I try and look at it objectively and judge the show on it's own merit but I'm not going to lie I was in love with NB in the books so I'm definitely biased.

Even Nate noticed that Blair was lighter and happier, and it was because of Chuck. Blair didn't pay attention to Nate because she was too busy texting Chuck, then even went so far as to tell Nate it was okay if he still liked Serena because they were "friends now." We didn't see Nate decide he wanted Blair back. We didn't see Nate and Blair makeup, we saw their makeup from Chuck's point of view. We discovered Chuck had a heart, and it was because of Blair. "Apologize" was playing during the sex and the exact line that played while they had sex was "you say sorry like the angel heaven let me think was you." Not comforting. Blair was wearing Chuck's necklace.

I thought HS didn't make sense at all. I don't understand why Nate would go back to Blair after saying he was ending their relationship.

i know

oh dear...

but i'm not an NBer in the sense that i would ever interrupt CB!!

Season 2 CB comes first and foremost, my liking of NB is the nostalgia factor which i don't think should develop beyond friendship until at least the 3rd season (if GG goes that far)

I like CB they amuse me they are certainly each others matches however I just see NB in a different light.

You can't help who you love.

ETA - I agree with you Wendy is it? That NB need time to develop as individuals and strengthen their friendship if anything is going to develop between them. Also CB need to work out their relationship and all that yummy sexual tension they have before NB would work again.

I have developed a theory about HS's weirdness, which many of you will find strange.

We know Ed couldn't be in Roman Holiday due to the filming of 100 Feet, but he was originally meant to be in it. So I think the original version of Hi, Society would be Nate literally just wanting to go with Blair as friends and Chuck jumping the gun and ruining cotillion for Blair out of jealousy. Then Blair would dump him but NOT run back to Nate, leaving her free to bicker with Chuck throughout Roman Holiday.

But, then they realized Ed couldn't be in the next episode, so they needed an excuse for him to leave. And nothing made sense other than Nate sleeping with Blair. But they didn't have much time for the rewrite, so they just added that opening scene in with CN talking and then added the random sex scene at the end.
