Title Suggestions?
How about "The New and Improved Logan?" which I vote for.

Actually, she ran away from a controlling grandmother, not the world. In fact, she maintained contact with the DAR ladies after she left the Gilmore house and refused to quit the DAR when Emily inisisted in FNAFF. Rory seems to enjoy many of the social aspects of that world that Lorelai just considers pure torture.

I have to agree with George on this one.

I think it showed that she was as equally comfortable and happy in the Club as in the CS in Stars Hollow, rather unlike Lorelai. Hence "the bridge". And Rory has literally acted as a bridge between Lorelai and her parents for most of these seven years.

At least while ASP was in charge I was convinced that at least part of Rory's destiny was to reconcile Lorelai with her parents.

It is awful. The whole outfit is awful. And after she looked so beautiful and sexy in the last episode. It's like, whenever Rory shares a scene with Lorelai, they like to make Rory look younger and dumpier. She can't be a sexy woman. Maybe the implication is that Lorelai will look older in comparison.

Thanks for the picturesl LG-Life's Good. I especially love the last two. The first of these two I see Lorelai looking all friendly and loving towards Mia and Emily is showing a classic Emily look of well, contempt/disapproval while looking at Mia ... not positive at least. But in the last one, I see Lorelai looking at her mom with a nice, positive look and well Emily looks all friendly towards Mia! Hope ??? Well, after looking again, I kind of liked all the pics I do not have major issues with the dresses. I guess I kind of like the dresses individually, but damn do they clash when Rory and Lorelai stand next to each other ...

Captain, I agree!

LG-Life's Good, thanks for the HQ stills.
I'm really looking forward to this episode.

I suggest:

Well, for what is worth, I don't think Lorelai's outfit is all that hot either.

They both look like they are dressed for a picnic, not a wedding; unlike Emily, who looks positively regal in those photos.

ETA: I shall vote for the Logan title.

"Sorry, I disliked that you were evasive with me and wanted me to lie with you. Sorry that I took offense at your insulting everyone at my party and wanted to have it publicly printed!" Ugh.
Logan apologizes and they do talk - but only about their relationship. Perhaps that's typical of some early-20-somethings but it doesn't seem terribly mature to me.

The JJ's feel very entitled. Implied contract for instance? If we don't get what we want then the show has been destroyed forever.... That kind of thing.
Putting aside the old 'define JJ' question - what's wrong with some viewers perceiving that as the core of the show. Or saying it destroyed the show for them? It's a PoV. Although I've seen more posters say - rather more nuanced here - that it's the manipulation, the soap opera LLD tactic, or the OOC behavior as defined by LG, that destroyed the show for them. For others, C/L was a deal-breaker - even Ostroff now calls that "weak".

I co wonder what your reaction would be if R/L split up and Logan left the show? Matt said whether he and Rory end up together depends on whether it's a season or series finale. That hardly sounds like the show is eternally commited to that couple.

Quote:
I don't personally think hating Logan is the problem, as much as it is the constant harping on how much they dislike him and Rory, how boring they are, how they shouldn't be happy together
Why is it "harping on" to post how you dislike Logan but not "harping on" to post how wonderful he is?

We so rarely hear from posters who dislike R/L together these days.

Quote:
(and this part is implied) Lorelai and Luke aren't happy together, and if THEY are not, then Rory and Logan sure can't be. They can't have theirs first, even if the progression of their relationship is light years ahead. Frankly, dislike Logan all you want, but if you keep bringing it up, people who DO like him are going to get fed up and challenge you on it ... every time.
Sounds like to "know" what someone else is "implying"?

Quote:
Actually, most of these "fans" think that she doesn't have it in her to be Christiane Amanpour, but they don't like her with Logan either.
Heh, I think Rory has it in her. And according to her last interviews, so did ASP. Rory's perceived weaknesses were miraculously resolved by the rift.

Quote:
They like the child Rory, not the adult, learning that life throws you for a loop and sometimes you don't measure up.
Not according to ASP, but more importantly - Rory did NOT learn that she didn't measure up. She learnt that she can drop out for a full term, return mid-term although that's strictly against Yale's rules, and miraculously graduate on time without even experiencing the consequence of summer school.

From last week's episode, it was Mitchum who learnt something. All Rory learnt was that he was wrong and she shouldn't have listened to him.

Apparently, history is about to repeat itself. Heh.

On the rest - Rory did end up rejecting E&R's lifestyle. She kept in touch with some DAR friends she'd made, that's all.

According to the show, neither Rory nor anyone can enjoy the fruits of that wealth without paying the price in independence. Lorelai rebelled against her parents' attempts to control and change her. Rory barely lasted six months before doing the same. Now Logan will follow in their footsteps.

On ye olde seating chart prank - sure, Lorelai did that. She also threw a last-minute bridal party, ran interference for Richard with the necklaces, and generally fulfilled her role as daughter of the renewing couple to perfection. When Luke and Christopher were shouting at each other, she told Luke 'this isn't the time" - again respecting her parents' occasion.

Rearranging the seating chart (especially when she wrongly thought there wasn't time left to fire the wedding planner) quite palls compared to Emily's outright treachery in scheming and conniving behind her back to destroy her daughter's happiness.

Quote:
Lorelai has never been shown to be the intellectual Rory is. She certainly
doesn't read the books Rory does....
"Top of her class" according to Richard. Lorelai's moment of yearning in Road Trip to Harvard wasn't regret about not hitting the books harder - it was yearning for what she missed by getting pregnant at 16 - though this is unproveable as it was shown in expressions not words.

Quote:
Sometimes this does get to the point of being no longer "sharing my opinion" but of hitting those of us who are fans over the head with a hammer.
Funny, I feel hit over the head by endless repetitions of the Voltronist splinter theory of this show.

Voltronist splinter theory of this show.

1. I disagree. Go back and check the transcripts for 7.05, 7.08 and 7.13; they talk about everything that is going on in their lives (Rory's school experiences, Chris and Lorelai, Logan's business, etc.) And you need to talk about your relationship at any age, or else it's dead. So I don't know how talking about your relationship is suddenly "immature"

2. Again, I beg to differ. Rory, according to 6.14, is a fully fledged member of the DAR. And she looked mighty cozy, comfortable and even domestic in the MV cottage in 6.15. And I have not seen any evidence this year that she's "rejecting that lifestyle" this year either.

3. What the heck is that? Amusing terminology, that is. Sounds rather like the Sophie Suprastructural Analysis Team. LOL.
