Exactly my thoughts, but the people brought me that stupid spoiler over for the third time now and if I say "He didn't say that" I get an "The source is TVGuide not Ausiello", but I can't find a thing on TVGuide other than Ausiello

I personally feel that GG will be pushing it if they have another season. They should finish up while they're ahead - barely.

I agree, but I also disagree. Because this season was such a disappointment (excluding some stellar episode, like last night's, here and there), I feel like the fans have lost a part of this show and the ending will never match the impact of the series in earlier years.
Another season could act as a redemption....however, it could also add on to the some of the mess DSR has made. Further, if they were going to do another season anyway even after the low ratings of this one, why couldn't they have just made ASP happy and kept her around?

Why CW, why?!?!?!

It wasn't the CW that didn't keep ASP - it was the WB.

I would personally like a 13 episode Season 8. That way they can wrap up the series without dragging it out too long.

Yep *nodding wildly*

I think for a whole 8. season they would have to add some drama again, and honestly I think we had enough of that. Just wrap it up in a good way in 13 episodes and that's it.

Maybe even an epilogue something like "2 years later" would totally be enough, just in an epi which is a bit longer

If they only do a 13 episode season, I can't imagine SP coming back - he would be taking a huge pay cut if he did -

Emily, IMO, in that last scene didn't sound all that confident that R/L would work out or that Rory is currently on a permanent relationship. The body language between R/L both in the wedding scene and at the last scene, it all told me "we've not as close as we once were"
I had to bring this over because I want to say something about this ...

Would you really be like cuddling and hugging after what he did the last time? think they are still close ... Rory was mad, really mad and she couldn't just go to him and be like nothing had happened ... don't forget, he will be in SH in the next episode and I am pretty sure that they will work things out ...

Of course there were thousands of hints where Rory could be after graduation but Logan is now officially out of the Huntzberger Group ... he can do whatever he want and I could imagine that he would love to write ... maybe they take this step together and he would follow her to each newspaper she wants ...

Sure, she doesn't need a man to be successful but you need somebody in your life to come home to ...

And sure here are opinions that GG needs Luke but no Logan ... I think there are a lot of other opinions out there saying that GG needs both ...

I also like the thought of an season with only 13 episodes. Maybe that's what we get. But hey, better than nothing. I can't wait until this is official or declined.

Maybe Scott has the same thing in his contract as Matt, saying that if there will be an 8. season he won't do the other series

It was refreshing to see Rory tell Lorelai that even though Logan was acting like a "jerk" she was hanging in there because she understood he was going through something major - too bad Lorelai couldn't have given Luke the same type of talking to about his behavior last year - and let him know what he was doing was not okay and actually told him how she felt about his actions before her stupid ultimatum.

I did think Rory could have invited the guy in instead of having him stand outside - that was a bit overkill to me - but, at least, she spoke her mind-it would have been nice to see a little dawning of realization from Lorelai - oh well.

ETA: just saw the Variety blurb about SP's pilot - it indicates that the show has been picked up already by CBS - which sounds like it's oa go - I wonder how SP would get out of it if has already been signed on for next year. Curious.

Do we know how big his part is in that series?

I agree somewhat but what Luke did was much more hurtful to Lorelai. They were engaged and had both pledged no more secrets. Plus it was personal while Logan's was about business/business mistake. Luke 'mistake' hit the very core of their relationship.

But Rory is still only 22/23. She doesn't necessarily need a man now. Especially when she's about to go off into the world, and her career. Now doesn't mean, she and Logan can't make it work. Or Rory can't find someone else. But she doesn't nessarily need someone to go home to, now.

Considering she has so many relationships. She can take her time. You don't always have to be with someone...

About SP's pilot. I doubt CBS would have picked it up already. I don't think they even have shot the pilot. They are still casting, right? How do they know it would be any good?

But anyway, if were picked up for next year. Scott's first position would be Gilmore Girls. If it comes back. He's likely to return to GG. And they would recast the pilot.

You often get recasting during the summer, once shows are picked up. There are often conflict of interests or just realizing someone is better for the part than the person they had originally cast.

So chances are still strong unless Scott doesn't want to return to GG's. His part in the pilot would be recast if GG returns.

This sounds good to me.

If this is true that the pilot is picked up for the fall season then SP would have to do the new show and pass on GG (as he hasn't signed on to GG yet.) I'm thinking the the pilot is just ordered to film, not that it is ordered for the new season. Right now, not too many new shows know that they will be orderd for next year. That is what the announcements at the upfronts are for.

If GG comes back Scott would only be obligated to do the show if he has a contract. He has previously stated that he would want to do an 8th season, but if he has a contract with the new show then that takes precedence, not GG. As far as we know he doesn't have a contract to do an 8th season of GG. Anyway, if this will indeed be the last season of GG, maybe he is looking beyond this year and feels he has a better chance of working long-term on another show.
