Yeah I thought that was sweet of him.

Oooooh, Logan's 25. I'd been meaning to ask this all weekend, cause that's how old I assumed he was going to turn. Someone posted that 25 is the age that it's appropriate to consider marriage, so I guess Logan's well old enough, now?

Thanks for the thread, recap and spoilers.

Interesting that Logan quits work (?). So when he's in Stars Hollow in the next episode he's unemployed, and Rory's busy with interviews? I can see this being set up as some kind of test for Logan/Rory. He's been under his father's thumb, forced to grow up, pressed into working, and made to toe the line. I wonder if Mitchum cuts him off financially so he's on his own, and maybe that'll put his work ethic/ambition to the test?

Most of R & L's problems this season have been minor -- petty jealousies, taking umbrage at something said, normal couply insecurities -- but they haven't had to deal with anything really big. It seems Rory's ready to go full steam ahead professionally, and if she thinks Logan's being immature with this business mess, she won't be tolerant of him wasting his talent if he decides to kick back.

I said last week I thought they were too perfect -- as someone said on the last thread, it seems like the calm before the storm, and maybe this is it. If there is one.
You mean minor like LIVING ON DIFFERENT CONTINENTS??

ETA: Considering how supportive of Rory, Logan was when she quit Yale, I'd spec she is equally supportive of him now. Ask Ausiello

Tara, this ep was better than GB

Wait...doesn't Logan travel to Mia's wedding to make up with Rory? So how could she be supportive of him now?

Did anyone else notice that they forgot that Rory's 8th birthday was shut down by cops? How could a teddy bear picnic be shut down by cops?

Catching up, but does anyone know if Logan bought that company for the family company? Or did he do it for himself? I feel like Lorelai talking about avoiding geting personally sued is about to come up. Or is that supposed to be obvious?

I'm only 17 minutes into it, but I'm LOVING this episode. LG is radiant, I want to jump Logan, and I absolutely adore the maid who speaks inaudibly!

It's a turning point, because Logan had been working for his father, in his father's company. Logan quitting implies that he is turning his back on that, and going off on his own. That's a pretty big deal.

Regardless if anyone's feelings re: Chris, AB played that scene as if Rory absolutely didn't give a crap about Chris taking off; she pretty much told Lorelai that she had been expecting it.

I think he told Rory he went to his father and Mitchum turned him down, so I think he was doing this deal on his own.

Both Rory and Logan are old enough and should get married tomorrow. It's written in the stars!

7.16 Logan tells Rory; she's supportive. Logan tells about his Vegas plan, Rory worries. I'm assuming Logan goes.

7.17 Logan and Mitchum argue; he quits Huntzberger Media. Rory takes Mitchum's "side"; they argue. Rory goes on road trip. They make up at Mia's wedding.

7.18 Rory is happy as she comes from her Providence interview.
Rory and Logan in SH
Rory is happy Lorelai is "getting to know him." Lorelai is "glad."

From what we know of the sides to 7.18, both Gilmore Girls seem pretty "supportive."

The storyline that had so much potential, but fizzled out with petulance, petty jealousy, and an expeditious transfer to NYC, instead of dealing with real long-distance relationship issues?

Perhaps Emily Gilmore should drink more often.

That's the take-away I get from this episode. When Emily drinks, she's warm and open, and almost forgiving of her "wayward" daughter Lorelai. When she doesn't drink, she's prickly, mean, and prone to judge everything and anything, including how her daughter is managing her life.

If I were Lorelai and I had the choice, I think I'd take drunk Emily any day of the week. And I think Lor realized that as she walked out of the Gilmore family dining room at the end of this episode.
