Well the above is spec on my behalf but the way I see it, it's pretty much a given that he'll be back for Rory's graduation.

The Futon Critic ( LINK) has changed the GG (projected) schedule again, which now matches Ausiello's - hiatus ends on April 10th with 7.18 airing that night and runs straight till 7.22 on May 8th.

May 8th? The show would be ending either the week of...or week before....upfronts are supposed to happen. I would not make a big deal out of it or anything. However, ending on May 8th (this early again), seems a bit odd. Are they diametrically opposed to this show having a finale past the first week of May?

mediavillage: Have you ever wondered about the years Lorelai and Rory spent away from Stars Hollow? In this episode, they head to North Carolina to attend the wedding of a woman name Mia, who took them in and served as their surrogate mother and grandmother during that time. Emily invites herself along and is surprised and upset by the close relationship Mia has with Lorelai and Rory. But Lorelai is even more surprised when she learns that Emily and Mia have met before. Back home, Lane and Zack ask Luke to be godfather to their twins. Kathy Baker is the guest star.

I wonder what their intent is with the Mia storyline - whether it is to further attempt some understanding of each other between Emily and Lorelai - or will there be some back story to Mia's situation that will somehow have an impact on Lorelai (Luke or work related) or is just to show the three girls bonding together....maybe a combo of all three.

Given TJ's comment a few weeks ago about how Lorelai seems to be turning up at hospitals, I would guess that maybe when the girls return home they find out about Lane and head to the hospital - that L/L have another tiny scene. Or not.

It's a mystery how they can wait so long about whether there will be another year given that actors, etc are lining up new gigs now for the Fall season - seems surprising that all these talented folks on this show would be left hanging. Unless, of course, they are going about their business and trying to secure another job and will end up leaving even if there is an 8th season.

I see alot of whats going on now as the writers tieing up loose ends so the series can come to an end. Lorelai reaching an understanding with her parents is definitely one of those.

Well, I hope it isn't some nonsense like Mia is finally marrying her true love after years of obstacles being in her and her fiance's way and this triumphant story propels Lorelai to follow her heart or some such thing - I don't need any more heavy handedness with respect to L/L.

Thanks everyone for the congratulations on the 6000+ posts. I'm not sure if this is an achievement or something that just happens to you.

Speaking of Christopher, as you were, I always thought he'd just be back for Rory's graduation. However, didn't someone also report that there were six place settings at the Gilmore's for dinner in episode 7.19? (Or, was it 7.18?) In any event, if there is any progress in the Rory and Logan relationship, maybe to celebrate, Emily and Richard invite them and Lorelai and Christopher, as Rory's parents, to dinner. Something that has nothing to do with Lorelai and Chris but is for Rory. As a noted R&L pessimist, I doubt this, but it is a thought that flit through my mind ever so briefly.

So he'll turn up for the graduation, well we hope he does. That will make anything going on with Luke and Lorelai interesting to say the least.
