can't do anything."'

(The full line, which Peter says to Nathan shortly after he flies into Kirby Plaza, is 'I took his power. I can't control it. I can't do anything.')

Pasdar, Coleman and most of their fellow castmates gathered to announce a 'eroes World Tour'that will coincide with the season one DVD launch and the show's rollout in a number of other countries. Members of the cast will head out to New York, London, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore to promote the show and greet fans overseas; to kick things off, creator Tim Kring used Hiro's (Masi Oka) sword to cut into a giant, globe-shaped cake.

The tour is designed in part to introduce the show to places where it hasn't debuted yet, but according to cast member Greg Grunberg, that won't be an issue in a number of places.

'I took my wife to Paris this summer, and it hadn't premiered on TV in Paris yet, but people were stopping me all over the place because they watched it on the Internet,'says Grunberg, who plays Matt Parkman. 'That's how obsessed they are.'

Heroes fans in this country tend to be a little obsessed too, and so I set out in search of tidbits for season two. The show has been back in production for all of two days, so there's not much to tell yet. But we can offer up the following:
With the exception of the Hiro storyline, season two will pick up four months after the finale. Kring was loath to say who's alive and who's not, but it's probably a safe bet that most of the characters survived. (Incidentally, if Peter was able to put himself back together after the explosion, it looks like he decided to get a haircut too -- Ventimiglia's familiar floppy forelock was MIA Thursday.) As for Hiro, his story 'is the only one that picks up immediately. He's existing in a time frame outside of the rest of the characters.'
Hayden Panettiere has been the busiest actor in the first two days of shooting, filming scenes from, as she describes it, 'her new life.; That will eventually include a boyfriend (new recurring player Nick D'Agosto) -- 'right now he's an acquaintance,' she says -- and a couple of new cheerleader frenemies (Lyndsy Fonseca and Dianna Agron).
The show has cast eight new regular or recurring actors, expanding what was already a pretty good-sized cast. Kring says he and his fellow writers have a decent handle on how they'll weave the newcomers into the story, but they don't feel obligated to feature everyone in every episode for season two. 'We'll be able to pull back and ebb and flow, let certain characters come to the surface for an episode and then sit out an episode,' he says.

That could mean more episodes like last season's 'Company Man,' which delved deeply into HRG's history. 'The idea of being able to focus on a couple of characters is something we learned last year was a valuable thing to do, but we had to earn enough interest in those characters to be able to focus on them,' Kring says.
Kring cops to 'subterfuge' in the casting of blond-haired, blue-eyed former Alias star David Anders as samurai warrior Takezo Kensei in the Hiro-in-the-past storyline. 'Like everything on Heroes, nothing is quite what it seems to be,' he allows. 'It becomes a huge part of the story, the reveal of who this character really is.'
This year's 'Generations' theme will include more information on Hiro's dad (George Takei), Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose) and some of the other older characters. 'All these characters set up the idea that there was another generation that had secrets of its own,' Kring says. 'This season ... we're going to talk about the sins of the parents being visited on the children.'" (Brought over by Yours Truly by way of Zap2It.com.)

6.22.7: "Kring said there would not be much first-season recap in the early episodes of Season 2 because the recap is built into the story, as the second season premier picks up four months after the end of the first season. 'There's tremendous mystery in what happened in those four months, and that's why you're watching these first few episodes is because they're revealing what actually happened.' The only storyline that picks up exactly where Season 1 left off is that of Hiro, who Kring says is currently slated to spend the first several episodes in feudal Japan.

'Heroes' Volume 2, which begins with the second season premier, is entitled 'Generations.' 'Last year we set up the sense that there was this other generation represented by Linderman, and the Petrellis' mom, and George Takei, and the Richard Roundtree character, all these characters set up an idea that there was another generation that had secrets of their own, and this season, one of those themes that we're going to talk about is the sins of the parents being visited upon the children,' Kring said. 'That's one of the themes, this idea of how generationally we are left with problems that we have to fix.'

Kring said the beginning of Season 2 returns the series to one of its early touchstones: what it's like for people with extraordinary powers to lead ordinary lives. 'As opposed to the first season where it got so cranked up with the plot that that idea sort of fell by the wayside.'

