Wow so in epi 19 something good will happen for the JJs? Who would have thought?!

I liked the end of the last epi, although Logan was annoying me again with his "spoiled rich boy" attitude

I'd need Lorelai to recognize, or remember, what's wrong with Christopher, which is much more than "just not right". He actually neglected his daughter, not for a few years but for most of 20 years. And he hasn't changed, he didn't redeem himself, he's never fought for Rory, he's never even tried very hard. He risked his younger daughter to a dodgy elopement where he knew he was "second choice".

Did she only care that he was someone who loved her and whether she could love him back? Did she really see him as a "marvelous possibility" while saying she was "all in" with Luke? Did she not care about his lack of character at all - and most importantly, because I suspended judgment while watching this "journey" - does she still not care?

If she wanted Christopher, she could have had him in WBB.

The plot doesn't hang together and she's been all over the place this year. She "wasn't really surprised" when he left the hospital - but apparently that has nothing to do with him randomly happening to be "just not right".

There may be other parts of her character but we're left with her seeing this kind of person as "the man she wants to want" and that changes her character's moral core.

I don't look for moral lessons on TV, but when I need to suspend my basic beliefs to watch a character, then I find myself not caring what happens to her.
.
I want all that to - but I don't see us getting with DSR at the helm, I want him gone, bring back someone who can write - I don't want to believe anything lorelai said while she was with chris -

I stand by what I said that DSR couldn't write DS or LG together \

maybe her not being surprised was the one key thing that woke her up

maybe just maybe all this happened off camera and when her and luke talk she might bring that stuff up with Luke - which would somewhat depressing and somewhat pathetic

Sorta like what Logan is going through. All his work is for naught, and now he's back to being childish. Now, I do think the big disaster at work is going to make an impact. But I would have though he had learned something from his near fatal accident last year. Now he's off to Vegas to blow off steam, while Rory is back at home.

Not that he had to attend the baby shower. He could have stayed home. Sulked. Get drunk. But running off seem like old Logan. Not the new improved Logan.

Which makes me think he and Rory aren't going to work out.

As Rory seems to be starting to get on track in her career. Getting opportunities.
Except this time Logan isn't going to jump off of a cliff. From 7.17 episode description and the spoilers we have for 7.17 and 7.18, doesn't seem like Logan will end in a hospital bed again.

Rory didn't seem really upset with Logan's trip to Vegas. She was more saddened because she couldn't help him and also wanted to introduce him to everyone in SH. And we already know that Logan and Rory are together in SH during the spring fling in 7.18. So I think they will work out their issues at the end of next episode.

Mrs Kim was wonderful as always and even Zack and Lane were cute.

But if these writers would show some sense in the next episodes, following this one, sincerely I think that Lorelai and Luke won't be back together as a couple. He seems so done with her, and she seems to understand that their relationship was the past... the fact that he changed by April makes me feel that he really wants to live a new life with his daughter even than she is not asking for that, she is ok with Luke just as he is... while Lorelai the one who wanted him to open "a little" his life for her got NOTHING or almost nothing from him, now Luke is ok waiting for his time with his daughter, and Lorelai is fine, living her life and helping other people, loving her daughter, her town and her townies, her smile in the last scene makes me feel that it is her life! I know that is very probably that some 'earthquake' put they together again, but I saw nothing like that in this episode, just two friends talking as friends, Luke was considering to call her the last episode, in this one at least he should invite her to return to the party with him...
I think L/L are trying to feel good with themselves first, which is a very mature attitude after all the things they have been living the last months. So in this context they are doing their first aproaches to regain their friendship and then in a very natural way they will regain their romantic feelings too.

I found it very realistic that in a mature context people act this way, so I'm expecting to see them giving each step till they are back again.

Sorry I'm so late to catch up, but I agree 100% Cheryl.

Signs of life, friends! In an episode built around the celebration of Lane and Zack's pregnancy, the writers finally found Stars Hollow's heartbeat.

And that's how I knew that maybe Gilmore Girls was back on track. For the first time this season, I was reminded that I don't just like watching this world. I want my own version of it.
TV Guide:

It’s almost as if Lorelai and Rory have a domino effect on people. When they are at their best, everyone comes to life and their true identities emerge. We like what we see (uh, sorry, Logan) and I have a feeling the best is soon to come.
And the ratings:
Quote:
The first hour of "American Idol" scored a 16.5/25 for FOX at 8 p.m. CBS' "NCIS" assumed its customary second position with a 10.3/15. "Dateline" was third for NBC, beating out an "America's Funniest Home Videos" rerun, 3.5/5, on ABC. "Gilmore Girls" earned a 2.8/4 for The CW.

Just saying, his first instinct is to run. To go blow off steam. Now it was a major disaster and it's realistic that he's not happy. He's depressed. But it just seems he's going back to to his old ways in how he deals with it. Yeah, Rory didn't have a major issue with it. But you can tell she wasn't happy. Especially considering how he kept it a secret for weeks, and then sprung it on her. And, "oh, yeah, I'm going to Vegas."

I just think it's the beginning of some major problems with them. As Rory is starting to think about her career post graduation. They may patch things up, for now. But it feels like they are going to face a major bump.

But who knows. It's still not a given there is a season next year, right?. So who knows, how it will all end for Rory and Logan. But I get this feeling, that this disaster at work won't be a positive in the long-run for their relationship.

I get what you are saying, though I don't see that same way. I still think RL will survive those issues and end up this season as a very happy couple.

First, if DSR wanted viewers to believe that Logan is a bad guy, he wouldn't have bothered to point out in 7.15 the this is a guy who grew up in a cold family and never had a birthday cake. And also Matt Czuchry did say in his last interview to roryandlogan.net that we would see changes in Logan's character, in the way he approaches his life. So I expect to see some kind of phoenix-transformation in Logan the next episodes with a good result at the end.

Of course if there is a new season, they will throw not only more problems for RL but also for other characters.

I loved that whole scene, Tara Ashley! It was nice to see Sookie and Lorelai talk about things that weren't involving Lorelai's love life or the Inn.

Yup, Matt's response saying that we'll see a side of Logan we haven't seen before makes me believe that he won't be Old Logan very much longer. I hope he proves his critics wrong. Just a little hiccup last night is all.

Yes! It just had a really nice feel to it. And Sookie was hilarious.
