And I agree its not Brooklyn vs UES that's the problem. I think that NV would have been a very stable couple, too, just because both characters are so chill when they're together.

Yes I think NV could've been stable exactly for the reasons you mention, but I think bottomline there was the attraction wasn't so irresistible AND of course Nate had feelings for Serena... and Vanessa to me still has feelings for Dan. So I guess we could see the evolution of the situation in the upcoming season, with Serena and Nate getting together and Dan and Vanessa as well.

TexasForever and Tati, ITA with you posts. So well put. For NS, I guess I see the obstacle in their relationship as themselves strangely enough---though they seem to get along naturally and have a shared upbringing and history, Serena is scared of her past, perhaps scared of what Nate represents to her in that respect. One obstacle to her may what he will represent to her friendship with Blair and how she handles it this time around...responsibly I hope. and Nate is being set-up as a womanizer with a good-heart, an unstable family--things that were problems perhaps for Serena growing up.

for DV, V is not something that is unattainable and Dan has a muse complex especially when it comes to his writing where he seems to be inspired by his muse Serena--is V inspiring enough since she attainable and real and normal?

Exactly, Daphne. The obstacles for NS and DV are more about what keeps them from being together in the first place- especially DV. Once they were officially together... the writers would have to get more creative, lol.

ITA, I guess that's how I feel about eveyone though like DS and I would it see it that way for CB too...the only couple who wouldn't be that way for me are the one no one likes LOL: NV, DB...CS

eta: in real life, or at least in mine, i think relationships are more about getting along having fun but not making it so it's interesting for others to watch...it's more just kind of "everyday"

See, I feel like CB has enough passion and denial between them to break up and make up for five seasons without having to orchestrate something complex (which is why I'm still confused as to Marcus' existence). And DS have the whole rich/poor complex that has gotten them into at least 5 fights, plus the trust issues thing they just used.

Whereas, since Nate judges nothing, lol, he would never be angry with Serena. And since Serena seeks approval before anything, she would never be angry with Nate. They would just be in luuuuuuurve.

so true that CB has enough passion and denial, but I would never be convinced they'd be apart for long, but so, soooo fun to watch them

the DS sl of rich/poor is just FAIL for me, so WORKED and kissy-kissy poo

and I really don't care for the "babbling" rude-to-grownups smart-ass kid persona of Dan, just over done and not funny a la Seth Cohen. Dan was funny on the bus with Nuck but has just gotten bitter, not funny anymore

Serena/Nate I think there's a lot to mine with Nate's family stuff, her issues, their chemistry, think along the lines of the bath fight...

Guys do we know who's filming today and if we have any spies? I wish for Chace/Blake and Leighton/Ed scenes... and maybe Penn/Jessica... we haven't see any of that.

Is the White Ball during the day or in the evening?

In the still of Chuck and Blair from EW it was during the day? Which would make it more the middle of the episode rather than at the end..

i can't imagine the white ball being during the day. they can make it look like day or night for filming by just turning on a light, so maybe they just lit it up for the picture?

chuck has sunglasses as part of his white party outfit, the DS sex scene looks about/before dawn so I'm sure the white party starts at least when its light out

i think it'll start with the light, yeah, but it doesn't get dark in the hamptons during the summer until 9 or so.
