The promo was really cute, IMO.

It showed Lorelai saying "Road trips are fun" and Rory on the phone replies, "I'm in." The Announcer guy says that it's a "Gilmore Girls Road Trip." They show L/E/R in a car, and Emily tells Lorelai to stop playing with the window, and Lorelai says "Mom!" Emily goes on to say that it's called a child lock, appropriately enough. Then they're at a diner/restaurant, and emily orders a chardonay, explaining that it's the clear one. Lorelai makes a funny face. Then it shows the girls in a motel room, Rory saying that it's a girls only road trip, and Lorelai quips, "No boys allowed, except that male stripper we hired," and they cut to Emily shocked face.

I don't see them getting back together in the last 4 eps.

I really liked the whole episode from beginning to end. The townie event was perfect; we got a good balance of everyone. I can't believe that I am really enjoying the Lane pregnancy this season, but I have to give props to the writers for making even Zach interesting and especially for giving us the always enjoyable Mrs. Kim. Lorelai was extra sweet with Rory tonight. I saw more of Lauren with Alexis in their two main scenes.

Good episode. Next week will be even better.

She had a WTF? FACE... and was surprised that luke has changed.

She said "Just like that. You bought a boat. It used to take you a week to buy a new tshirt. You bought a boat"

Luke says goodbye...Cue wistful look and then more wistfulness as she stares at her all grownup baby girl

I agree with everything. I really enjoyed this episode. And I also think it's cute seeing Zach play a father type figure (singing Mockingbird was cute)

Just everyone interacting with eachother in this episode was good. No one was only in the episode to make it funny. We had Patty ask about Chris. We had the R/L drama. Mrs. Kim/Lane mixed in with Lorelai stuff. And Rory and Lorelai TALKING.

All in all I liked the episode. It was cute.

And next week's episode seems like a must see

GG ROADTRIP (Girls Only).

ETA: OMG i'm so crazy I put "I really enjoyed this wedding"... "Wedding" in replace of "episode". I see LL in one scene and i'm talking about weddings. Sheesh

Lancer, you got your brief LL scene--and I could be equally right that it won't be in 7.17.

Luke has enough $$$ to buy a boat with a kitchen. Cash, apparently, since he did it in a couple of hours. [Sarcasm Alert] Unfortunate the he is evil b/c he has $$$. But Logan is now great, since he is poor.

She asked him about what this is that she heard about him sellling it. Then she basically just listened on while he talked about getting a new better one, that he can take April out on, since he knew he'd never finish the old one. She said that that was good. And then she joked about how it used to take him a week to by a T-shirt. She didn't really say much, but her sad lookwhen Luke said that "Things Change" said a lot, IMO.

I don't think Luke's cutting his strings with the town. I think he was told so many times that day that all he does is do the same thing every day and work in the diner, and cook in the diner, and everything that he just wanted to do something to show that he could do something different every once in awhile.

I literally LOL'd at several moments this episode. Logan with his drunken "the phone was onoff" speech, The morphed baby pictures at the shower, Lulu having a crush on Gil...all WONDERFUL and classic GG.

I even liked Lorelai, and L/L again. I am glad it is slow and subtle. It's what they needed. Also, I think Lorelai at the end, looking at the scene in front of her, everyone happy and involved in each others lives again, and her smiling, was also an anvil that she is becoming OK with herself for who she is, and where she is in life. Marriage or no marriage, partner or no partner, she is happy. (yes, a smile can portray all that

)
