With the help of Alfred, Bruce Wayne discovered a secret entrance to his father's (cave-like) private office. What's Next: Season 2 has been dubbed "The Rise of the Villains." "This season is going to be more intense, more epic, more of a saga," executive producer Bruno Heller says. "Gotham is descending into anarchy. This season, Gotham transforms into the world that needed Batman to come and save it." While that might seem to bode well for Penguin, don't expect his reign at the top to be permanent. Elsewhere, Harvey has left the force and Gordon's been demoted to a uniform cop when Capt. Barnes (new series regular Michael Chiklis) picks up where Jim's "save the GCPD" crusade ended. The secrets Bruce finds in his father's office may put him at odds with his caretaker. "His father's office makes very real what was previously a childish revenge fantasy," Heller says. "He plunges into a much darker and more adult world than we've seen him in before."
