| Gilmore Girls S&S #166 ~ The CW Promo Department Sucks. Period. Hi everyone. I’d like to remind you all that this is the main Gilmore Girls spoiler thread, and as such, posters from various shipper groups are free to post here, so if you see someone saying something that you don’t like about “your” favorite character or couple, don’t start fighting with them on this thread, and don’t go into a Gilmore Girls shipper thread if you don’t like the couple that the shipper thread is for. | Teaser: Lorelai gets to Rory and Paris’ apartment only to find Doyle and Paris practising yoga. Lorelai gets to Rory’s room – it’s 6am – and Rory’s up. Lorelai says that she’s been up for awhile driving and asks Rory to go driving with her. They’re in Lorelai’s jeep driving when Lorelai tells her that her and her dad broke up the previous night. Rory is sympathetic. She says that she’s sorry and that she’s not totally surprised. She was first excited because it was so right and like their destiny but then realized that it wasn’t right. Lorelai confirms that Chris would still be in Rory’s life; GG, too, because they are still her family. All of a sudden the jeep runs out of gas. Neither girl has their cellphones with them either. They get out of the jeep and start walking to the nearest gas station. 02: The maid answers the doorbell cautiously to find Lorelai and Rory. She mumbles to the girls. They find Emily sitting in the living room who seems slightly strung out. Emily asks where Christopher is. Lorelai says that he can’t make it tonight. Lorelai says that she’ll have her regular drink then Emily says that she’s serving non-alcoholic cocktails. Lorelai is shocked. As Emily is getting the drinks the nurse taking care of Richard comes in and Emily asks her where Richard was. She says that Richard was watching golf. Emily is pissed but the nurse is as equally snarky towards Emily. Richard is also snarky towards Emily when he gets in because she is treating him like a patient. Fish is served again and Richard seems irritated. Emily says that sea-bass doesn’t not taste fishy-fish. Richard complains that the fish is bland. As Emily is talking about Richard’s dietary issues Richard gets irritated and asks not to talk about it. Richard asks Lorelai about Christopher and says that he’s looking forward to the party Emily is throwing them because it will be a guaranteed good meal. Emily confirms that he will be instead have a dietary-approved meal. Richard finally has enough and says that he’s going to finish watching his golf game – again. Emily is ticked off that it’s an old game that he’s watching and goes off to talk to him. Rory talks about the party that’s being planned with Lorelai. Lorelai says that she knows but now is not a good time since Richard just had a medical crisis. Rory is awake making breakfast for Logan in bed for his birthday. She made him cinnabons and won’t serve them to him until he gets back in bed. They kiss. He says that he will but is taking his laptop. He says that birthdays aren’t a big thing in the Huntzberger family. His parties were always with kids he never knew. He never even had a good birthday cake – a regular yellow one. Logan asks about Lorelai and Rory says that she’s ok. When he asks about how she herself are doing, she says that she just wants to celebrate his birthday. Logan is excited about a press release about himself. Emily calls Lorelai upset. The nurse comes up to her and tells Emily that Richard is upset about his lightbulb and it’s not her job. Lorelai tries to get Emily’s attention. Frustrated, Emily tells the nurse that she’ll just do it herself. Emily tells Lorelai that the pharmacy won’t deliver Richard’s blood-thinners. Lorelai asks if Emily wants her to do it. Emily gives her the address of the pharmacy and hangs up. Lorelai continues the conversation with the dial tone saying ok that she’d be glad to and by the way, she and Christopher broke up. 03: Babette and Patty are talking about Christopher moving out but using the code word Beagle. They call Lorelai the Hen. They call Luke the Rooster. They question if Luke knows but they think that he must. Patty says that the Hen and the Rooster are perfect for each other. Babette says that perhaps the Hen would be better off with a Penguin or an Ostrach. Gets upset because he doesn’t think that a Hen can mate with an Ostrich. TJ and Liz come into the diner with Doula because they think that Luke must be lonely since April moved to New Mexico. TJ leaves and comes back in with all their suitcases. Liz says that they’re planning to visit for a few days. Emily and Richard are having a quiet meal. Richard is upset because he’s having soup as a meal and he thinks that soup and salad aren’t meals. Emily offers salmon and Richard gets upset. The bell keeps ringing and Emily is yelling for the maid or the nurse to answer the door. The chef says that he was given specific instructions on Richard’s dietary concerns. He offers sandwiches and Richard says no. Emily opens the door and it’s Lorelai with Richard’s drugs. Then the chef offers one more suggestion – he quits. He storms out. Richard goes back to watching old golf. Emily searches for Aurora the maid but she says that she’s hiding from them. Lorelai offers to make something for Richard and Emily says no. Emily says that everything is falling apart. Lorelai makes Emily a mocktail and tells her to relax because she will take care of things. 