Hi everyone. I’d like to remind you all that this is the main Gilmore Girls spoiler thread, and as such, posters from various shipper groups are free to post here, so if you see someone saying something that you don’t like about “your” favorite character or couple, don’t start fighting with them on this thread, and don’t go into a Gilmore Girls shipper thread if you don’t like the couple that the shipper thread is for. People are free to criticize upcoming events on Gilmore Girls as they read the upcoming spoilers, but don’t use this thread as a free-for-all to bash any characters or couples that you don’t like, or their fans, or you’ll find that you’ll be deprived of the privilege of reading and speculating about Gilmore Girls spoilers again here. Episode 7.08 - Introducing Lorelai Planetarium

The CW: LORELAI TELLS RORY THE NEWS - Lorelai (Lauren Graham) invites Rory (Alexis Bledel) over to dinner to tell her that she and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) got married in Paris. Rory pretends to be thrilled while Christopher is in the room, but later tells Lorelai how hurt and angry she really is. Back in town for the start-up of his new internet company, Logan (Matt Czuchry) invites Rory to the launch party, where she meets a magazine editor who suggests she write an article on the event. Rory writes a judgmental article, describing the guests as spoiled elitists. Logan is hurt and angry, accusing Rory of hypocrisy since she is living rent-free in his apartment. Defensive at first, Rory realizes she is living a double standard and decides to find her own apartment. Meanwhile, when April (Vanessa Marano) faces a medical emergency, a frantic Luke (Scott Patterson) turns to Lorelai for help. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by Jennie Snyder.

TV Guide: Lorelai and Chris arrange a dinner so they can tell their big news to Rory, who puts on a happy face for her dad but tells her mom she's angry. Elsewhere, Logan surprises Rory with a visit and an announcement that he's relocating to New York to start an Internet company; and Luke calls Lorelai when April becomes sick. Bobby: Vanessa Branch.

TheCW: STARS HOLLOW THROWS A "KNIT-A-THON" — When Christopher (David Sutcliffe) questions Lorelai (Lauren Graham) about why she has avoided involving him in the daily life of Stars Hollow, she admits her concern that her old friends may not accept him. Christopher makes an effort to bond with the townspeople, and Lorelai brings him to the town knit-a-thon, where his well-intentioned gesture brings the event to an early end. When Olivia (Michelle Ongkingo) throws a 2002-themed birthday party for Lucy (Krysten Ritter), Rory (Alexis Bledel) gets her chance to confront Marty about his coldness toward her. Finally, Luke (Scott Patterson) is touched by the birth of Liz (Kathleen Wilhoite) and T.J.’s (Michael DeLuise) baby, and when he learns that Anna (Sherilyn Fenn) is planning to move to New Mexico with April (Vanessa Marano), he demands equal rights as a parent. Liza Weil also stars. Kenny Ortega directed the episode written by David Grae.

TVGuide:Stars Hollow prepares for a knitathon and Lorelai, who's participating, worries that the townsfolk aren't ready to accept her and Christopher as a couple; Anna stuns Luke when she tells him that she and April are moving to New Mexico; Rory and her friends throw Lucy a 2002-themed birthday party, where Rory finally confronts Marty about his indifference toward her; and T.J. tells Luke that Liz, who's ready to give birth at any moment, wants to have the baby at home.

Chris thinks it went well, but Lorelai senses the tension and isn't happy. Luke sees them from the diner, and it hurts to see them together.

He disappeared behind the camera set up, but whatever goes down involves Lorelai and Chris because after a few minutes they walked off in the direction Luke had come from and Lorelai had her arm around Chris. Luke was wearing his green coat and the black hat.

The main thrust of her life, as the show has shown and she’s said in her own words, is her missing dream of a partner, that middle. This doesn’t preclude more traveling. She’ll still have a life. Lorelai is not gonna be barefoot and pregnant, lol.

At least the Lorelai we knew on the show that once existed wouldn’t.

1/3 of the season gone (almost) I hope the other 2/3s are better, maybe the middle 1/3 will be C&L coming apart leaving the last 1/3 for L&L to get back what they lost.

The sad thing with this SL is if we don't have S8, is we will miss a lot of the nice romantic stuff we know Luke can do, ice rink, special diners... okay I can't think of other stuff right now but you get the picture.

And I will bet money on it that we´ll never see LL as lovey-dovey as we see it now with LC.....but some affection or PDA would be nice....
DR has still 6 eps left to explore this marriage....but it´s just a damn waste of time....time to fix LL....and if this is the last season....I fear we´ll all be dissapointed in the end...oops wait, we already are.....

HUH? I've never watched Seventh Heaven. I said I think she's going to end the series alone, with an indication that she will be with Luke in the future. Thus...eventually. Which is what I think the dream is about.

No, it doesn't.

The only time she says she is not going to take the job is the first time it's brought up, to Luke, in HKTKK. That's the only definative answer she ever gives. Luke then tells her she should take the meeting. She tells Richard she's meeting with MA. She discusses it with Sookie who encourages her to think about it, and Lorelai gives a whistful...."Well..." The next episode she seems to indicate when she's talking to Rory about not wanting kids "right now" that she wants to seriously consider something like the offer on the table. In AHINAH, she says to Michel she's PROBABLY not taking it, to Luke she says she's MULLING it over, which causes him to withdraw his bid to the Twickham House.

That's the chronilogical order of the Mike Armstrong offer. It never comes up again, I don't believe. She never indicates she's not taking it. Last she mentions it she's MULLING. Not she's not taking it because it's not something she's interested in.

No, the main thrust of her life, and the show, has been her raising Rory the best way she could so Rory could have everything Lorelai didn't get by having and raising Rory.

That was the three-year plan. For Lorelai, the story could easily have ended in 322. With the purchase of the Dragonfly - the dream on the horizon.

But the show got renewed, and she achieved that dream in season 4. Leaving three seasons - for what? "An indication that she will be with Luke in the future." If she's going to be with him, then show it, and if she's going to be single and independent - if raising Rory meant she missed out not only on the Road Trip to Harvard dream but also on a personal future - then show that.

Instead they're shilly-shallying and running scared and filling the final year with a yawning circle that goes nowhere. That's fine for viewers who enjoy watching Christopher - either making out or breaking up with her. It's even OK for viewers who find that relationship at all interesting. The rest of us are alternately bored or nauseated.

And yes, I know there's a second gilmore girl. She hasn't had much of a storyline yet. And given what they've done to Lorelai, I'm not looking forward to letting DR loose on Rory.

So Rory is okay with them eloping and she misses out on seeing that, sounds a bit like ep 7.02, she was pissed off for about 2 minutes then okay with mum and dad dating!

And what of Emily and Richard are they okay with it, Emily sounds like it but what if that toast was for something else. Maybe they just said they were engaged, we know the EPB loves screwing with us!

I will be surprise but not shocked if Richard didn't want to walk Lorelai down the isle on the special day, who knows maybe they plan a formal wedding when they get home?
