I’d like to remind you all that this is the main Gilmore Girls spoiler thread, and as such, posters from various shipper groups are free to post here, so if you see someone saying something that you don’t like about “your” favorite character or couple, don’t start fighting with them on this thread, and don’t go into a Gilmore Girls shipper thread if you don’t like the couple that the shipper thread is for. People are free to criticize upcoming events on Gilmore Girls as they read the upcoming spoilers, but don’t use this thread as a free-for-all to bash any characters or couples that you don’t like, or their fans, or you’ll find that you’ll be deprived of the privilege of reading and speculating about Gilmore Girls spoilers again here. Episode 7.09 – Knit, People, Knit

TheCW: STARS HOLLOW THROWS A "KNIT-A-THON" — When Christopher (David Sutcliffe) questions Lorelai (Lauren Graham) about why she has avoided involving him in the daily life of Stars Hollow, she admits her concern that her old friends may not accept him. Christopher makes an effort to bond with the townspeople, and Lorelai brings him to the town knit-a-thon, where his well-intentioned gesture brings the event to an early end. When Olivia (Michelle Ongkingo) throws a 2002-themed birthday party for Lucy (Krysten Ritter), Rory (Alexis Bledel) gets her chance to confront Marty about his coldness toward her. Finally, Luke (Scott Patterson) is touched by the birth of Liz (Kathleen Wilhoite) and T.J.’s (Michael DeLuise) baby, and when he learns that Anna (Sherilyn Fenn) is planning to move to New Mexico with April (Vanessa Marano), he demands equal rights as a parent. Liza Weil also stars. Kenny Ortega directed the episode written by David Grae.

TVGuide:Stars Hollow prepares for a knitathon and Lorelai, who's participating, worries that the townsfolk aren't ready to accept her and Christopher as a couple; Anna stuns Luke when she tells him that she and April are moving to New Mexico; Rory and her friends throw Lucy a 2002-themed birthday party, where Rory finally confronts Marty about his indifference toward her; and T.J. tells Luke that Liz, who's ready to give birth at any moment, wants to have the baby at home.

From Katie: Miss Patty gives Chris a 'welcome wagon' full of stuff from local businesses. She and Babette are polite, but they are not exactly warm and friendly. Chris thinks it went well, but Lorelai senses the tension and isn't happy. Luke sees them from the diner, and it hurts to see them together.

Episode 7.10 - Merry Fisticuffs

TheCW: LUKE AND CHRISTOPHER COME TO BLOWS — Luke (Scott Patterson) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) share a sweet moment when Luke introduces her to Liz’s new baby. Christopher (David Sutcliffe) witnesses the scene and it adds to his concern that Lorelai isn’t fully committed to their marriage. The next day, Lorelai and Christopher get into a fight over whether they should exchange vows at the elaborate wedding party Emily (Kelly Bishop) is throwing for them. Luke contacts a lawyer over his custody troubles with Anna, then runs into Christopher and the two have an ugly confrontation in the streets of Stars Hollow. Meanwhile, when Logan (Matt Czuchry) discovers that Rory and Marty (Wayne Wilcox) have been pretending that they just met, rather than admitting their previous friendship to Lucy (Krysten Ritter), he reveals the truth to Lucy. Finally, Emily gives Lorelai a warning about her marriage. Sean Gunn also stars. Jackson Douglas directed the episode written by David Rosenthal.

TV Guide: Lorelai dreads each day that she meets with her mom and a prominent party planner in anticipation of the upcoming wedding party. Meanwhile, Lorelai and Christopher can't seem to agree on plans for their future, and she usually gets her way; Logan is in town and Rory takes him to the Yale cafeteria, where they run into Marty, and Rory explains the whole awkward reunion she had with Marty and their subsequent deception with Lucy; and Luke decides to talk to a lawyer about April.

Sides for 7.10 include a Lawyer, Dennis, Nadine, Brandon, Jacob and Randall. (We don’t have the sides, just the names of characters being cast.) “Sheila” side added. (Sheila is an ongoing YDN staffer. Possibly old sides are being used to cast a new character.)

