And Luke helping Emily? What gets Luke to the hospital so that he can help Emily? And how will emily react to her daughter's ex-fiance being there in the first place, then being better to her than her son-in-law? this will be interesting.

I guess this goes along with the idea this season of second chances. Many mistakes happened during Luke and Lorelai relationship. The not sharing, the tendency of acting like single people not people in a relationship, and selfishness. This time in their individual journeys they get to stand back from this time, and see it more clearly. Make them see the mistakes, and learn from them so that they might come back together some day wisier, and better prepared to make it actually work. I think that Luke and Emily got off on the wrong foot before. Emily didn't really see Luke she just saw his social status or his lack of status. I think that this time she will get to see the real Luke, and have an understanding how Lorelai could be attracted and care for him.

No Peachy, that was not what I was trying to say, what I was saying or well clearly didn't do very well, was that that remark probably had nothing to do with Luke ... but more with some of the drama some of the posters here have responded with to the L/C SL.

With all that talk and avis about it being a dark day and well the ratings simply don't reflect that, ratings were up from last week,even though it was promoted L/C would tie the knot ... so I think it is more about all the overwhelming Dark Day sentiment on this thread ... nothing to do with Luke in the first place.

Pam
true, Emily saw what she wanted for Lorelai and that clouded over what makes her daughter happy.

I think the dark day stuff has to with it being a dark day for LL fans, not ratings. And don't get too excited about 100,000 more viewers. I read a post by Captain Hawkeye early in the season where he talked about changes like that being statistically insignificant ...

Exactly Peachy, the dark day stuff has all to do with it being a dark day for LL fans. That was something that I could not miss, even if I wanted too. But some of these JJs talked about ratings going down, not all, just a few, but well it was something that has been repeated a lot. And I am not too exited about 100.000 extra viewers. But there was no drop compared to last week. And some were implying that would happen ... these two tying the knot and all.

You know what the best part was of that ep. Besides Mrs. Kim, that the Tweedle-Ds woke up at 4 a.m., laid in bed for awhile, wandered the city for food, went back to the hotel for.., showered, changed and still made it to the restaurant by 5 a.m.
LMAO, poor Lorelai, but she takes what she can get....and 2 min are better then nothing right ??? Right......
For the record, I DO NOT hate Luke. I've always liked Luke.

Actually, total numbers were up, but the percentage of viewers who watched GG was down. It's a wash.

To refresh our memory:
7.01 = 3.1 / 5 / 4.48
7.02 = 3.3 / 5 / 4.62
7.03 = 3.2 / 5 / 4.71
7.04 = 3.1 / 5 / 4.77
7.05 = 3.2 / 5 / 4.70
7.06 = 3.0 / 4 / 4.35
7.07 = 3.0 / 5 / 4.4
These numbers are basically stagnant. Most are within the range of statistical sampling errors.

The bad news is that they pulled out all the stops to promote this episode, as their big sweeps event. On the other hand, it was up against Dancing with the Stars finale. And these two shows share a similar demographic, so being edged out by "Standoff" sounds irrelevant - that would be, broadly speaking, a different kind of viewer who don't want DWTS or GG.

On a sidenote - it's funny that CW viewership is still lower than either WB or UPN last year. I'm sure that wasn't the point of the merger, lol.

What I still don't see is why compare the one-on-one ratings from the same numbered episode last year. 607 wasn't their big sweeps push. (I do understand the inherent difficulty in comparing previous years. I'm simply pointing out it can't be done so simplistically.)

While 100,000 sounds like a lot of people, at the same time, GG fell back from 4th to 5th place again. Like every week this year - it's basically a wash.

You're correct that the CW claims to only care about the 18-34 demographic. And we don't have access to those numbers. Wish we did. Without them, we’re basically whistling in the wind here..

Thanks caf for the ratings break down.

Best/funnest part of the ep, Mrs Kim wanting to move in and what she did to Brian.

ETA - anothe way to look at those rating numbers, second worst of the season or second worst EVER on the CW for GG,

Just looking on the dark side

So it looks like ratings have declined since the High School Musical Date in 7.04? Interesting.

Thanks for the extra info Caf!

All that I really wanted to know was if C and L getting hitched and yeah that being promoted, so many people knew what was coming, would effect the ratings and well I guess we can say it didn't ... Sure they didn't go up either, but nobody was expecting that really. so maybe some didn't watch, but others did. And well all the negativity that has been spread about this SL by critics and all, still didn't really effect the ratings significantly. Can we say that at least?

Oh wait, I am out of the ratings discussion anyway ...