04: Sookie comes to the Gilmore mansion with Tupperware containers of food that’s good for Richard. Rory calls Lorelai to ask her what they did for her 8th birthday because she’s trying to do all the missed-birthday things for Logan. Logan calls her on the other line and tells Rory and his dad called – surprised that he remembered – and says that Mitchum wants to take them out for his birthday. He also says that they don’t have to go since she’s planning his birthday Gilmore-style. Rory says no that they should go. Logan says ok and hangs up to call Mitchum. Rory clicks back to Lorelai and tells her that Logan seems excited that Mitchum wants to take them out. They wish each other Happy Logan’s birthday and hangs up. TJ, Liz and Doula are with Luke at the apartment while Liz is making her jewellery. She’s using Luke’s fishing string. Luke mentions that he went to help out when Richard was at the hospital. Liz smirks. Luke says that Lorelai and her husband broke up and Liz smiles saying that the plot thickens. She tells Luke that he should call Lorelai. Rory and Logan meet Mitchum at a fancy restaurant. Mitchum asks Logan about squash but Logan’s been too busy. Mitchum toasts Logan and then his girlfriend, Rory. Mitchum knows the chef personally and tells a story about how him. Mitchum is being nice to Rory and she looks surprised. He asks Rory about journalism and she says that she’s still in it. He gives her some advice and tells her that the field needs intelligent people like her. She says thank you looking confused. Lorelai is still helping out and Emily is freaking out because “everything’s falling apart.” Lorelai is helping out with Richard’s taxes since she has a diploma in business and she does all the Inn’s stuff. Emily pulls out some alcohol and asks Lorelai if she wants some. As they take their shots Lorelai tells her that Christopher and her broke up. Emily says that she hardly knows what to say. Lorelai says good because she doesn’t have to say anything ever. Emily pauses a beat and then starts talking about the tax stuff again. 05: At the restaurant, Logan compliments the meal. Mitchum says that Logan is a good orderer. Logan gets a business call and walks off to take it. Mitchum says that Logan is growing up and says that it’s thanks to Rory. Rory says that he did it all himself. Mitchum tells Rory that she’s been a great asset to Logan and to their family. He says that no matter what they still have work to do. Rory says that it’s up to Logan but Mitchum says that they still have to help him out. Also that there are things for Rory. He says that they have newspapers all over the world. Rory says that she remembers him telling her that she didn’t have it. Mitchum says that things change. Rory looks sceptical. Logan comes back and sits down as the waiter brings him a single cake with a single candle. Luke is awake in bed as Doula is crying. Liz and TJ talk about Luke and Lorelai and say that they just need to find a wormhole. Luke hears all of this. Lorelai teaches Emily about using software for taxes; Quicken, I think. Emily says that it’s too complicated. Emily seems depressed because she knows that Richard won’t always be there. She says that her and Richard are on a canoe paddling and now that Richard has fallen off she’s paddling alone going in circles. She points out that Lorelai is a kayak since she can do everything. Kayaks have two paddles on both sides so she can work it herself. Emily says that she has a History major from Smiths and she thought that her role was to run a home and provide for her family. Emily is impressed with Lorelai because she can do everything herself and has for the past 40 years. Lorelai says but she still wanted the marriage to work. Emily says that it’s not the end of the world and who knows – someday she may marry again. Lorelai sighs and says who knows. 06: Rory and Logan come home to an apartment that’s fully decorated. Rory tells Logan that Mitchum and her had a weird conversation where he thanked her and then wanted to conspire with her to plan Logan’s future. Rory says that she ended up toasting with him that they’re on the same page. Logan says that she’s been Huntzberger’d. Logan is impressed with Twister and pin the tail on the Moose. As Rory goes to get changed for ice skating Logan gets a call from Philip saying that there was a cease and desist on the company that Logan just bought. They were just waiting for someone with deep pockets to buy it before they got sued. Logan is shocked. Rory comes back with a weird hat for Logan. They leave. Luke comes in and Liz and TJ have taken over the apartment. Liz and TJ say that they’re ready to leave since their house is now ready. Luke pretends to be upset and wishes them goodbye. He signs in relief and sits down looking at the phone. Lorelai woke up and goes for breakfast. She spent the night at the Mansion. Lorelai asks Emily what her plans are for today. Emily rattles off a list of things including cancelling the party and that she’ll only get back 60% of the deposit, but that’s better than nothing.