And much like the beginning of Season 1, Season 2 finds the cast split up again. 'That's always been the fun I felt of the show and some of the secret of the show is the guessing and predicting and discussion about how these disparate characters are going to find their way back into each other's lives,' Kring said. 'I think that's a big chunk of what the show's success is.' (Brought over by Susan by way of CBR.)

6.20.7: Official: Heroes adds six characters.

-David Anders as samurai warrior Takezo Kensei..."Blonde, blue-eyed Oregon native David Anders, who played the evil Julian Sark on “Alias” for many a season, has been cast as Hiro Nakurma’s boyhood hero, the ancient samurai warrior Takezo Kensei. Fans will recall that Hiro took to carrying around Kensei’s very old sword before Hiro himself was unexpectedly transported to ancient Japan in the first-season finale."

The New Actors Joining the cast are:

-Eriko Tamura as Hiro's friend
-Holt McCallany as Ricky the Irish Mobster
-Barry Shabaka Henley as NYC Police Officer
-Lyndsy Fonseca as Claire's Nice friend
-Dianna Agron as Claire's Mean friend

And from Michael Ausiello @ TVGuide

Quote:Question: Heroes resumes production this week, so it only seems fair that you give us some scoop.— Janine
Ausiello: I caught up with Hayden Panettiere at last Thursday's Entourage premiere and she revealed that the first episode picks up four months after the finale. "A lot of things happened [during those four months] that people don't know about," she teased. "A lot of things changed and people will be like, 'Whoa!'" Hayden also hinted that someone did not survive the season-ending bloodbath, but check this out: NBC is holding a Heroes press conference tomorrow on the show's set, and all primary cast members will be present and accounted for. That includes Santiago Cabrera, Jack Coleman, Greg Grunberg, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, Hayden Panettiere, Adrian Pasdar, Zachary Quinto, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Leonard Roberts and Milo Ventimiglia. Hey, wait a second — someone is missing from that list! (These spoilers brought over by Meg and I by way of the Hollywood Reporter, the Ausiello Report at TVGUIDE.com, and HERC at Aintitcoolnews.com.)

6.19.7: VOLUME TWO BEGINS SHOOTING...TODAY.

6.19.7: "Nick D'Agosto has landed a major recurring role on NBC's hit sci-fi drama 'Heroes' for next season. On the Universal Media Studios series, he will play Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) boyfriend, West, who is said to have 'a very cool superpower.'"(Brought over by Susan by way of the Hollywood Reporter.)

6.18.7: "Of the Heroes Origins episodes, writer Jeph Loeb told IFMagazine that some characters introduced in those episodes may not even live to join the frey! Can we assume we might finally learn the source of some of Sylar's powers?

. Ever notice how cockroaches appear whenever Sylar is in trouble. Seems the bugs might be the minions of the thousand year old super evil dude Kane who joins Heroes this season. The part is rumored to be played by David Anders of Alias fame. Kane has a keen interest in young Sylar. Rescue bugs. Who knew!?

. Nathan Lives! Adrian Pasdar confirmed multiple times while traveling with Masi Oka that Nathan will be back next season.

. Ando will return. Hiro will spend a little time in the past to refine his skills under his personal Hero's tutorledge, but when he returns he will definitely return to Japan to rescue his buddy Ando from the cubicle jungles.

. Hiro will find a love interest in feudal Japan, and may bring her back to the future with untold consequences. The part of Hiro’s damsel in distress may be played by none other than the recently crowned Miss Universe Riyo Mori.

. As long as you have a character like Hiro, death is most certainly not the end for you on Heroes. On that note, expect to see more Isaac, Simone, and Simone's dad in season two as Peter (now equipped with time tripping abilities) journeys into the past to unravel the mystery left hanging by the season one finale." (spoilers brought over by Susan from spoilertv.heroes.blogspot. Who brought them over from Fangasm. Who brought them over from IF MAGAZINE. It's a tangled web, folks.)

6.15.7...:"Bollywood actress and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai has signed up to star in top US sci-fi serial Heroes.

The Indian babe, who recently married fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan, will appear in 8 episodes of the coming series of the NBC show revolving around a batch of super-enhanced human beings.

It has been reported that Aishwarya Rai will play the role of Dr. Mohinder Suresh’s elder sister Shanti Suresh, and will have a super-power of her own, something which has not yet been disclosed.

