I'm thinking it could hark back to 7.03 and somehow tie up the "trying Emily's way" part of Lorelai's journey ... if they plan to come back and resolve that, or at least re-address it, instead of leaving 7.03 hanging forever.

Since I am somehow in the middle of that: I appreciate Cafs post and I think that she might have slightly overreacted is due to the several attacks which happened here in the past.

As for the Captains post I can only say: No offence taken. I understand that when a person who is not constantly posting here and has contact with some other spoiler sources confirms sth there are doubts if they don't have the same source. I guess if somebody different would do that I would have doubts myself, especially if I don't like the spoiler, fair or not.

But in the way the Captain put it, I got it and I don't care that he asked publicly and not via pm, maybe others had the same doubts.

So please calm down, I don't feel offended. Thanks to caf who tries to avoid attacks to potential spoiler sources, which is in the interest of everyone here.

Now back to the dollhouse:
The pretty pretty dollhouse will be destroyed? Oh no! Luke needs to build her a new one

Finally, thanks caf, nice title, and I am sick of fighting. Who gives a ****? Really? Are we going to do this for another year? If we cannot get along for two damn minutes. We obviously want to Pinella each other. Which is lame. This pattern has to end at some point. ETA: And 13 episodes? No TV story with this much exposition can be told in 13 episodes. If it could. It would be rushed. The thing of it is; these guys and gals have hit their stride. If you do not see it. Your glasses...not mine.

The first thing I remembered when I read the spoiler was the episode "Welcome to The Dollhouse" and how the dollhouse is important for Emily and Lorelai.

But it's also true that if Lorelai's relationship with her family can move to a better and healthier place, she won't be Lorelai "baggage" Gilmore anymore and probably will be more ready for a healthy romantic relationship.

It’s sad that the dollhouse will be destroyed, but I hope that at least some great Emily/Lorelai moments will come out of this, the dollhouse meant a lot to both of them. Maybe Luke can fix it again.

Maybe the destruction of the doll house is symbolic of the breaking down of walls between Lorelai and parents - it could also be about Luke, but something about seems more like an parental thing - maybe too that a dollhouse is all about fantasy and playing house. Maybe it is a metaphor to realizing life is not a fantasy - something I believe Lorelai actually said once, if I recall correctly.

ETA: just remembered where she said that - she said it to Luke when he said being with Rachel wasn't the fantasy he'd been toting around....would love for this to come full circle.

Just had that thought about the destroyed dollhouse:
Lorelai got the dollhouse (in SH) when Rory had moved out, she wasn't speaking to her parents and even though Luke was there her "whole package" was so far off without Rory.

So if this thing gets destroyed now, maybe it means she has to face reality, stop playing house and get her "whole package" in real life and not just as a fantasy.

If you want to put symbolism in that.. maybe it will get destroyed in this huge fight.. flying cups, plates, books.... HUGE fight

and then WHAM sth crashes into the dollhouse?!

I think it kind of represents Lorelai and Emily's relationship with Rory being the go between. Kind of symbolizing what Rory was scared of last week. What happens when she isn't there to be in the middle anymore? If the doll house is destroyed it might represent that now Emily and Lorelai only have themselves as go betweens. Rory is kind of like the doll house (it switched between homes, they fought over it etc. etc.) - if the house is destroyed it shows that the only way for LE to communicate now is between themselves. Not through/with Rory.

Totally agree! For me the main arc of Lorelai's story has always been about getting rid of the baggage & pain of the past that so paralyze her emotionally so she can finally move forward with her life. Be that including a romantic relationship or not. But a natural end has always been her having dealt & made peace with all of that, and her being at the precipice of a getting what she's desperately been chasing her entire adult life. Happiness, peace & contentment.

Otherwise the entire show devolves into holding hands & skipping.

You know that thing is standing right next to the stairs

Under certain circumstances you could miss those and crash right into the dollhouse

I was remembering something the tour guide told you about "something big" happening in the second half of the season. It wasn't supposed to be Richard's heart attack, I believe. Did you have any more insights into that?

I just thought perhaps the dollhouse tied into that spoiler. Although "something big" would have to be bigger than the dollhouse, I suppose.