He disappeared behind the camera set up, but whatever goes down involves Lorelai and Chris because after a few minutes they walked off in the direction Luke had come from and Lorelai had her arm around Chris. Luke was wearing his green coat and the black hat.

Cue the inevitable Lorelai epiphany.

Well I post my question of the last thread again - since I was to late there!

Right at the start - before I go to read all your posts:
How serious can we take the "spoiler" about the end of the season??
That about Chris draging out the divorce and the fight between Luke and Anna?

Thanks for the new thread. Now I dont usually post here, but I just read some of the spoilers and I cant believe it. I didnt see the episode tonight (damn ktla!) but from what I read i dont think i will like it. First, why would DSR get chris and lor together if it is only for a few months. I think it is pretty stupid to marry them and make them get a divorce in the same season. I felt the same way about luke and nicole's wedding, or even dean and lindsay's wedding. I hate when writters do that. Why when they marry two people dont they leave them alone. At this point, I dont even ship any couples because i feel like there is no point in putting any feeling in something that wont last. I dont even know if i prefer lorelai with chris or luke anymore but either way, it wont last. I just want her to settle down yet. Anyway, thats it for tonight!

Chris to me is sounding a bit like my sisters boyfriend, through him she kept my nephew from the rest of the family for months, controlling who they could see (thought she would never admit it) and it was a long time before we could see them. I can really see that happening to some degree with Lorelai. Not that he will stop her seeing anyone but just sounding controlling in general. Someone else made a list of the controlling actions Chris has done in the last season and I guess the changes at the CS can be added to that.

And yes Luke was controlling but only one part, April who is his and not Lorelai’s, from Luke’s POV she was in agreement with the situation and said so to Emily once even if she didn’t like it. It was up to her to say something as it is now, if she is not liking it she needs to say something. But I guess by the fact they break up she doesn’t or again leaves it too late and says the wrong things.

Gilmoregirl, not everything you put your heart into pays you back in life. The point of putting Chris and Lorelai together in the first-half, and having them falling apart in the second-half deals with LOVE. In a way, Lorelai and Chris have been holding on to a romantic notion of love for years. They have held onto it for so long, that it has sabataged other relationships that they have had. Which in turn, has caused them all sorts of strife in their lives, that they would never have had. If they could get past each other.

Now, with this marriage, they will learn who each other TRULY ARE, and if the romantic notion can handle the stresses of reality. They are putting them together for months in the time of the show. Sometimes, marriages, only last months, and not years. If you do not want to put yourself out their for a ship on a show...it's understandable. However, being a fan of a show, has a lot of FAITH to it. You have to have FAITH, and that's on all of US.

Craig, thanks for the share, but in no way is CHRIS CONTROLLING. While I have not experienced this myself because I suck

! Apparently, when in a committed relationship and living together (or married), you are supposed to COMPROMISE about...life. What Chris and Lorelai did last night, was to act like a NORMAL MARRIED COUPLE AND NOT FREAKY LL ENGAGED COUPLE. They discussed furniture, TVs, waterfalls, barkaloungers, and all that stuff that involves melding THEIR LIVES TOGETHER. Again, we may know that they end, but right now they are in love and married. Why those opposed do not want to accept this is beyond me. This is also why not, your comparing skieviness to this marriage, does not really work. Since they are married, and that's still skievy.

OT - I noticed that in last week ep Liz Torres (Miss Patty) was in the credits but as we know not in the ep, what happened or did I miss something?

ETA - Jason I'll leave my final comments until I see the ep, but from what I've read Lorelai sounds like she is falling into the same trap as she did last season.

While re-build the house they did talk about things, remember the paint colours and I'll bet they talked about a lot of other things. But while Luke let Lorelai choose what she wanted 'cause at that point it was still her house, Chris has gone strait into "our house" mode and after Lorelai made all the rules there for 10 years IMO it could be too soon for this kind of change, only time will tell.

Yes it might sound like normal "married couple" stuff this is not a normal marriage if Lorelai admits she could have been talked out of it.
