Laura, exactly. VOLTRON RULES! With the spoiler, if it's true, then that's an odd way to end a season. It's a very odd way to end a season. You would think putting LL back together, with the looming Chris divorcing hanging over them, would be enough drama to sustain most of the first part of season eight. Leaving the second-half available for the happy happy joy joy of LL being together. Whateverthecase, if this is indeed the case, then I am puzzled by that spoiler. I am straight up puzzled.

And Rosenthal said the season is going to end in a way the show could end or a new season could begin.
If the (sp)foiler turns out to be true that wouldn't be a good ending for the show. They have to leave in a good place if it's the last season if not they have to have a "little" something for an 8th season.

Cappuccino, I thought DSR said that he could make a few minor changes if it turned out to be the last season, so it could end satisfactorily?

Could this have just been one idea DSR was working on and it leaked to get our reactions, maybe we are being used, I feel so cheap!

having not watched the past couple of eps and really watching this one - this show has totally changed and not in a good way - Lorelia has become the stepford wife and I hate Chris even more

I think that this could be pressure over SP.

If this custody 'battle' will still be going on when LL are back together, i'll be interested to see what Lorelai's role will be in this whole situation, considering Anna's feelings towards her.

That's from the latest DSR interview and sounds to me as if they're planing a good ending and if neccessary it can also serve for a good beginning.
I think we will know more after Christmas but the actors already approved in their interviews and Rosie said he is up for another season. I think for them it's a done deal they just want to wait and see if the audience wants another season or not.

Gilmore Girls

I found it quite appropriate that the theme of tonight’s episode was printed on an old rock t-shirt Chris stole from Lorelai when they were teenagers: Synchronicity. It began the second Lorelai put that shirt on and said she’d never take it off. (Here, let me quote you some of the lyrics by the Police: Synchronicity / A connecting principle / Linked to the invisible / Almost imperceptible / Something inexpressible / Science insusceptible / Logic so inflexible / Causally connectable / Yet nothing is invincible.)

Is it just me, or do those lines explain exactly what’s going on between these three couples: Chris and Lorelai, Luke and April, and Rory and Logan? Each of them is bound together in this episode by odd timing and twists of fate: After 20 years, Chris and Lor are now the married couple settling into the house that, ironically, Luke rebuilt. Sure, there was some back-and-forthing about the flat screen TVs around in practically every room and how they’d need to redo Rory’s bedroom in pink for Gigi. Chris agrees to small town living, even if he moved in rather firmly, making it clear that “things would have to change.” Lorelai eventually gets used to his presence, and even helps him move Rory’s furniture. Linked to the invisible. Synchronicity.

As for Luke, well, there’s some impressive parenting. The guy who’s never raised a kid realizes April’s sick, despite her protests, and rushes her to the emergency room for an appendectomy. I actually enjoyed the bonding beforehand when they gossip about Melissa at school and whether April’s denim skirt was ready for wearing. And I loved how he uses juggling as a metaphor for kissing boys, ironic in its own way since it’s exactly what he’s doing with his life. Everything seems fine between the two, rather touching even, especially when he’s at her hospital bed, until Bringing Up Baby comes on TV. (The movie, starring Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant, is a farce about a totally mismatched pair who marry.) The last scene in the ep shows a devastated Luke watching the pair talk about eloping while he’s literally bringing up his baby. A connecting principle. Synchronicity.

And finally, Logan unexpectedly moves back to the States to head up his huge project. (Anyone want to explain to me what it’s all about? It doesn’t sound like Dad’s newspapers to me.) They’re riffing off each other and all happy-sappy until Rory writes an article about the launch party titled “Let Them Have Cosmos.” Instead of finding it funny (“The party was filled with people who can’t imagine their worlds without their trust funds and bottled water.”) Logan is enraged and insulted. When he points out that Rory is exactly the same as the partiers, a prep schooler and a Yalie who lives for free in his luxury apartment, she becomes enraged. After reading the piece several times she realizes she had been “awful, mean and judgmental.” Only then does she really come to terms with their similarities. Casually connectable. Synchronicity.

Sure, it’s an old rock song, and it might be the soundtrack to their lives right now. But I have a feeling a newer anthem will come along and knock this one off their charts.

nst, you are rather transparent in your disdain. This is what continually frustrates me with all of these complaints. They have less to do with the story, but more to do with what you want from this story. Which is okay, I guess, but wants and what nots are for TV writers. Not for TV viewers, but thanks for bring over Robin's latest ridiculous statements about an episode of Gilmore Girls. Yes Robin, you really have no idea how to deal with VOLTRON, do you? Yes, they are so screwed...all of them...big positive lady you aren't.

ETA: Damselfly, you hate Lorelai now? You and nst together--as transparent as that magical tape from 3M. Also, thanks for posting the TV Squad review. To quote one of my favourite films in reference to the apparent author of that article; "What a ****ing douchebag." Yes, Rory is wimpy without Lorelai around, and she's wimpy because she realized how unprofessional that article turned out to be...HOW HORRIBLE of HER. The only good GG criticism on the net comes from USWEEKLY. I think that's saying something.

I seem to remember another quote too, but the one I found is from Lorbaby's summary of an SP interview in an Italian magazine, July 2006:
