Well, I appreciate the info, if not the content. Not what I wanted to wake up to, after last night's uber-depressing Battlestar Galactica. So, they will either throw Lorelai back with Luke, or everyone will be single at the end of the season/series? How very Grey Gardens those girls are going to end up.

So I just heard about RL breaking up. I'm not surprised especially since it seems that The CW will be using GG actors for other projects.

Now Rory can go back to being Lorelai's tail and all will be well in Gilmore-land.

The columnists have different opinions on the possible future CW's strategy.
Marc Berman, Mediaweek:

Quote:
The CW, unfortunately, got off on the wrong foot by launching with too many on-the-fence performers, which sent the message that the new programming platform was nothing more than the combined efforts of two failed networks. So, what it needs to do is clean house, spend money on development and aggressively promote a slate chock-full of new programming. Ongoing declines for All of Us and Girlfriends and the failure of The Game to generate much interest means that the network should open the week with no fewer than two new comedies on Monday. An early renewal for the fading Everybody Hates Chris was admirable, but the show is no longer capable of anchoring an evening. Nor is the fading Gilmore Girls on Tuesday, which should be allowed to exit with some dignity.

The CW does not have the luxury to cancel everything that really needs to go—that's more than half of its schedule, after all. But the time has come to give up on Veronica Mars. After three years, it's safe to say the critically acclaimed amateur sleuth will never achieve critical mass. While even fading performances for Smallville and Supernatural on Thursday are still worthy of renewal, veteran 7th Heaven needs to also call it quits while there is still a Camden kid left on the series. And I don't see any reason to renew both Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill, so take your pick.

What this all means, of course, is that The CW is looking at a preliminary fall 2007 schedule with potential changes on five of its six nights. (Friday Night Smackdown! is the one exception.) But since the idea this season was to introduce viewers to the network via existing product, the goal in 2007-08 must be to introduce a schedule populated with five to seven new series.
Maybe... But can The CW afford cancelling all of popular series? The new projects are imponderable - their future is a great unknown and doesn't promise the full succes per se.

Anyway,thanks for the info Abby
After the "TA crush" episode,I had a feeling they would break up (too many anvils)

Does MC have a pilot?
I'd really like to know what "anvils" you're talking about, because most anvils pointed in the direction of the "deepening and intensifying" of their relationship like DR suggested in an interview during the start of the season.

And I'd personally like to see some respect from other posters on this thread. I understand that not all of you are RL fans -- but there ARE RL fans who read this thread and that post here who don't need to see gleeful posts of over-used emoticons celebrating the potential demise of their favorite couple.

This sounds new to me. Can you give more info?

My small remark. The L&L fans were going through a difficult period that lasted over a year. It wasn't "potential" demise of their favorite couple, it was full demise.
So, things change!

Excuse me,but where was I disrespectful??

Yes,I'm ok with this spoiler because I prefer Rory to be single and free at the end,but my post wasn't gleeful at all.I just thanked Abby for the info and asked if MC has a pilot (because if he does, maybe that's why they're breaking up R/L for good). It's not like I did an happy dance or anything, jeez.

About the anvils...what Cappucino said
In TV land, when a couple is too happy, too perfect, you can bet there will be trouble ahead.

Firstly, I wasn't referring to anything you said about RL. I was simply trying not to name names.

If you read Sound's of Silence post with attention, you will see that she was only complaining about "gleeful posts of over-used emoticons celebrating the potential demise of their favorite couple" not your post. Don't need to get all upset with her, jeez.

What actors are you referring to? I haven't heard this news before. Is it something you can elaborate on for us?

Nice to hear you have a little birdie, too and that you know things you didn't share with the rest of the class. I remember a certain outburst on your part when some posters here didn't share their knowledge with the rest.

I know about the list and as I stated before I have a whole freaking show of anvils for Luke and Lorelai and look where they ended. Just because the box is labels RL doesn't mean nothing can happen to them. Welcome to the Gilmore world.

Oh now I'm scared. Scott has a pilot so what. Season 8 is already waiting for him. He's not going to turn down another season especially not with the way this season might end and what the next one is holding

And I'm out for the day

Matt Czuchry has apparently been cast in the CW pilot "Gravity".
