Well knowing Lorelai when the judge was going through her tirade how she has low tolerance for pampered children Lorelai would have been jumped in and said something. I don't know if it would have helped Rory get a less harsher sentence but it might have. Regardless aside I still think it was a situation that Lorelai should have put her hard feelings aside

I think it's obvious why Lorelai has made the choices she has. She can't handle hard situations. Everytime something gets difficult she pushes the situation out of her mind. I.e.:Rory and yale, her engagment to Luke, her parents. She deals by not dealing because she can't handle it.

I didn't see the episode, but I saw the DC and I don't remember L/C saying they stopped by the magistrate's office to apply for a waiver before they went tiptoe'ing through the Waterlilies of Giverrny.

CW Episode Description for Episode 10

Dec. 5, It's not a repeat! Mark your calendars for this one!
"Merry Fisticuffs"

LUKE AND CHRISTOPHER COME TO BLOWS -- Luke and Lorelai share a sweet moment when Luke introduces her to Liz's new baby. Christopher witnesses the scene and it adds to his concern that Lorelai isn't fully committed to their marriage. The next day, Lorelai and Christopher get into a fight over whether they should exchange vows at the elaborate wedding party Emily is throwing for them. Luke contacts a lawyer over his custody troubles with Ana, then runs into Christopher and the two have an ugly confrontation in the streets of Stars Hollow. Meanwhile, when Logan discovers that Rory and Marty have been pretending that they just met, rather than admitting their previous friendship to Lucy, he reveals the truth to Lucy. Finally, Emily gives Lorelai a warning about her marriage.

Thanks for the thread, Babs.

Peachy, we disagree about most subjects in relation to this show, and you have made it known how you feel about me. Should I not react to you as being wrong all the time? Should there be a different response? Luckily, I do not hold a grudge, and I did give you some dap in the last thread. Nevertheless, they are not unrecognizable shadows, and I will never stop fighting you or anyone else on this point. This is who they are. This is who they have always been. To me, you cannot blame the writers for seeing the characters in such a way, that you and many others never did. Remember: I am in this as well. Apparently, I was wrong, and watching the eps again...I see how wrong that I was to assume LL had some great ship. Luke and Lorelai are flawed people. I feel that many a JJ or LL fan, make them out to be SUPERHEROES (like charmed), and glaze over all of their flaws. When they are nothing but people with flaws. Trying to do the best they can.

Now on to charmed. Nice support of Lorelai. Essentially, again, you act as if you are Lorelai, and because you would do what Lorelai did. This makes Lorelai's actions A OK! Well, no, Lorelai's actions suck hairy wookie balls, and there is no defense for them. She sold out her kid. She did not have to blindingly support her kid. All Lorelai had to do was BE A MOM. Instead of being a mom. She decided to be a selfish brat, that got more mad about some pithy **** than her KID'S ISSUES. What's more important charmed? THE LOVE? OR THE BULL****? Lorelai chose the bull****. All she had to do was be a MOM. That's different from being Rory's friend.

Finally, Chris is boring? Really? Why is he boring? Oh, he's not Luke. Sorry. I forgot that LUKE "BIG DICK JOHNSON" DANES is soooo deep and soooo interesting. My mistake. Yes, I am ****ing around, but this is the bizarro version take on all of your Chris is BORING discussion!

ETA: Panda, that's a ****ing post right there. You pretty much nailed. Lorelai is not a closer. She cannot close on the big situations in life. Hopefully, this will change, in the future.

And why is Logan involved in this pithy **** between Marty, Rory, and Lucy? You Marty lovin JJs will probably hate this, and the Sophies are most likely not down with it. However, Logan, so needs to drop Marty.

Thanks for bringing that over Ciaobella.

Wow, that's going to be one hell of episode, can't wait to see it.

Now I'm really curious about Emily's warning to Lorelai about her marriage.
So is she going to tell Lorelai that if she wants her marriage with Chris to work she should avoid Luke, or is Emily questioning Lorelai’s choice to marry Chris, if it was the right thing to do, asking her if she still have feeling for Luke.

So it is a wedding party in ep 10, we thought so! so is she having second thought and doesn't want to make the same mistake twice!

As for Logan telling Lucy about Rory and Marty having been friends before, I wonder why he's doing it.
Getting back to Rory because she wrote the article?
Being angry because Rory didn't tell him that she met Marty again?
Only wanting for Lucy to know the truth?
But now matter why Logan chose to tell Lucy, she's going to be one getting hurt the most in the process.

Somehow it's not surprising that you're a Lorelai apologist and fan. To manage to turn Rory's personal crisis into her failure of Lorelai. Brava! Almost as bad as Lorelai herself.

I think that if Lore/Rory are ok and Rory/Logan are ok then we are for the most part happy. We like Lore/Chris together I think b/c as LG has said in the past they are the natural family, Chris, Lore and Rory and Gigi.
I disagree, particularly with the "we"s. I have no idea whether majority of Sophies are LC fans. And while I can accept or sit through LC being together, it is not for the reason that they are the "natural family". I am not indifferent to who Lorelai is with; I like her better with Luke.

Sorry, this was posted way back in the thread, as was peachypeep's question about why Sophies hate Luke/like Chris so much, but I want say my piece. I like Luke AND I like Chris. Both characters have merits and demerits, and I can appreciate both and try to understand where they are coming from and why they behave as they do. As to who I prefer with Lorelai, it is Luke, but even so I cannot blame or hate Chris nor Lorelai for where they are right now.

This is why I am uncomfortable with the labels "JJ" or "BB"; judging from the posts of both these camps on this thread, it seems I don't fit in with either. I am a Sophie through and through, but Sophies are about Rory and Logan and do not have to be associated with hating Luke or liking Chris.

Hmm... i'm wondering what emily's warning will be... I'm thinking two options. Either she tells Lorelai that this has to work because Chris and her are perfect and to not screw this up again. Or she tells Lorelai that Lorelai better make sure that this is really what she wants. It depends on whether or not Emily has her "picking up on Lorelai's feelings" radar on that night.

LL share a sweet moment... is it december 5th yet?

The exchanging vows thing. I personally don't want to see them exchanging vows...but that's just me and my mind trying to protect itself from any more CL cuteness. the way CL seem to be having issues already, IF Lorelai does agree to exchange vows then, I could see it really played up for the drama stuff... Like her face being anything but happy. And this must be the opera party, right?

Luke and Chris... I'm going to love this if it's down right. I really hope it looks like a fight instead of two awkward actors trying to stage a big fight scene and failing.

And R/L's SL in this ep. I'm not so happy about this one. I guess it means that RL aren't broken up though, and that Logan's still in CT though (or maybe he's in for x-mas... no x-mas in london? ), so that's a plus. So, marty and Rory must still be pretending not to know eachother after Lucy's party. This is getting complicated... and it's all on a triangle that isn't even a triangle? hmm...

Thanks for bringing the ep. description over, Ciao.

LL and a baby that's not theirs - that's going to be a bittersweet moment for me. She better tease him for going all soft and walking around pushing a pink stroller.

And Emily is back in full force, wedding party (opera themed, I guess) and a warning to Lorelai. Warning, not advice? I can't wait. I wonder if they go through with the party.

And are Rory and Logan turning nasty on each other? Ugh!

How is it any of Logan's buisness what Marty tells his girlfriend? He has no right to say anything to her...unless of corse he's jealous. In that case he should discuss it with Rory not just blab the truth to Lucy.
