I don't want Luke to suffer even more, and he will if he's in the same town as Lorelai. I'd be perfectly fine with a "Luke plays house with Anna" SL.

Hey...maybe that is the reason why they wrecked the diner. To set up that conflict/scenario of Lorelai needing or wanting to help Luke out for the repairs and the place to stay in the meantime.

(But wouldn't his living space in the second floor be spared from the wreckage?)

it depends how bad the damage is... I mean, if the walls are messed up, or if the construction makes it unlivable.... this is just sad to me, cause Lorelai painted that diner, and now it might have to be rebuilt... so they'd have to actually destroy the set, so... ok, I'm gonna cry now... I hope that back counter where is father took that order is still ok.

I want Lorelai to help Luke paint the diner later, maybe by then they'll be back? Maybe at first Luke doesn't want her help but needs it becasue he is out of money. I mean he must have been streched with the CS fix up, now he has no business so no income and all these bills, I scan see a set up for Lorelai helping Luke through this and finding their love again.

aww... but I'd like LL to have at least talked and everything first, then the diner stuff bring them closer... I swear I read a fic about this once...

It could be real destruction - or just someone's idea of comedy, like last year's hole in the wall.

I'd say for the sake of the studio set that it is just a hole in the wall where the door is, guess we'll have to wait for our spies to get back, I doubt they will distroy the diner but it does worry me that this happens now, are we gonna have to start says "what are you doing DR!"

The diner is one of the permanent structures - they can destroy the facade and reconstruct, but the building will still be there.

What if the car being driven through the diner is from one of the troubadours...and wacky weed? maybe it's a sign that the lil vermon that is is simply too much hash...something mellowing...I think it's meant to be comedy in a very dramatic moment...obviously Luke is cranky over Lorelai's ultimatum which makes me think he isn't aware of the squicky yet...maybe some of this really was a dream...GG going to school on Saturday..the weird singers....the psycho psychotherapist....the start end shots of Lorelai's face

Scene 7 - Day 1 - Yale Daily News - Paris is interviewing a mother, Marilyn, and her daughter Kaitlin. She is giving an intense sales pitch, getting the mother to ask Paris to please give her a change and take on her daughter. Paris tells them they both need to take aptitude tests and sets a timer. Paris says she needs to know who's fault it is that the daughter needs help.

Scene 17 - EXT. Luke's Diner

Scene 18 - Day 1 - INT. Luke's Diner - The few people remaining in the diner head for the exit. Luke notices a guy who hasn't paid his bill. He yells for the guy to stop and asks if this looks like a soup kitchen. The customer says the place is a little depressing, but no. Luke tells him to pay his bill. The customer says sorry and hands Luke he money as Luke tells him to get lost.

Scene 19 -

Scene 20 -

Scene 21 - Day 1 - EXT. Luke's Diner - Taylor's Thunderbird is in Luke's Diner (!!!). A tow truck driver is at the scene and asks if they want him to move the truck. Taylor says he'd like to wait for the insurance agents to get there. The driver tells Luke that it's up to him since it's his property. Luke says he doesn't know yet.

Scene 22 - Day 1 - Luke's Diner - - A little later, the driver asks Luke what he wants to do again and Luke explodes: "Do now pressure me, ok?! I don't like being pressured! It's not just one or the other. I need time to think. Will you people just give me some time to think?!" Luke storms off, frustrated.
