Synopsis:

From Ryan Murphy, the creator of "Nip/Tuck" and "Popular," comes GLEE, a one-hour musical comedy that follows an optimistic high school teacher as he tries to transform the Glee Club and inspire a group of ragtag performers to make it to the biggest competition of all: Nationals.

Will Schuester, a young optimistic teacher, has offered to take on the Herculean task of restoring McKinley's Glee Club to its former glory. Everyone around him thinks he's nuts. He's out to prove them all wrong.

There is a love interest, but it's sadly not reciprocated. It's Finn. In the second episode, when [Kurt] is at the car wash, he looks over at Finn and says that he's in love with someone else, and then Rachel [Lea Michele] stands up and Mercedes [Amber Riley] thinks it's Rachel. He definitely realizes he has a crush on Finn and does what he can to try to get Finn to like him back, but sadly it doesn't happen.
Is he going to stick with the football team?
He does for a while. He eventually leaves, but he does stick it out for a while. (read more)

'Glee' exclusive: Joss Whedon to direct!
If I hadn’t been warming to Glee already, this for sure would’ve begun defrosting me: Dollhouse-keeper Joss Whedon has agreed to direct one of the back nine episodes that Fox just ordered. Turns out, the genius who gave us not only the “Once More, With Feeling” musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer but also Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog is a big fan of Ryan Murphy’s new phenom. So when Twentieth (the studio behind Glee) approached him about the gig, pretty much his only reservation was scheduling.
“Joss directed one of the great musical episodes in the history of television on Buffy,” gushes Murphy, “so this is a great, if unexpected, fit. I’m thrilled he’ll be loaning us his fantastic groundbreaking talent.” [source]

No—just great music! The lovely Lea Michele (Rachel) tells us, "We have everything from the Rolling Stones and the Beatles to Jordin Sparks." And Chris Colfer delivers more good news: "We do some Queen, John Lennon and then we do some more Beyoncé. There's lots of Beyoncé coming up. (Watch this week for the first bit of B!) Amber Riley's Mercedes has a huge Dionne Warwick solo in the works. "It's called 'Don't Make Me Over,' and it's amazing. It'll be in the background of an episode." Mark Salling, who plays mohawked bad boy Puck, tells us, "I think I am in love with Quinn (Dianna Agron) on the show, and she's in love with that other guy, and another girl is in love with that other guy. It's crazy." Oh, come on and admit it, in addition to Puck loves Quinn who loves Finn who has a thing with Rachel, Puck and Rachel are also going to hook up! The awesomeness of Glee gets even better a couple weeks out when our beloved Sarah Drew stops by to guest star! As Sarah tells us, "I play a character named Suzy Pepper who has an insane, absurd, psychotic crush on Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison). I don't want to give too much away because it's just hilarious, but she's kind of stalker-ish and creepy." Wait, is this like the Jaye-stalker character on Wonderfalls? "Yes, it's very similar to the Wonderfalls character, actually, but that much better…She has something redeeming that happens at the end. And there's a possibility of the character coming back. At the premiere party, one of the producers, Brad Falchuk, asked me if I could sing, and I was like 'Yes, put me in the glee club!' I grew up doing musical theater, and I have a lot of vocal training. I cry every time I watch Glee, because it reminds me of how happy I was when I was a kid on the stage singing my little heart out. EW has exclusively learned that Lea Michele’s Spring Awakening co-star, Jonathan Groff (seen most recently in Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock) is coming on board Glee for five or six episodes playing the lead male singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the group already seen performing “Rehab” and “Mercy.” Says Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy, “He is a male diva…a miva.” Groff’s character will also serve as a potential love interest for Michele’s Rachel.
