I do agree. Chris was adrift this season. I think only Amy was able to write for him, or get him. Although I did like Lorelai and Chris. And hated how sudden it ended. But it makes sense that Lorelai got caught in all of it. Chris seemed different, more grown up until the circumstances that lead to the breakup started. Then he went back to his old self.

Sorta like what Logan is going through. All his work is for naught, and now he's back to being childish. Now, I do think the big disaster at work is going to make an impact. But I would have though he had learned something from his near fatal accident last year. Now he's off to Vegas to blow off steam, while Rory is back at home.

Not that he had to attend the baby shower. He could have stayed home. Sulked. Get drunk. But running off seem like old Logan. Not the new improved Logan.

Which makes me think he and Rory aren't going to work out.

As Rory seems to be starting to get on track in her career. Getting opportunities.

Definitely, these writers can't write Luke, they have written a new Luke that is not Luke anymore. I am not sure if I am explaining well, he had to change but more that change was "open" himself to let other go into.. he has changed for April, why he has changed for April that much and he couldn't change for Lorelai just a little. it seems really weird for me. Luke has been transformed in other guy. Iwould like him Finishing his father boat.. it is like if he were able to cut strings to the things that were not ready, as if his relationship with Lorelai is over and he is just moving on.. that is the way how I am reading this sorry.

i get what you are saying but - not completely - He is still Luke just changed to the point of his heart is broken and was repaired a bit by a daugther he never knew he had - He did change always for Lorelai he became movie guy, he wore different clothes, he did stuff for the town, he just couldn't share something that was so raw and new (april) with her and because of her own crisis with Rory couldn't handle being turned dow, until he could figure it out with April but she couldn't wait for that so she bolted - he is a new luke just with bad diaglogue which is sad

Him cutting ties with the boat I think is so healthy, because what liz said made perfect sense, it was just time, and he knew it and him always being cordial with Lorelia is his way of coping

Except Logan isn't Chris. And I think once Logan regroups, he'll realize his mistake and this little sidestep will be put behind them.

So I guess the boat is Kirk's so is it in her garage on the show or just for storage on the back lot, don't like to think of Kirks's boat in Lorelai's garage!

Huh. The not telling Rory for weeks reminded me much more of Luke than of Chris. And that was confirmed for me, when they showed her telling her mother about it and then pointing out that it wasn't the end of the world and that she and Logan would work it out. After all, they can't actually fight about it next week, if Rory ignores it, as Lorelais are prone to do. Funny how we all watch the same thing and see such different things.
