In any event, if there is any progress in the Rory and Logan relationship, maybe to celebrate, Emily and Richard invite them and Lorelai and Christopher, as Rory's parents, to dinner. Something that has nothing to do with Lorelai and Chris but is for Rory. As a noted R&L pessimist, I doubt this, but it is a thought that flit through my mind ever so briefly.
Don't give us hope Sandy It's a good spec though, DS will in more episodes and it would be great to see Rory and Logan celebrate their engagement with her hole family. Even greater if it had been Logan's family also.

Wow talk about shatterring the fragile L/L (such as it is) peacemaking.

I am not suggesting that there's anything more to it than there was supposed to be at the dinner he and Lorelai attended when the psychologist was there. At that dinner, it wasn't about the Gilmores putting Lorelai and Chris together. That just was an unintended consequence of Lorelai and Luke's breakup. But, face it, Rory is L&C's child and at important occasions involving Rory, they are going to have to suck it up and be in the same room together. And, if and when there is a reuniting of Lorelai and Luke, he is going to have to be just as understanding.

It could be that but just because L/C are Rory's parents doesn't necessarily mean they both have to be at a dinner for L/R at E/R home - I could see L/R celebrating separately with Chris - if it was a large party that Emily was having including Logan's parents, etc., then yea, I could see Chris being there - but, not for a small family dinner. But, who knows?

Stay out of AB's trailer, Jason. (The poor WB production lot isn't going to know what hit them.)

Finally saw the ep, seemed like a filler ep to me. The Lane & Mrs. Kim parts were fun, but the rest was pretty boring.

And again Lorelai is only able to point out others faults but not her own. When she talked to Mrs. Kim and said that she doesn't want her to miss so much like Emily, who's fault was it?! Mrs. Kim didn't want to go to the baby shower and Lorelai encouraged her to do it, but when Emily invited her and Rory to the x-mas party she refused to go, even said herself things might have been better if she went to the party. So blaming only Emily and her controlling manner is of course the easiest thing to do for Lorelai.

I don’t think Chris will be there for a FND anytime soon. I still think the two plates are for Mitchum and Logan.
Logan like Richard failed a business or in Richard's case made a wrong investment, maybe Logan seeks Richard out for advice and Richard invites Mitchum along to FND to get things right between them.

Maybe the extra seat is for a divorce lawyer for Lorelai. Remember what a big deal she made of Luke getting his divorce at Mailboxes, etc.

Could be, but if the divorce is anything like the marriage, it will probably just be mentioned that the divorce already happened and I wouldn’t have a problem with this.

I was annoyed with Lorelai giving Lane advice about how to deal with Mrs Kim, when she never gave a chance to Emily. Besides, just like Emily and Mrs Kim, Lorelai also was estranged from her daugther for months. She didn't show up at Rory's court date!! And she is only talking to her daughter again because Rory did all the work to fix their relationship.

I didn't get that at all from this episode. I just saw a wistful Lorelai who was sorry her mother had missed moments like these -- I didn't see a blame game at all. I don't think the comparison between Lane/Mrs. Kim and Lorelai/Emily was meant to go any farther than that there are great, generational differences that can be resolved when they show respect and love for one another.

Yep, was just writing something similar Tara ... post it anyway

Sandra, I did not see Lorelai blaming anyone. She merely mentioned this:

Quote:
LORELAI: Yeah. I don't think that was in the musical. The point is there are fights you can recover from and fights you can't, and not going to your daughter's baby shower -- I mean, I know it's hard, but I don't want you to draw a line in the sand now that you can't cross later. My mother missed so much. I don't want that to happen to you.
She didn't say her mom was to blame at all. Or I didn't hear that. She was just as much drawing a line in the sand (with the xmas party) so she could have easily been speaking about herself. But I felt Lorelai does not care about that anymore ... who was right, who was wrong ... her mom cares and worried, that is what matters. Not who wins ... I really felt she could finally see the bigger picture. And I guess it will be even more clearer that her mom did care and all when she finds out in the next ep that Emily already met Mia ...

Quote:
LORELAI: You know does it really matter who was or wasn't writhing? I mean your mom was worried about you.
