Hmmm... I'm not sure if the sides are at the end of the Summer simply because I cannot imagine them totally skipping 3 months worth of "stuff." RL we can handle - Logan went to London, Rory's been doing her thing where she is. A couple of lines mentioning her summer would suffice. But, LLC? There needs to be more than a mention of what happened the morning/day/week/month after.

Did LL talk after Lorelai pleaded with him to marry her right then or did they ignore each other the entire summer? After watching how their "ignoring" each other went in S5, I doubt we'd believe that it's doable. What about LC? Does Rory know about the broken engagement? Does Luke?

Hmmm.... I think that it's more of the end of the school year or the fact that Rory and Paris are at Yale during the summer perhaps working on a weekly edition of the YDN? Or, just using the offices for whatever?

It doesn't seem likely that Rory and Paris would haunt the YDN over the summer. So, Epsiode 7.01 starting in late August looks likely.

AS Always - YMMV

MMDV.... Logan graduated, but finals could still be going on - they could be wrapping things up with the paper for the summer during the last week of school.

Thanks for the sides.

I must say i've missed those blacked out sides.

I hope Luke's diner is ok, glad they are starting some crazy town stuff off right from the first episode though. Taylor, Luke and a truck in the diner. Oh boy.

"The Fishbone song?" "The Fishbone song." "Everyday Sunshine, I guess."

I had those PREP sessions for the ACT (The middle of the country SAT) that started in May and went all Summer. It's plausible that Paris could have started things on a Saturday for her prep sessions. Especially, if as I believe, 21 and 22 take place at the end of May instead of the middle of May. That aside, I love waiting for sides, that are more marked out than Air Force reports of UFO sightings. I am really okatte about the diner getting hit by a Thunderbird. Yucky. Yucky sides.

Not sure how American universities work but here in Canada you have to actually finish finals (all years' finales are held in a 3 week period, 6 days a week) and have your finals marked (any potential graduates' finals are marked first) and grades entered in order to figure out eligibility to graduate. Graduations usually take place 4 to 6 weeks after finals. Usually when university students are well into their summer jobs.

ETA: Thanks Krissie... "Free to be girlie" is their theme? Oh my.

Exactly. I was walking around Brown's campus last week and there were tons of students there. (Beautiful campus by the way. Providence is a great city.)

I don't think so. I think it's just a slogan for the show for that ad. Like VM is "Free to Be Fearless (snapped apic of that one going by on a bus) and the Top Model one is "Free to Be Fierce"

Uhm count me as someone against the "Free to be Girlie" campaign.

No wonder ASP left, they've turned the idea of her strong independent single-mom with issues and independent daughter coming of age show into GIRLIE.

I mean ASP of season 1 that is... this one... she's just crazy.

Some schools have early admissions here in the US.

Preparing for the SAT's during summer seems very realistic to me. Especially if they took the PSAT (Practice SAT's during Junior Year in High School and didn't do so well).

There could be a very logical (in GG world) reason why Paris and Rory are at the YDN. One of which is that Paris took over the YDN office to start her own SAT Prep Academy and Rory is simply there to pick up some things she left behind.

Oh right, I had a point. I don't think there's been a time skip. I think the first scene is the day after.

Like I said. I don't think it's the whole campaign. I think it was just something playing off the title. Like I said, the VM one is Fearless, and the Top Model one is Fierce (which is something Tyra says left and right on the show). I think it was just the only thing they could think of. What else were they gonna do? "Free to be...a fast talker?" "Free to be...caffinated?"..."Free to be...uh...sleeping with your ex?"

Well that would be truth in advertising.

That's what I meant... not theme for the network. But, still - oh my.

Girlie is the last thing I'd think of when thinking of GG. At least I hope it's the last thing I think of to describe it. Free to be chatty?

I think we found our next title
Free to be...
