Schwartz did say that Michelle Trachtenberg would be back around April and May as troublemaker Georgina Sparks, and Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) would remain at the forefront of the show.
"We get that that [relationship] works for people," Schwartz said with a laugh.
He also noted that many of the show's teen characters "graduate at the end of this year -- that's going to be a very big deal and it will shape direction of the show heading into Season 3."

I think people need to stop bashing both nate and chuck. But, thats just me. I did like nv for a long time. I just don't think they're a good fit and I will not defend the way they end. Thats not right.

bbfannc22, I used to feel exactly like you about DS. I mean, I still feel that way, but I do think it's Serena's issue that she always tries to change herself for guys and has really low self-esteem. However, I don't think Dan helps with that issue when they are in a relationship. He lets her do it and feeds into her need to have a moral compass around her.

I mean, when they are just friends, he helps her be herself - like in 2.11. But when they are in a relationship, he seems to completely forget that - like in 2.16.
So I need Serena to be completely single until she's learned 100% to stand up for herself and not let anyone bring her down - whether accidentally or on purpose.

I do think that inherently S turns to guys to make everything better. I mean she has pushed NB and CB just bc shes so sure that one of them can make Blair happy, but being happy isnt indicative of someone loving you, it stems from loving yourself.
I think its also why S will have 2 Bfs this season other than dan, shes trying to find someone to do it for her, I also think thats why ppl assume Dan brings serena down, when really Serena brings herself down and its something she will have to come to terms with before DS work or any relationship works for that matter

The writers are in a bind because they have already stamped ENDGAME on Dan and Chuck. Dan has been Serena's since the pilot and Chuck has been Blair's since V/V. Nate's the only viable male they have left to shake things up. It's not a bad thing for CB or DS shippers (and I love both couples) but anyone who ships a Nate pairing is in for a bumpy ride, myself included.

I wish they'd do this but unfortunately I don't think it will happen.

Serena being single is like Nate being single....it's the sign of an apocalypse.

Although, if they are doing a Serena discovering herself arc, after the Gab drama would have been a perfect time...her being scarred and all. Unfortunately, we saw pics of her and Carter. I just hope she's not going with him.

Aw So true! Dan and Chuck are stamped for life. Lucky for me, I gave up on Nate shipping long ago. I mean I will always hold a place in my heart for NS, but I don't actively ship them anymore.

I hope the writers take season 3 to build Nate back up to the character he could be. Which means leaving him single! It's not hard writers! JUST DO IT!

Oh, I was also kind of mad to find out Serena didn't get mad at Dan- or should I say stay mad at Dan for sleeping with the teacher. I love the slap, but it kind of disappoints me, to be honest.
