They show didn't promote this, Sebastian Bach was excited about it and talked about it on his blog. As SB is a rock musician, and Skid Row was popular at a time when I would guess SB easily could have been a Rush fan growing up, I think it would be natural that HE would be excited about this guy being on the show. Even if it were just in a peripheral sense. SB probably got to spend the day with him. To him, it's all about the rock-n-roll!

Totally agree about the doll house, Christine. No clue how it has anything to do with L/L. It has to do with Lorelai & her parents. Though finding a tootsie roll inside would be funny!

Oh, I guess i wasn't clear. I didn't necessarily mean just for LL as a couple but also for them individually. Really mostly individually.

I guess your right, I just wonder why he was there, is it just a case of knowing someone on the show and thought it would be fun?

I'll have to go back and read that blog...

Maybe I'm too much of a sentimental person, but it seems like they are trying to get rid of anything that holds any sentimental value for Luke and Lorelai and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Yeah, I think they hold onto the past far too much, but can't they learn to let go without getting rid of everything that was important to them?
I get what you're saying. Not necessarily that the objects are sentimental L/L SHARED objects, but these are individual sentimental objects of the past that Luke, and Lorelai, had owned/kind of owned.

One thing that makes me happy is that these are two objects that weren't in the forefront for either character in many circumstances...yes, we knew about them, but we also knew it had something big to do with their cherished past. That bugs me, but I'm crossing fingers that they don't set aflame the CS or have Luke's diner get smashed...

Oh wait...crap.

Yeah, I got nothin'

I expect DSR is attempting to ruin all sentimental objects of Luke and Lorelai's, respectively, and make it a 'no big deal, move on' sort of thing for each of them. Blah. Not such interesting storytelling. Yeah, we want them to move on with their live, but they don't have to get rid of things that they care about to move on. It's called a BOX. You stuff it with things. It gets stored in the attic to collect dust.

And as for Luke's Dad's boat, well, it was kind of stupid for him to go sell it just because it's 'holding him back,' when it was pretty darn close to being seaworthy, if not already was. There's nothing wrong with him using THAT boat for his vacations with April...frankly, I think both father and daughter would rather sleep on LAND, anyway. DSR really doesn't get that Luke doesn't friggen have to change his personality to move forward and/or make a good vacation for April. My family, for a few years in a row, rented a cottage by a lake (the lake was in the backyard of the cottage) for a week or two during the summer...very rustic, enough beds for everyone, a few boats came with the place (a motorboat Luke's size, paddleboat, canoe)...we spent the days fishing, swimming, water skiing, riding the motorboat to the docks for the day, shopping, or staying in and watching movies...at night we had bonfires. Good times, great memories...and seriously, it's so totallly something that Luke would enjoy, and April would have tons of fun too (the kids in my family ranged from 5-15, and we all enjoyed it). I only wish they were real so I could go to Luke and snap him back into shape.

Yeah, anyway, I agreed with what she said. I mean, at least Luke's Diner isn't going away forever, and Rory and Emily and Luke are still around, as is the Crap Shack (we believe)...objects are just...objects. Yes, it sucks to lose them, but it's not what matters in the long run. Still, I'm not forgiving DSR for doing this to the characters...though we are aware of reality, we know that these are contrived plot decisions, made to force change upon the characters with as little time as possible, ending up being changes that feel so incredibly inorganic...and I haven't been on the boards for that very reason...this show has turned to inorganic waste.

And it's really bad inorganic waste...because I'm watching another show that's full of contrivance, and yet, it entertains me and doesn't make my head want to explode.

Yeah, so I should go to bed, but I thought I would post what I think are curious lyrics they're having Lorelai sing, if it is Fernando. She thought they were invincible, but when they weren't she doesn't regret her actions, and would do it all again? That's what I've always taken the song's refrain to mean.
Quote:
For liberty, Fernando
Though I never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
Yes, if I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando...
So what? Unless Luke treats her like a queen, 24/7 she'll screw him over again?

That's really interesting Laura. It doesn't really jive with MA's "posessed by an evil spirit" not-a-direct quote.

Since I highly doubt that's the message DR is trying to get out there, I don't think we are supposed to look into the lyrics. My bet on this breaking-into-song thing is that it's super short and silly, much like Wind Beneath My Wings.

10 DBE's later, I'm back.

So MA's wrong, LG has sorta sang on GG. And she sang on Ellen for her birthday once. Not too bad either.

I agree, I think it's a general feeling of the song and not the whole thing. I doubt DSR studied all the lyrics that close.

IMA is a karaoke or SH contest of some kind.

1) Abba do not suck. 2) What's Lorelai's doll house representitive of? A HOUSE! What did Luke and Lorelai never share? A HOUSE! So, if it gets destroyed, then it represents something these two never shared.

However, if Luke repairs it, then it represents these two doing something in the future together. It's a grand metaphor. When a metaphor is grand. You've got to look past the conclusions you already have, and search for new answers. There's only one person in the entire GGverse who could put that dollhouse back together for Lorelai in no time. No; it's not TOM! It's LUKE! See? It makes sense from a certain point of view.

Finally, yes, I have pictures. No, they are not of anything spectacular. Sarah and I took pictures for US. We would have taken pictures for the rest of you, but the show was filming an interiour on Tuesday then an exteriour on Wednesday. The tour I took Wednesday. Did not even get a chance to drive around Stars Hollow. So, no pictures, but a recommendation to take the tour. It's a good way to spend 2 hours. Seeing folks make believe in a grand way is good fun. Good fun.

One last thing; if you are going to do something that you know pisses someone off. Yet, you, continually do it, then the person responds in kind to you pissing them off. Why complain? If you do not want people to piss you off or vice versa..RESPOND DIFFERENTLY. It's one thing to get in a huff about something that's worth fighting over. However, if you are upset that someone is being a dick, then act like a dick back to the person. How are you not carrying on the cycle of snark? Come on...just...come.................................................................................... ........................................................................................on.
