Well, first of all, Luke's diner was back and in working order in just a couple of episodes. (Wasn't it Caf who pointed out how everyone but Luke has things resolved so quickly? Hmmm.)

Second, Luke didn't lose Lorelai to Chris. Chris wasn't even attempting to get Lorelai back and had accepted that Lorelai was engaged and getting married to someone else. Lorelai left Luke because he ignored her and kept her out of his life, period. Chris didn't have to lift a finger to destroy Luke's happiness. Luke did it himself.

As for the April situation, one thing we should mention first. Luke wanted children. Now he has one! Isn't that marvelous. Overnight, instant child! (Wasn't that quick, Caf?) Anyway, Anna wants her daughter to live with her. (Not surprising.)

So, Luke has to face a custody battle, like any other father who isn't married to the mother of his child and wants the child to live with him or nearby. So, they'll duke it out. In any event, if Luke had kept Lorelai in the loop, he could have been married, with a home, and a separate bedroom for his daughter (with Rory's trundle). Or, he could have had E&R's huge gift of a house to bring to the court's attention. And, even if this wasn't enough, he'd have Lorelai by his side, holding his hand, giving her support. But, now he doesn't have any of that because of his own actions.

Noodle, just because someone is focusing on one persons part in a mess, doesn't mean that same poster cannot see the other person has part of the responsibility of that mess also. I know your post is a response to Sandlynn, but I feel myself to be in the same position time after time. I guess that's why I feel the need to respond.

Chere44 the temptation for me to critisize Christopher and refer to him as Dopey etc. is that it's well...so tempting. Luke has a diner, a life, a career, friends, family, he helps people out, he works hard, he has opinions, views, etc. For 7 years Christopher has just walked around being Christopher. Lorelai and Rory talk him up now and then, saying what a great guy he is, but there is never anything, anything at all, seen by the viewer to support it. Nothing. He walks around with a big grin on his face, he inherits money, he acts all creeepily stalker over Lorelai, now he's morphing into "the man of the house", he's a big nothing. I can understand liking or not liking Luke, he has a character and personality to react to, but the big thing with Christopher promoters for me is what's the deal? So he's mildly good looking, that's why Lorelai should be with him? That's destiny in your book? Other then he's not ugly, what is there to admire in this man? His good deeds, hard work, parenting, charisma? Ain't seen any of that. He's a big zero that is just too tempting to add on monikers to just so he isn't completely colourless.

i don't have a problem with those nicknames. i don't care, call him like you want.
how many angry posts would i get if i kept refering to Chris as Dopey, Pisstopher, or 2 Minute Man? i think a lot.
and now i'm probably gonna be attacted for this, cause i'm such a bad person to call charming Chris with those nicknames.

But we never found out where that money came from, for all we know it could have been his lifes savings, so $30k is not that much IMO.

I just wish DSR would have cleared up a few of the small details, like where is the ring, had the signed and contracts as to the CS yet, how much did Luke pay and had they meet int he last 6 months before last week. I would not be surprised if they had and Lorelai had gone to Luke's for weeks before Paris, and this was there first meeting since the wedding. Thus explaining why Luke is made, maybe they had been taking like before and now she got married. I know Luke can be blind sometimes but IMO he knew they were dating.
