I loved the Luke/Anna scene at the end. It ranks right up there with the end of Lost & Found for me, which is my favorite Luke scene of the series. He's been needing to say that for a very long time. I think I loved most that he brought up her keeping April from him for so long. That needed to be said, badly. Last edited by lemon tart : 11-28-2006 at 08:54 PM.

| Thanks for bringing the tv squad review over, Lancer. That, the recap and people's general reactions, made me look forward to watching the episode. The Paris scenes in the apartment with Rory and Logan sound hilarious. __________________ the CANOE and the KAYAK Sign Petition For More Gilmore Girls | |||

| Gilmore Girls by Robin Honig November 28, 2006: Knit One, Pearl Two Quick: what’s the first thing you think of when you see someone knitting? What about an entire town full of people knitting, huge balls of yarn in Stars Hollow square and Sookie cooking up balls of spaghetti speared with breadsticks? Okay, we get it. This one is about children. A little too heavy handed this time around. (Meanwhile, what town actually holds a knit-a-thon to save a beetle-infested bridge? Don’t most New Englanders raffle off romantic swag like intimate candlelight dinners for two, midnight hayrides and weekends stays at cozy B&Bs?) So of course Liz finally had her baby. I loved how Luke rushed right over as she was delivering, at home, natch. Did you catch that huge smile when he first held his niece, Doula? (With a name like that, I hope this kid will pack a mean punch on the playground.) I don’t think I’ve seen Luke that happy since he and Lorelai kissed on the gazebo the night they got engaged. Good thing, because holding that newborn finally lit a fire under his butt. I was pretty sure he wasn’t going to let Anna take April to New Mexico without some sort of argument. But I was not prepared for the big confrontation at Anna’s house. Could you believe how livid he was? He said all the right things: that April was his daughter too, that he has rights as her father and that he’d fight Anna if he had to. Finally! (By the way, this was Scott Patterson’s best scene in, I don’t know how many episodes.) Now if only Luke fought like that for Lorelai, maybe she wouldn’t be tip-toeing around Stars Hollow with her new husband Christopher, receiving chilly welcomes from Babette and Miss Patty. And she wouldn’t have to set up Chris on “man-dates” with Jackson either. (By the way, when did he suddenly become Mr. Popular? I find Jackson slightly less grating than Taylor. And not by much, either. Though I’ll give him props for the whole soil- and-crop chat at the bar. Chris was smart enough to figure out the analogy, and later parrot it back to Lorelai as his own. Smooooooth.) Speaking of smooth: nice of Chris to put the kibosh on the knitting festival by throwing around his money, yet again. Yes, it was generous to donate the $7800 to meet the town’s 10-grand goal. But it also sent everyone packing after only a few hours. The bridge was saved, thanks to Chris’s trust fund, not the hard work of the dedicated Hollowites. Yuk. When I look a little closer at the possible symbolism, I see a man who doesn’t want any more children. I wonder if Lorelai knows about this? I doubt it, since she’s too busy staging her own personal What Not to Wear episode, changing Chris out of his trademark tight clothes, reminding him go easy on the hair gel and sending him outside wearing a comfy outfits. Sounds like she’s treating him, let’s all say it together, like a child. We know he won't tolerate that for very long. I just wish we had a chance to see Lane and Zack in this ep. The cool couple expecting twins should've been the only ones in the SH allowed anywhere close to knitting needles and balls of yarn. | |||

| LAST WEEK - RATINGS Quote:
Gilmore Girls was down last week to 4.2 million but the season average is 4.46. On the up side #2 for the week at the CW, but beaten (just) but 7th H. __________________ Mythbusters - "I reject your reality and substitute my own." | "Dude, you forgot again." "I'm rusty. Give me a second.". Thanks L's Girl for the thread and myself for the title. You rock, self. "Right back at you, self." A sorrygram for PodLUKE? How lame is that sentiment? It's so lame, that LAME has asked to be removed from it. Tonight Luke got his FIGHT back. Do you know what the FIGHT is? Probably not, because you like going on about POD people and what not. So, let me, illuminate for you what happened to Luke tonight. Yes it's pretentious as hell but bear with me. It ties into the next paragraph! For most of his life; Luke has had the fight knocked out of him. His parent's death, to varying degrees, surpressed it. Liz flaking on him. Supressed his fight even more. Which left a man that had heart and had soul, but no FIGHT behind it. Even with true love, he failed to FIGHT FOR IT. Now, with his daughter, Luke has drawn a line in the sand and stop the losing. He's going to FIGHT for his daughter. He's not going to let her get away. LUKE GOT HIS FIGHT BACK. Keep going on about POD people and what not, but please stop acting as if that has anything to do with Gilmore Girls. Because in this show, these characters are written way too human for such a swipe. Katie, it was nice to have Marty back for a moment. How did you like him going from nice to creepy quicker than a Bulgatti hitting 120? Marty is so creepy. He has a shot coming more than either Luke or Chris next week. No wonder Logan does what he does next week. The brother has to pay. Onto Voltron, who, continue, to be the best couple on this show...ever. CJ Donnelly needs to get his/her head out of her/his ass because VOLTRON is the heart and soul of this show right now. They are the great romance Luke and Lorelai could have been. If Amy and Dan were a couple of *******s, that decided to write their characters like even bigger *******s. Rory's look to Marty should be an animated gif avatar. Easily one of the greatest looks of rejection on this show...EVER. Finally, the best part about this episode, and I know this will come across way dicky. Yet, I do not feel like lying to any of you. The best part was the inherent differences that this show has to the way that many of you respond to it. It's as if the world that you see, is not the world SHO-RUNNA and the SGGWT sees. Which is a good thing because Lorelai and Chris are an awesome couple. Who cares if they end. Right now, it's nice to see a couple work through just being a couple. If you are too stubborn or hateful to enjoy it. That's you. When I go all-in. I go all-in. Who cares if it ends? It's a hell of a story right now. LL next year...should be the sort of story that it should have been in 07. ETA: Now it's time for AXEL RENTON'S CRANKY OLD MECHANIC thread titles of the day. | If Luke is "the diner guy", then Chriss is "the guy who boinked a desperate woman and thought it was great"..... So, is Chriss reading the letter in 7.12 the beginning of the big fight with Lorelai which leads into 7.13 ??? Only 4 more eps to go.....
