Door one - DR is a BB and wants Luke out so we see him in ep 7.01 and that's it.

Door two - He goes MIA for the summer and the diner is left to rot until he comes back and gets it fixed, then gets Lorelai back.

Door three - He stays around to fix the diner with Lorelai's help, they don't break up because Chris was in the diner when the Thunderbird rolled in!

Being optimistic I'm going with Door 3

I think the diner and Luke and Lorelai will be okay in the ens but what is Lorelai going to do for coffee with the diner out of action?

Anyone else wanting ep 2 spoilers NOW!

Okay I had spec a while back "what if a car hits the diner" and now it happens!

where is Luke going to go? I mean, if it is a dream or something, this is the perfect chance for him to move in with lorelai for good... and still after LL reconcile.. but where's he going to go for now?

Luke not knowing what to do with his wrecked diner also shows how messed up he is inside...its his diner!!! But he's all spaced out, grumpy, and "don't pressure me"! It wouldn't surprise me if he does take off for a while (this certainly qualifies as a dark day), his diner is wrecked, he's clueless about what's going on with Lorelai...

It seems like a cop-out for the show, though, if Luke disappears. Or if Lorelai does (highs off to Europe or something). I was all for the Lorelai-tells-Luke in the first epi scenario. (Maybe she still does, towards the end.)

I think it's the same morning as Logan leaving, and Lorelai waking up. Gigi's a preschooler, she could have school on Saturday - or it could be Sunday School...mine went on Saturdays to that.

I kinda think this is a good way for Luke to go and cool down, and to get a time skip in there, and then a great way for LL to bond together later, like working to fix the diner, plus, he'll need a place to stay, and what's better than a house he redid?

The idea of Luke high-tailing it scares the crap out of me. In my mind, they would fight through the summer and be back together again by Nov. But if he leaves there is a possibility of less time ti argue, more time apart.

Hmmm...maybe it wouldn't be so terrible, he DOES have a fiancee (somewhat) with a recently developed house...?

Aww, I hope the diner isn't in shambles though! *goes to reread*

well, from the sides, like's upset about being forced to choose, not about being cheated on... but who knows...

I like the idea of Luke leaving, as long as he comes back the ep after he leaves... gives him time... he said he needed time. He can spend time with April, etc. Then, when he comes back, he'll be in SH again, so LL end up talking, probably fighting, then LL reconcile, and Luke moves in.

and then lorelai runs back to chris...they elope and CL become the endgame.

and luke has another heart-attack and is buried behind the diner.
