Caf, thanks for the thread, the title is perfect!
Bringing it over from the previous thread, because I couldn't answer.

Why should they?
Two different things are mixed here: my opinion on show characters, and my opinion on actors. I don't care about Rory and Logan as a couple, but I don't think, Matt Czuchry is a bad actor. More, I'm convinced, he's a much better than AB. Probably I differ with you on this point.

Teaser:
Rory and Lorelai are shopping for Lane’s shower. They bought onesies for people to decorate. They’re talking about the planning of the shower. Rory gets a phone call from the New York Times. She sounds excited. She hangs up Lorelai and her start getting excited. Hugo Gray who Rory writes for (who she met at Logan’s pre-launch party), set up this meeting with AJ Abraham who wants to have coffee with Rory to pick her brain. Lorelai says that she’ll take care of the rest of the plans for Lane’s baby shower. Rory says that she should probably stay over at Logan’s place tonight because her laptop is there and she needs to prep for the meet. Rory is excited.

02:
Lorelai is decorating the CS and Sookie is sitting there looking through a tabloid. Lorelai cracks a Britney joke. Lorelai tries to get Sookie to do something to help out but Sookie uses pregnancy as an excuse. Sookie goes through pictures to look for a good picture of Lane to blow up but she can only find ones of Rory.

Logan comes home and throws his jacket and hits something that falls and that causes Rory to wake up. It’s 3am. Logan is trying to make a sandwich but he’s too drunk to do it himself. Rory makes it for him. Logan says that Philip and him went out for drinks. Rory was worried about him because she called but his phone was off. He senses that Rory is upset so he says to forget the sandwich and then he goes to bed fully dressed.

Zach is dealing with a customer. He seems overly enthusiastic. Kirk has been published in the Stars Hollow Gazette. He’s proud of himself. It’s a classified ad for a dinette set. He’s trying to sell it to Zach. Zach tells Luke that he hasn’t RSVP’d to the baby shower but Luke says that he doesn’t think he’s coming but he has a gift. Kirk asks if he has to dress like a baby for the shower. Zach tells him that he’s ok. Kirk continues reading the classifieds and comes across Luke’s boat. Luke grabs the paper and then picks up the phone.

Mrs. Kim is with a customer who wants to buy the end table on a memo. Lorelai comes in and when handing the pictures over Mrs. Kim gives strict instructions on how the handle the pictures. Lorelai says that she’ll see her at the shower but Mrs. Kim says that she won’t be coming. Lorelai plays 20 questions to figure out why she’s not coming.

03:
Lane opens her door to see Lorelai there. Lorelai “wows” at Lane’s size. Lorelai asks Lane about what’s going on with her and her mother. Lane explains that last night they had an argument over Lane wanting to allow her children to eat fried shrimp, letting her kids to have total freedom, letting her kids to choose their own music, etc., and not going to even take them to church. Lorelai says that maybe her kids will love religion and church. Lorelai tells her to tell her mom that she wouldn’t mind but she says no. So Lorelai says that she’ll tell Mrs. Kim.

Rory gives Logan pills and water. It’s noon. She asks him what’s going on and he replies nothing. He asks why Rory is all dressed up and she explains that it’s the NYT coffee-thing. He remembers. She tells him that he has to be ready as soon as she gets back because they need to leave ASAP for the baby shower. His dad’s secretary has called numerous times and Rory tells Logan that he should call them back. He doesn’t want to. As Rory’s leaving the phone rings again and Logan tells her not to answer it. When she leaves the voice mail machine kicks in and it’s Mitchum’s secretary again.

Liz and TJ are the ones who were selling Luke’s boat. They want to clean out the garage so that it’ll be a place for Doula to play in. They were going to give the money to Luke once it was sold. Luke says that he’s not selling the boat and that he’ll find another place to store it. Liz and Luke argue about their dad. Liz says that he did the same thing day in and day out and that sometimes a little change maybe a good thing.

Rory calls Lorelai while she’s at the coffee shop but she can’t figure out who is AJ since he explained he was bald but every guy there seems bald. Rory’s nervous and babbles about coffee and losing her table. Rory asks about the baby shower and Lorelai hesitates which causes Rory to freak out. Rory hangs up and waits.

04:
Lorelai and Mrs. Kim negotiate on Lane’s kids regarding going to church, what they eat and where they play. They go back and forth. Lorelai talks about her relationship with her mother and says that she doesn’t want that to happen to her.