Aishwarya will begin shooting in Los Angeles later this month, and is expected to be seen on-screen as early as October of this year." (spoilertv.heroes.blogspot.com by way of Susan.)

6.14.7: "While 'Heroes' fans have been wondering what will become of the show's resident evil-doer Sylar, Access Hollywood breaks some news on the super-powered villain's future on the show. Zachary Quinto, who plays Sylar on the hit NBC drama, will return as a series regular next season, a rep for the actor confirmed to Access.

As Season One ended, it appeared everyone's favorite group of mutants might have finally thwarted Sylar's plans for destruction once and for all as Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) thrust his samurai sword into Sylar's chest.

However as the show ended, a quick pan back to the scene of the attack revealed a blood trail leading from where Sylar's body lay into the sewer, suggesting our villain wasn't quite done yet." (Access Hollywood by way of Susan.)

6.9.7: "In recounting the assorted opportunities which have come her way since being named Miss Universe last month, the Japan-born Riyo Mori says one 'super' job lead might find her on no less than NBC's Heroes, playing Yaeko, a new character whom she describes as a love interest for one of the main characters. "I went to the casting audition and read a script in English and Japanese, and they said it was really good," the 20-year-old dancer tells the Associated Press. 'So I hope I can be in the show.'" (Brought over by Charles by way of TV Guide.)

6.8.7...: "Of course the Tim Kring mandated gag order didn’t stop Masi Oka from revealing a possible future guest star on HEROES — his former boss at ILM — George Lucas. Oka ran into Lucas (whom he’d never met throughout his ten years working at ILM) at a recent CGI Awards dinner. Turns out, Lucas is a big fan of the show and jokingly said he’d love to play a villain, but only if he could utter the ominous words, 'kill them all!'" (Brought over by Susan by way of TV addict report from Global TV UpFront.)

Reliable inside sources connected to NBC tell me that David Anders, the ridiculously talented actor who played the ridiculously awesome Mr. Sark on Alias, is in final talks with Heroes to play a new character named Kane for the upcoming second season. (Brought over...once again...from Susan...by way of Kristen at E!ONLINE. Also, KANE, has possibly appeared iin the comic that followed "5 Years Gone." If this is indeed the case. He would be the guy with lightning power, and wearing an impressive turtleneck.)

6.5.7: James in Memphis, Tennessee: Any chance of Jayma Mays returning to Heroes? There's no telling, since her pilot didn't "go," but don't give up all hope on Hiro Nakamura's love life yet. Masi Oka tells me, "In season two, though, there'll definitely be something [romantic]." And on the subject of Hiro’s love life, I can tell you that the possibilities are opening up as we speak! Last week I was told the producers have written in a new recurring character they're calling Princess Keriyama. She first appears in the season premiere and I'm hearing she's a sexy little Japanese thing. I can just hear Hiro's reaction now: Yatta!

Ricky in Vidalia, California: I love Adrian Pasdar so much! Do you have any Heroes scoop about his character, Nathan Petrelli?
Adrian tells me of Nathan in season two, "I think there's gonna be a little bit of a journey of redemption for the sins of past, for his association with people who are probably less than good. I think there's gonna be some climbing up the moral ladder. He's gonna have to do a little bit of work."

Rhiannon in Crown Point, Indiana: Has everyone forgotten about Christopher Eccleston on Heroes? He is one of my favorite actors, and I was so excited to see him on Heroes, but he's been absent and no spoilers ever talk about him.
Don't worry—no one has forgotten about him, least of all the producers. Creator Tim Kring says of a possible Invisible Claude return, "We're not making it official, but the truth is we would love to have Christopher back. We are going to pursue it with the hopes we can do it." (From Kristen at E! by way of Susan.)

6.3.7: Dania Ramirez has been added as a regular on the series, which is returning for a second season in the Fall. Ramirez will play Maya, a new hero whose powers are being kept under wraps. (Source: The Hollywood Reporter [i][If you follow the comic closely. You may already know her powers to POSSIBLY be those of QUICKSILVER. This means she can move fast. Really...fast.][/I)]

05.31.7 - I tried to get an answer out of Greg [about whether he will return next season to the show], but he's not budging. All he'll say is the audience shouldn't "assume anything" about Matt's fate. He then added, "This will be the hardest secret I have ever had to keep during a hiatus." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide (Brought over by Charles.)

