Exactly. But for good measure I hate Vanessa too and think she is utterly useless. I don't like Nate unless he is with Serena, which isn't often. That's the only time I see the good side of Nate.

they don't trust him either. i think he trust s and thats it. he has begrudging respect for chuck. but why should he trust them? its the same for them too. its a two way street.

I don't think Dan played mindgames, I think he actually thought CB weren't serious about their affection for each other. He didn't really know them at that point, or how seriously their relationship was especially after what happened in season 1. Vanessa completely instigated based on her own feelings of vengence and planted a seed of doubt in Dan's mind. I just cannot stand her

Well I think Vanessa is worse than Dan in that regard. She hasnt grown whatsoever this season and has continuously displayed her hypocrisy. She acts as if she's morally superior than the rest and she has no standards (sleeping with Chuck for revenge, desparately taking whatever crumbs she could get from Nate at any point he offered her a bone). And IMO compared to the other characters Dan has a right to act as if he's above it since hes the only one with standards.

I really do hope they work on Nate next season. I really loved him in the past, and to me it seems like the writers really want me to hate him. they make him do weird/horrible things, and don't explain his actions at all. The CN friendship is so one sided it's ridiculous, and really so is the DN friendship, because what in the heck has Nate ever given Dan, other than a huge migraine?

Why wouldn't SS love them? They WIN at life together.

I totally agree. I love Dan. I really do. But I don't like how, even after he's seen a different side to these people, he continues to judge them and be like, "They have problems? Really?" Not with Serena, because he knows her really well, but with people like Blair and Chuck.

well i think he should at least trust serena and try to be trust her best friends and when it comes to serena, chuck is her brother and blair is her sister. but it wasn't until 2.5 that Dan even thought Chuck had any feelings because it was a lot easier for Dan to just see him as a villian. Chuck did start trusting Dan in 2.5, but Dan screwed himself over with his family. But then in 214 they were square again. Blair doesn't because of what happened with DS I think.

blair never gave d a chance even before stuff went awry with them. i do think the show did a 180 in season 2 with db for some reason i don't get it. Dan totally trusts S imo. But, he is also weary of cb. I think he's close to trusting C but he really doesn't know him and thats something the show can build on.

I feel like he still only sees the worst in them. I'm not saying that CB have been roses and flowers to Dan, but it's a two way street and Dan hasn't been perfect either. I think it's worse with B though, since CD are quite close to at least being civil.

i don't see this. where are you getting this? cause to me he seemed to have opened up to cb. he doesn't necesarrily view them as friends but he doesn't hate them. he just doesn't know them. he trust ns because those are the people in his life. CB aren't in his life and why should he trust them really?

Well Dan isnt required to trust any of the UESers, he only has to trust Serena and she continously demonstrates a lack of smarts that makes it hard for him to trust her. Look at what she did with Gab at the end of the season. Besides I wouldnt say Dan doesnt trust the UESers, I just think Dan in general has a certain cynism towards people, lol. I cant blame him though, people are devious or manipulative for the most part.