Luke calls April. She talks to him about her swimming classes. They talk about this summer when April comes to visit. Luke tells her that for the six weeks she will be there they should go on one big trip. He suggests Disney World in Florida. April seems stunned that Luke would go to Disney World or even to the beach. She tells him that he doesn’t have to do this because she doesn’t expect it. She’ll ok with doing the regular thing like working at the Diner and stuff. Luke seems disoriented.

Mrs. Kim and Lorelai visit Lane. Lorelai tries to initiate the conversation. Mrs. Kim wants Lorelai to talk, so she does. They make up. Lane gets pains and Mrs. Kim and Lorelai leave with her in a rush to go to the hospital.

05:
Lane has been put on bedrest. Mrs. Kim, Lorelai and Zach are there with her. Lane blames her mother for this because she is the one who suggested that she go to the hospital. Lane is upset that she cannot go to her baby shower because it may be her last. Mrs. Kim says that she WILL have the party – Lroelai will figure something out.

Rory gets home and Logan is not ready. Logan wants to hear how her interview went. But Rory rushes him. Logan tells Rory to sit down because he wants to talk to her. He explains that the company he bought went belly up. He lost his money, his dad’s money and his investors’ money because he rushed into the whole thing without researching properly. Rory asks him how long this has he known. He says weeks and Rory asks why he didn’t tell her. Logan says that he was trying to find a loophole. Rory takes it lightly and Logan tells her that it’s not something to take lightly. Rory asks him if he spoke to his dad yet and Logan says no. But, that any minute Mitchum will come barging in to tell him what a failure he is. He doesn’t feel up to going to a baby shower so Rory says she’ll see him later. He tells her that he won’t be there because he’s going to Vegas with Colin and Finn. Rory is upset but Logan says he has to do this because he needs a break.

Kirk comes to Luke and says that he heard he wants to sell his boat. Luke says that he called him himself. They go outside and Kirk checks out the boat. Luke is selling it for $600 but Kirk tries to negotiate; Luke stands firm.

Lorelai and the whole town are decorating Miss. Patty’s. Rory comes in and Lorelai wants details, but Rory wants to know why the baby shower has moved. Lorelai explains it’s because Lane is on bed rest. Lorelai, Rory, Zach and Mrs. Kim are pushing Lane on the street in her bed which is on wheels.

06:
The party is in full swing. Lane and Zach are on Lane’s bed greeting guests. Miss. Patty asks Lorelai how she’s doing about the whole Christopher thing. She says that she’s doing ok, moving on. Gypsy and Babette are painting onesies. Gil and Brian are looking at computer-morphed pictures of the kids and discussing them. Rory stands up to make a speech. She’s known Lane for 17 years. Lane’s having boys. Rory and Lane sit down and chat. Lane tells her about Lorelai helping out to make amends with her and her mother. Lane asks Rory to be her Lorelai Gilmore (god mother to her kids).

Mrs. Kim gives Lorelai a present – a doorknob. Mrs. Kim asks for the pictures. Lorelai says that she’ll drop them off tomorrow.

Lorelai bumps into Kirk who explains that he bought Luke’s boat.

Rory pulls Lorelai outside and they chat. Rory wants her to fill her in on the whole Lane/Mrs. Kim thing. Lorelai asks about her interview. Rory says that it went good but that she doesn’t want to think about it. Lorelai says that she’ll think about it. Lorelai asks when Logan’s getting there, but Rory says that he’s not coming and she explains what happened. She says that it explains why he’s been acting so weird. She says that he’s off to Vegas but she hopes things will work out. She wishes she knew earlier so she could have helped. Lorelai tells her that there’s nothing she could have done. Rory tells her that Lane asked her to be her Lorelai Gilmore (what Lorelai was to Lane while she was growing up) and those are big shoes to fill. Lorelai says that they have similar feet. Zach comes out and Rory goes to help him with the cake.

As Lorelai is looking at a picture of Lane and Rory Luke walks up and says that it seems just like yesterday she was like that. Lorelai says that she heard Kirk bought his boat. Luke says that he sold it to him but has gone and bought a new boat today that April and him can use during holidays. Lorelai is stunned that he bought a boat in a day when it used to take him weeks to buy a shirt. Luke says that things change. He smiles and goes inside.

Zach sings “Mockingbird” to Lane while she gets her cake. Lorelai looks on smiling.

Can I just say that either a) the writers are on crack because I cannot fathom how Logan could have lost all of the Huntzberger money, or b) they didn't make it clear that Logan only lost what he invested out of his own pocket, the investors' pockets, plus perhaps a little of the Huntzberger money.

It seems slightly ridiculous... I take that back - it seems HIGHLY RIDICULOUS.