5.28.7: Volume 2 begins 9.24.7 (Brought over by ByTheSea).

...5.27.7: The yet-to-be-titled Season 2 premiere will introduce new series regular Maya, a Hispanic woman in her mid 20s. The episode will also introduce Kane, a recurring character that may become a possible regular. This man in his late 20s is referred, in the info we were given, as an ageless American with an European feel. He is said to be a charming womanizer who as a soul that seems to be older than he appears to be. A new Japanese recurring female character will be named Princess Keriyama. A few high school characters living in California will be added to the recurring cast. They are: Gay cheerleader April; charming 18-year-old West, who doesn't fit in much; May, a mean cheerleader high schooler. Other recurring characters making their first appearances in the premiere are: Georgie and Blackie, two Irish thieves, who are under orders of 45ish ringleader Ricky; friendly 40-year-old mild-mannered Bob who is said to be the "unassuming face of a very powerful organization"; NYPD detective Kincaid. (Spoilers brought over by Charles by way of TV Squad)

...5.25.7: "After ending its first season as the highest-rated new drama on TV, NBC's 'Heroes' won't be standing pat when it returns in the fall.

Though the show won't go back into production for another couple of months, it's already putting feelers out for several new characters who will pop up on the show next season. Most of them are said to be recurring roles and not cast regulars, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The possible "Heroes" include an attractive Latina and an Irish mobster, according to casting breakdowns obtained by the HR. The show is also searching for an actor to play Claire's (Hayden Panettiere) boyfriend and for an African-American woman who was a surrogate for Niki's (Ali Larter) son Micah (Noah Gray-Cabey).

Just how those characters will fit into the show's story is anyone's guess at the moment. The final scene of Monday's finale started "Volume Two" of "Heroes" (titled "Generations") and found Hiro (Masi Oka) transported back in time to Japan, circa 1671." (Source: Zap2it.com by way of the Hollywood Reporter.)

5.23.7: Question: The Heroes finale was awesome, but I'm a little worried about Peter and Nathan. Please tell me they are coming back next year.— Renee
Ausiello: (Major spoiler alert) They'll both be back next season.

Question: Whoa! What an ending for Heroes! What's the word on that creepy guy who's worse than Sylar and freaks out Molly?— Antonio Lopez
Ausiello: We'll meet the big, bad bogeyman early next season, and word on the street is the role's already been cast. (Brought over by Susan by way of Michael Ausiello)

5.21.7: Spoiler Alert! I have it on good authority that both Milo Ventimiglia (Peter) and Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) are back next season. I'm also 99 percent certain Greg Grunberg (Matt) is back, but not so sure about D.L. (Leonard Roberts). I have a sneaking suspicion Linderman's blood or heart may heal him, but that could just be my wishful thinking, for I love Leonard so.

Glug! Glug! The script called for Nathan to drop Peter into the ocean after he exploded, which should explain my "swim" reference in today's chat. We'll see next season if that is indeed where P.P. landed.

Spoiler Alert Part Deux! I'm told next season begins four months into the future, and two of the main characters are in deep despair—one having completely lost his memory (bring on the Bourne Identity storyline!) and the other having developed a major drinking problem. Told ya Sylar wasn't this show's only demon.

Did I Mention Hiro Will Be in 17th-Freaking-Century Japan? That's just awesome! I'm hearing it could be as many as six episodes that he spends there. Sans Ando. (Brought over by Susan by way of Kristen from E!online.)

5.14.7: Volume 2 will consist of 30 episodes. Six of which will be ORIGIN episodes, that introduce us to new characters. ADDED 5.16.7: These six episodes will be stand-alone episodes featuring six different characters, that will not have any particular relevance to the overall storyline. It is possible that they will run into other MAIN CAST HEROES during their episodes.

Okay, this actress is still playing a character in the new season right? Because someone's spreading a rumor that she pulled out.

To me that looks like the chick that was off The Last Stand. The one who could pull a FLASH (I think that was her power).

Nice to see we've made another thread. Woohoo! I'm sure we'll waste at least a thread talking about the DVDs which are like just a bit over a month away

They are the same actress.

Anyway, I hadn't heard that she pulled out.
