"Elsewhere" sounds like Anna taking April away.

As for Anna's decision, I can't help but think that if Luke had only let Lorelai into his life with April, he 1) would have been able to make it clear to Anna that he and Lorelai were a team and even had the three of them get together to talk about the future, 2) might have been married to Lorelai by now and had a home already set up for April and 3) would have had Lorelai by his side and not by someone else's side helping that man with his daughter. By excluding Lorelai he made his situation with Anna definitely harder to bear and possibly harder to fight.
Heh, the guy makes one fatal error and he's the new Job?

Can I get you anything? Compassion, perspective?

Or do you prefer a serving of entrails?

Don't forget the side of testicles, caf.

In order to have ANOTHER heartbreaking moment, he'd have to have one before that. The writer definitely is referring to all that Luke is supposedly enduring. Everything. All added up. Not just that one thing.

So he's not allowed to feel heartbroken about the possibility of losing his daughter? Cos he's such a **** up?
He can feel whatever he likes. That doesn't negate that he helped to make his situation worse. Most of the characters on this show have done very similar things with their own problems and it's been duly recognized by many in the fanbase. Luke shouldn't get off "scot" <heh> <heh> free.

Following your logic, if he didnt' screw things up with Lorelai, than Anna would never attempt to move April to NM? Damn. It's a wonder Liz and TJ havent' disowned him, the townies haven't burnt down the diner and April hasn't run away from SH yet.
No, I said it might have made his situation easier to deal with and to fight.

I thought it was about April, because first the blurb is about LC letting everyone know they're married including Luke, and then it says "elsewhere...Luke..."
But maybe you're right. We'll see tonight.

I agree about Luke letting Lorelai into his life with April. And when Luke didn't let Lorelai into his life with April, Lorelai should have opened her mouth and yelled at Luke. Not shut up and say she's fine/OK.
Whether or not Anna's decision has something to do with this, I don't know.

No, because he's poor and dirty. Only Chris gets a free pass. Come on - get with the program!

It's interesting. If anyone brings up Luke's own role in his current unhappiness all of a sudden it's about that he's -- in YOUR words -- poor and dirty and that people like myself want to see him eviserated. Sorry, but that's quite the dramatic leap. (Besides, Luke isn't poor.)

****
By the way, does Luke have a separate bedroom for April over the diner -- not just a separate section? I was never clear on that and it would matter in a custody case.

I don't think she does have a separate room. I think it's just the section that Jess always stayed in. It would matter, but I'm not sure it will on the show. It could though. That's actually a pretty big deal. She's a teenaged girl. She should have her own room in her father's place.

Do we think Luke ever paid Logan for that vineyard valentine necklace? I guess it doesn't matter since the whole thing has been forgotten. I've never seen that jewelry on either girl.

Yes, Luke screwed up with Lorelai. I think he's paid many times over.

Imo, Luke's finally seeing where he went wrong, he regrets it, he's blaming himself. The last scene in ep. 8 showed that. He's learning how to be a great dad, etc... Even since the first two eps of the season, he knows what he lost and that HE threw it away, that he let it get away. That's why this stuff's so heartbreaking to me. He's dealing with ruining LL and everything, then he has to see the ring, probably doubt how much she really cared at all, then Anna tries to take April away, the one thing that's keeping him together in all this. What more can they do to this guy...

Eva, thanks for the new thread. Lovely title BTW Thank you Jason... I am very happy to see the titles back and I hope we all can try and keep the titles and therefor the suggestions unbiased and neutral ... would suck to loose the titles again ...

Peachy, I am not seeing Chris getting a pass here from anyone. Even the BBs that, fortunately still on occasion, wish it would be more though, post here recognize Chris has made mistakes while Rory was growing up. Just because some people also recognize the guy is trying now and don't call him all sorts of names or try to see some evil in anything the guy does, doesn't mean he gets a pass.

Oh and Jason, I loved you mentioning that Luke got that he was in the middle [between Lorelai and Rory] and Chris does not recognise he is in the middle ... I agree that is a big difference ...

If it matters in a custody case, I don't think it would be a huge problem for Luke to put up an actual wall with a door between the kitchen and April's section.
And "put up a wall" is not meant metaphorical, lol.

How in the world did he contribute to Anna's mother being ill and her deciding to move 3000 mi away with April? Or to Anna being a controlling wench, or to her keeping April from Luke for twelve years, which is by far worse than anything Luke could have or could not have done to make the situation different.

Yes peach, Luke Danes must be punished. And we must all take turns at the whipping post I guess.

No she doesn't have her own room. She is using Jess' bed and space - no walls or anything. I don't really think that's a problem for April or otherwise she would have said something.

See, I think paying and realising are two different things. Do I think he's suffered because of losing Lorelai? Definitely. What I'm not sure on, is if he knows that he was partially to blame.
