This is so genuinely you.

The pilot news depresses me. Okay, now I'm REALLY off.

I'd like to think that Emily thinks that Logan is absolutely and completely in love with Rory... and If Rory walked until him, out the house, well, she is taken too. I keep positive, Our couple will be ok. the writers can't be that sick!

ETA: and today is the 80th birthday of Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Mia was a professional success, had a son, and was perfectly happy when we last saw her 4 years ago. Now she suddenly has a new husband.

Could happen to either girl, or anyone - especially with a wave of the continuity fairy's wand. But Rory's life is more open-ended, she could go anywhere, do anything - and meet anyone.

For all the lack of LL scenes, the show spent all seven years establishing that Lorelai's home is in Stars Hollow, they rather pounded in that message this year - and that's where Luke is. Eh.

As I thought. Weird to not even mention him - maybe he's the other Mia's son.
And for 7 years Lorelai has always wanted "more" for Rory. Yet the mere mention of Rory open to the opportunities of going to San Francisco, Seattle or Detroit, draws disdain from Lorelai. It's a complete contradiction.

I wouldn't be surprised if Scott's pilot is contingent on what happens with Gilmore Girls. If the pilot gets picked up and Gilmore Girls does to, and they want him back, and he wants GG. They will recast the role in Babylon.

But it makes it even more apparent CW will have to make a decision. If cast members are looking for other work.

The actor who plays Logan doesn't bother me, because you don't need Logan in the long-term of things.

But you sorta need Luke. If Lorelai and Luke ever have a chance to finally get together, if there is a new season.

I was impressed with Rory tonight. She didn't role over and accept Logan's demands. She fought back.

I agree, it will probably be her ending things with Logan not the other way around. If that happens...

Rory is still young. She doesn't need to be tied down at 22 or 23. Especially with her career opening up after graduation.

Nope, just a normal mother reaction. It wasn't disdain so much as regret that she's getting what she wished for.

She's wants Rory to have more as long as it's within an afternoon's drive from Stars Hollow. I wonder how she ever expected Rory to be a foreign correspondent. Foreign as what? New Jersey?

I said she would never need a man. Not that she would never want a man. And maybe Logan will be that "friend with benefits" she has in her life for however long that stage of her life lasts. As I've said in the past, Rory is not a playgirl. She does not sleep around.

I didn't think so. She is ragging her, because that is what they do. I thought it was her way of letting Rory know that she is going to miss her. I think if it came down to the Hartford paper, or the Seattle paper, where the bad coffee is, she would not choose for her to stay in Hartford. She may want to, but I don't think she would.

No, I'm saying that hasn't been part of her story for much of the show. A specific goal of hers. Unlike Lorelai who has aganized over her *whole package* I think she's really looking to find happiness & peace, but she has put a specific name to it. Most viewers see Rory as going toward academic & professional goals. Not emotional ones.

I don't think it's a complete condradiction. No mother wants their daughter to be 3000 miles away. She does want everything for Rory, Rory could have everything at the NYT or someplace on the Eastcoast, too. Lorelai's always wanted Rory to go out into the world any everything, but it's never been this close to happening before, so she's getting nervous and not so happy about Rory possible moving thousands of miles away, I can't hold that against Lorelai.

I wonder the same thing. She must think that foreign correspondants just stay in a studio and they put blue screen war footage behind them.

She's a mother. She wants more for her child. But it's getting real. Rory will be graduating and has all these chances for jobs all over the country. Lorelai is feeling the seperation anxiety any parent feels. Sure Rory has been away at university and not a every day presence for four years. But still, the idea Rory could be in San Francisco, Seattle.

That is far away to Lorelai, who has always lived in the same state as her daughter.

She would be proud of Rory if Rory took a job away from home. But still parts of her, the part that has been so close to Rory...more so than the average mother, would love if she was in New York or even in the same state.

Being far away is very real.

And makes her see what her mother went through all those years ago. And
Lorelai was even younger when she left. Than Rory is, if Rory left...

It's a natural reaction IMO!

And introduces the parrells between Lorelai and her only mother, Emily!

Isn't this dependent on his having a contract for S8? Which the information about his status is contradictory, at best. If he doesn't then if he's signed some sort of contract with the studio that is producing this show then would this show not be his obligation. He might not have a current obligation like Lauren Graham did.

Personally, I think this episode has the feel of them beginning to wrap up the main storylines of the show. I think the last couple of ones have kinda felt like that. But this one in particular did. I'm expecting us to get notice during this hiatus we're heading into.
